Additional knowledge on the genus Mitragyna (Rubiaceae) in Thailand 关于泰国密缕草属(茜草科)的补充知识

A revision of the genus Mitragyna (Rubiaceae) in Thailand is reported. Four species, i.e. M. diversifolia, M. hirsuta, M. rotundifolia, and M. speciosa are described in this taxonomic treatment. A summary of taxonomic history, detailed morphological descriptions, distributions, ecology, phenology, vernacular names, uses, IUCN conservation status, specimens examined, photographs and a key to the species are proposed. Two names are lectotypified: M. rotundifolia and M. speciosa.

Notes on Apocynaceae in Laos: Chilocarpus denudatus, Kopsia vidalii and Parsonsia penangiana

Two species of Apocynaceae, Chilocarpus denudatus and Kopsia vidalii, are newly recorded for Laos. The genus Chilocarpus is also a new generic record for Laos. Notes on Parsonsia penangiana are also provided. A description, photographs, ecological information, vernacular names, and an IUCN conservation status based on our collections are provided for each species.

The widespread Asian genus Monoon (Annonaceae) comprises about 70 tropical forest species, over 20 of which occur in Thailand. Four new species from Thailand are described here: Monoon roseum and M. ornithocephalum from Peninsular Thailand and M. phukraduengense and M. phuluangense from North-Eastern Thailand.

Rennellia wallichii is proposed as a new combination to take the place of R. speciosa as the correct name of a Rubiaceae species from Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia. A lectotype is designated for Morinda wallichii.

Strobilanthes spirei is proposed as a new combination of Clinacanthus spirei. Strobilanthes hypomalla and S. spirei are newly recorded for Thailand. The lectotypification of S. hypomalla is made. A detailed description of morphology and pollen features is provided as well as photographs, distribution map, ecology and taxonomic notes.

Pollen morphology of the Sapotaceae from Thailand and its taxonomic implications 标题泰国仙人掌科植物的花粉形态及其分类意义

The external pollen morphology of the family Sapotaceae in Thailand was examined using the acetolysis method to determine its taxonomic significance. Pollen of 39 specimens belonging to 32 species was investigated by means of light and scanning electron microscopy. Pollen grains are found to be monads, isopolar, colporate, lalongate, and variable in size, shape, aperture number, colpus length and exine thickness. Exine ornamentation is also variable, showing more than one pattern on a single pollen grain. Principal component analysis based on 13 pollen characters identified three pollen groups: Chrysophyllum, Madhuca and Pouteria types based on pollen shape, size, the ratio of colpus length to the polar axis and exine sculpturing. Pollen morphology is taxonomically useful in the classification of the Thai Sapotaceae, especially in the taxonomic status of Planchonella and Pouteria species.

Two new species of Ilex (Aquifoliaceae) from Thailand 标题泰国冬青科二新种

Two new species of Aquifoliaceae are reported for Thailand. Ilex depressifructu is newly recorded from Umphang District, Tak Province (leaf blades ovate, ovate-oblong or oblong, base obtuse; infructescences solitary dichasia; fruits depressed globose with capitate stigma; pyrenes 5, shallowly-5-sulcate, 6-striate) and Ilex phanganensis (like I. umbellulata, but glabrous, smaller leaves, less veins, diplothyrsoid inflorescences with mainly alternate branches, less pyrenes), is newly recorded from Ko Phagnan Islands, Surat Thani Province. The descriptions and illustrations of the taxa are presented.

A new species of Paraboea (Gesneriaceae), P. khotamiae, from a limestone karst in central Laos, is described and illustrated. The species resembles Paraboea bintangensis, P. prazeri and P. robusta, but differs in leaf shape and floral features, especially corolla shape and size, the interior of the corolla tube, and capsule characters. In addition, we report the occurrence of Middletonia reticulata (Gesneriaceae) for the flora of Laos for the first time.

A new species, Sonerila bolavenensis (Melastomataceae), from the Bolaven Plateau, southern Laos, is described and illustrated. Sonerila bolavenensis is easily recognized by its tiny stature up to 3 cm tall (including inflorescence), small ovate to rounded leaves 0.3–1.4 × 0.35–1 cm, petioles 0.2–0.8 cm long, and 1-flowered inflorescence. A vernacular name and preliminary conservation status are provided.

Sonerila bolavenensis is easily recognized by its tiny stature up to 3 cm tall (including inflorescence), small ovate to rounded leaves 0.3–1.4 × 0.35–1 cm, petioles 0.2–0.8 cm long, and 1-flowered inflorescence.
