Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Perovskite as an Efficient Light Convertor for Visible Light Communication 有机-无机杂化钙钛矿作为可见光通信的高效光转换器

Light emitting diodes (LEDs)are commonly used as light sources not only for illumination but also for data transmission especially in visible light communication (VLC). To provide the white light source in a VLC system, the blue emission of an LED is partially converted into green, yellow, and/or red emission. Tunable band gap, low non-radiative recombination rate, and high color purity introduce organic-inorganic halide perovskites (PSK)as promising candidates for using as a light convertor in VLC. In this work, a uniform perovskite nanocrystal layer with a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY)as high as 90% is fabricated that can be efficiently employed as light convertor for VLC.

Investigation into Using Compensation for the Nonlinear Effects of the Output of LEDs in Visible Light Communication Systems 对可见光通信系统中led输出非线性效应的补偿研究

This paper investigate the effects of the nonlinear output power to the input current transfer function of a light emitting diode (LED) used as the transmitter in visible light communication systems, and proposes a compensation technique to mitigate the non-linearity. Using an off the shelf red, amber, blue, green (RAGB) LED the nonlinear transfer function is measured and then compensated for. The results show that, for the green LED, which has the highest degree of nonlinearity, an improvement in the received error vector magnitude (EVM)of almost 7 dB can be achieved. We also show that, the improvement in EVM over the uncompensated scheme decreases with increased LED linearity.

Equivalent Circuit Model of High Power LEDs for VLC Systems VLC系统中大功率led等效电路模型

The equivalent circuit model for two commercial high power LEDs for illuminance is proposed and extensive measurements have been carried out to verify the accuracy of the model. In addition, the frequency response of two LEDs in the optical domain can be estimated using the transfer function of electrical equivalent circuit. It is shown that, the electrical parasitics in the chip and packaging introduce significant attenuation beyond a resonance frequcency. Care should be taken when designing high-speed driver and/or equalization circuits for VLC systems.

Experimental Demonstration of Vehicle to Road Side Infrastructure Visible Light Communications 车辆与路边基础设施可见光通信的实验演示

The increasing use of light emitting diodes in traffic lights offer excellent opportunities for implementation of visible light communications (VLC)based wireless technology as part of intelligent transport systems in smart environments. In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate vehicle to infrastructure (V2I)communications based on the VLC technology using a real traffic light and a camera over a link span of up to 80 m. We show a reduction in the modulation depth of the signal from 1000% to 50% in order to track the light source when sending ‘0’ symbols. Also presented is the effect of operating the camera in the focused and defocused modes. The results show transmission success rates of 100% and 90% over link spans of 70 m and 80 m, respectively under specific testconditions.

Performance Evaluation of an OFDM-based Underwater Wireless Optical Communication Link by Considering Depth-Dependent Variations in Attenuation 考虑衰减随深度变化的ofdm水下无线光通信链路性能评估

This paper investigates the performance of a 10-meter length Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)-based Underwater Wireless Optical Communications (UWOC) link by employing quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM)scheme for various depths, taking into account impact of the depth variation on the attenuation coefficient in the clear open ocean. The channel is simulated through the Monte Carlo modeling of light (MCML) method using the Henyey-Greenstein model of the scattering phase function. A least-square (LS) channel estimation method has been used for equalization whose coefficients are obtained using a comb type channel estimation (CE) arrangement and interpolation. The results show that increasing of depth has a significant effect on Bit Error Rate (BER) performance as the BER reaches from 5.25⨯10−6at a depth of 1 m to 1.21⨯10−2 at a depth of 30 m. Also, the intensity of the received light decreases by increasing depth water and distance between the transmitter and receiver.

Partial Relay Selection with Feedback Delay in an AF Cooperative Relaying RF-FSO System with Spectrum Sharing 频谱共享AF协同中继RF-FSO系统中带有反馈延迟的部分中继选择

In this paper, the performance of a dual-hop selection relaying system with mixed radio frequency (RF)and free space optical (FSO)communications is evaluated under a feedback delay. The RF links are under Rayleigh fading and spectrum-sharing constraints while the FSO links are assumed to follow Gamma-Gamma distribution. A partial relay selection (PRS)scheme in an amplify-and-forward (AF)cooperative relaying with variable gain relaying is considered, and the performance of the system is evaluated and compared under different parameters. Simulation results are presented for the outage probability, average BER, and average capacity of the considered system.

Rectangular Nano-Wire Analysis at Terahertz and Optical Frequencies Using Interior-Exterior Method and Surface Impedance Model 利用内外法和表面阻抗模型分析太赫兹和光学频率下的矩形纳米线

The field distribution inside metallic rectangular strip can be obtained using the interior-exterior method. The formulation for this method is exact for 2D cases; though, numerical implementation produces inaccuracies. In this paper, we compute the fields inside the rectangular metal strip at terahertz and optical frequencies and compare the field distribution with the bulk model. It is found that simple zeroth order surface impedance model can indeed be used instead of accurate but processor-exhausting techniques at terahertz frequencies. The zeroth order surface impedance model can also be used at optical frequencies, though with cautious. Moreover, a generalized definition of penetration depth is introduced to cover plasmonic propagation regime.

Analysing the Atmospheric Effects on Optical Communication Link Parameters Through a Slant Path in the Non-Kolmogorov Turbulence 非柯尔莫哥洛夫湍流中斜程大气对光通信链路参数的影响分析

In this investigation, the effects of scattering, absorption and non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence on the wireless optical communication link's parameters is studied. Link's parameters including scintillation index, Power In Bucket (PIB), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Bit Error Rate (BER) through a slant path, which has been studied in detail. According to the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, the cross-spectral density (and hence the average intensity)and scintillation index of a Flat-topped array laser beam propagating through the slant path in the turbulent atmosphere with the help of the derived analytical expressions are investigated. By using the LOWTRAN code, the atmospheric transmittance is estimated. Consequently, the link reliability through investigation of PIB, SNR and BER is numerically analyzed. Then, the impacts of some crucial source and turbulent environment factors on the considered link parameters are scrutinized. The results of the study are presented using the graphs.

According to the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, the cross-spectral density (and hence the average intensity)and scintillation index of a Flat-topped array laser beam propagating through the slant path in the turbulent atmosphere with the help of the derived analytical expressions are investigated. By using the LOWTRAN code, the atmospheric transmittance is estimated. Consequently, the link reliability through investigation of PIB, SNR and BER is numerically analyzed. Then, the impacts of some crucial source and turbulent environment factors on the considered link parameters are scrutinized. Converged 5G and Fiber-Wireless Access Networks Enhanced with Visible Light Communications and Steerable Infrared Beam 融合5G和光纤无线接入网络增强可见光通信和可控红外光束

In this paper, we propose a new architecture to leverage visible light communication (VLC)and steerable infrared (IR)beam to enhance the wireless data transmission rate of indoor users in the so-called fiber-wireless (FiWi)access networks. In the proposed architecture, VLC access points (APs), referred to as light fidelity (LiFi)APs, besides WiFi APs are converged with fifth-generation (5G)cellular networks to provide ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC). In the proposed architecture, steerable IR beams are utilized as backhaul links of LiFi APs, as well as multi-beam VLC link are implemented by using the on chip optical phased array. In this paper, we highlight potentials and benefits of this architecture and outline future research directions to address the challenges.

Performance Analysis of Elastic MIMO-RF/FSO Communication Over Lutz Model with LDPC LDPC下Lutz模型弹性MIMO-RF/FSO通信性能分析

Elastic radio frequency (RF)/ free space optical (FSO) system is a promising solution to access high reliability and quality of performance in satellite-ground communications. It is introduced as a reconfigurable system since RF and FSO links suffer from some unfavorable atmospheric conditions individually. Elastic RF/FSO system has considered RF as a back-up link while FSO stops working due to aforementioned destructive effects. This work has analyzed the performance of two kinds of channel coding schemes named low density parity check (LDPC) and space time block codes (STBC) the former is applied to provide coding gain and the latter to provide spatial diversity over Lutz model considered as a statistical model in RF communication. Finally, the bit error rate (BER) performance of coding schemes has been evaluated over Lutz model with Rayleigh and Rician fading distributions. Simulation results demonstrate a considerable BER reduction even in low signal to noise ratios particularly when FSO meets undesirable atmospheric effects.
