Cooling methods design for power electronics converters 电力电子变流器的冷却方法设计

This paper examines the cooling methods for high power converters applied for variable speed drives. The heatsink characteristics for water-cooling and air-cooling converters are pointed out. Furthermore, the paper presents the pros and cons of each cooling method, their requirements and the environmental aspects. Additionally, a case study of the process of choice of the heatsink in a general purpose motor drive converter is presented.

Design of an efficient hybrid AC-DC-AC converter using silicon carbide for ups applications: A comparison 应用于ups的高效混合AC-DC-AC转换器的碳化硅设计:比较

With the constant increase of energy consumption in the world, the efficiency of systems and equipment is becoming more important. Silicon Carbide devices are emerging as an opportunity to construct power converters with higher efficiency and higher power density, although they still have considerable cost. The main purpose of this work is to do an extensive comparison covering several AC-DC and DC-AC converter topologies, using Silicon Carbide and/or Silicon devices, for UPS applications. The comparison is made under two operating conditions. Two hybrid AC-DC-AC cost-effective converters are proposed, one for each condition.

Analysis of a high power COB led light source driven by offline double-stage PFC converter 离线双级PFC转换器驱动的大功率COB led光源分析

This work presents a novel method to perform high-luminous flux LED (light emitting diode) lighting. The technique comprises high current COB (chip-on-board) LEDs while their features and main parameters are properly studied in this paper. Furthermore, a PET (photo-electro-thermal) modeling is presented and evaluated considering experimental validations. In order to drive this high power COB LED, a two-stage topology has been chosen aiming minimum capacitance associated with high dc voltage bus. The first stage comprises a front-end PFC (power factor correction) boost pre-regulator operating in CCM (continuous conduction mode) whereas the second stage concerns an interleaved CCM buck structure in order to minimize current stresses in switches by sharing the rated current properly. Besides, simulation results are carried out and analyzed in order to obtain high power factor, low THDi (total input current harmonic distortion) and proper COB driving. Moreover, power quality results are presented aiming driver compliance with the 61000-3-2 C-Class international standard.

Construction and measurements of an electrical excited synchronous machine with inductive contactless energy transfer to the rotor 转子感应非接触能量传递的电励磁同步电机的结构与测量

This paper deals with the control and the operation of an electrical excited synchronous machine with a rotating contactless energy transfer system to power the excitation coil on the rotor. The system is used to replace the slip rings of an electrical excited synchronous machine. A control strategy for the electrical machine the contactless energy transfer system and an excitation current estimator are presented. The test bench for the electrical machine and the required components are described. To verify the presented theory, measurements of the temperature of the rotor, the excitation current estimator and the operation of the electrical machine are done.

Switched capacitor converter with variable duty cycle to feed led tubular lamp 可变占空比开关电容转换器,以馈送led管状灯

This paper presents a driver to feed an LED tubular lamp using a switched capacitor converter. Usually the gain of switched capacitor converters is given by the topology, not by the duty cycle, but the presented converter can regulate the output voltage by adjusting the duty cycle, what simplifies the system. This paper presents the operation steps, the project, simulation and experimental results. The load is an LED tube lamp of 120 cm long, feed with 450 mA (23 W), and the input voltage is 220 Vrms, 60 Hz. The converter was simulated and experimental results are presented.

Development of a small-signal model for a two-phase three-wire active power filter 两相三线制有源电力滤波器小信号模型的建立

This paper deals with the development of a small-signal model for a two-phase three-wire active power filter. The proposed structure and its control system are analyzed and discussed. Transfer functions (s-domain) for current and voltage control loops are presented. Validation of proposed models are made by means of comparison among theoretical and simulated AC sweep frequency response of system. In addition, a DC-link voltage control loop simplification, which allows to perform controller design similar to the one used for a single-phase active power filter, is discussed and proposed.

A soft switching current fed bidirectional isolated three-phase DC-DC converter 软开关电流馈电双向隔离三相DC-DC变换器

A soft switching current fed bidirectional isolated three-phase dc-dc converter based on a voltage source dual-active bridge (DAB) topology is presented in this work. Current fed structures have more flexibility to ensure soft switching for a wide operating range, when compared with voltage source topologies, because the variable duty cycle allows maintain a dc link constant between the primary and secondary sides of the converter. Details and description of the proposed converter are presented. A mathematical analysis is realized regarding the power flow behavior and the switching characteristics of the topology. Simulations results considering a design example rated at 48V/380V, 3.5kW are performed to validate the proposed approach.

Decoupled stationary ABC frame current control of three-phase four-leg four-wire converters 三相四脚四线变换器的解耦静止ABC帧电流控制

This paper analyzed a method for decoupling the current control loop of three-phase converters in the stationary abc frame, which is valid for both the three-leg three-wire and four-leg four-wire (with neutral inductor) topologies. As control in the abc frame presents an extra degree of freedom for the converter references, the extra reference is set to zero or the negative sum of the others. The latter decoupled the closed-loop system, assuming that there were no voltage disturbances. The two options were compared through a transfer matrix analysis, simulations and experimental results. With the suggested control structure, a simple and effective control implementation can be achieved in the abc frame.

Advantages of grid-tied DC microgrid 并网直流微电网的优势

The present work aims to investigate the advantages of the implementation of a grid-tied DC microgrid (MG), thus integrating several types of distributed generation, DC loads and the AC power grid. The distributed resources of the DC MG consist of a photovoltaic generation system in addition to a fuel cell generation unit. The control of the MG is performed in a decentralized manner, where each power converter connected to the DC bus performs certain features without a communication channel. The DC MG studied in this paper is able to operate in island mode and reject AC disturbances, by the implementation of an Energy Storage System connected to the DC bus by a bidirectional converter. Simulation results show the operation and viability of the aforementioned DC MG.

The distributed resources of the DC MG consist of a photovoltaic generation system in addition to a fuel cell generation unit. The control of the MG is performed in a decentralized manner, where each power converter connected to the DC bus performs certain features without a communication channel. The DC MG studied in this paper is able to operate in island mode and reject AC disturbances, by the implementation of an Energy Storage System connected to the DC bus by a bidirectional converter. Design and lifetime analysis of a DSCC-MMC STATCOM DSCC-MMC STATCOM的设计与寿命分析

The modular multilevel converters (MMCs) has been employed in several applications as HVDC systems, energy storage, renewable energy, electrical drives and STATCOMs. In STATCOM application, the converter needs to compensate negative sequence components and unbalanced currents. Nevertheless, the design proposed in the literature considers only positive sequence compensation. Since the STATCOM is submitted to a variety of current stresses, the reliability analysis is strongly recommended. Therefore this work presents a lifetime analysis and a design methodology considering both positive and negative sequence reactive power compensation. A case study considering a 7 MVA MMC STATCOM is analyzed in order to validate the proposed design. The lifetime consumption of the power modules employed is evaluated considering a mission profile acquired from a factory in southeastern of Brazil. Two IGBT solutions (with different current rating) are compared. The results indicate that doubling the power modules rated current increase the initial cost less than 60%, on the other hand, the converter lifetime can increase until 3.6 times and the losses are reduced in 4.4%.
