Antibacterial activity and composition of hand sanitizer from white turmeric extract as a prevention of Covid-19 预防Covid-19的白姜黄提取物洗手液的抗菌活性和成分

The main ingredient in hand sanitizers is alcohol, but alcohol is not only bactericidal, but also toxic, so its substitution with natural ingredients that are environmentally friendly and has antibacterial properties, such as White Turmeric (Curcuma Zeodaria), is necessary. The compound in white turmeric is curcumin which has the potential to inhibit and kill bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. This study aims to determine the optimum hand sanitizer formulation from white turmeric and test its antibacterial activity. The stages of the research included white turmeric extraction, determination of hand sanitizer formulation, a test of respondents' preference level, and test of the antibacterial product. The analysis was carried out by calculating the percentage of the respondent's preference level, and testing the activity of bacteria. The results show that for the color parameter, all respondents like the 5% concentration and the addition of essential oil, while for the dry speed and humidity parameters, the respondents like all concentrations. In the hand sanitizer preparation, white turmeric was extracted with a variety of solvents, consisting of pure ethanol, ethanol-water (2:1), and ethanol-water (1:1). The prepared hand sanitizer has antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli with an average inhibition zone of 14.53 mm (strong inhibitory ability) and Staphylococcus aureus with an inhibition zone of 4.59 mm (weak inhibitory ability). © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. Students’ response to wards proteus as a teaching and learning tool 学生对proteus作为教学工具的反应

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a positive influence on the use of technology in education, which continues to grow and is in line with the demands of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. This also impacts teaching and learning activities changes with the implementation of the Distance Learning (PJJ) or online learning system. This study aimed to determine the student's ability to make parallel series and LCD circuits and student responses to learning parallel series and LCD circuits. Qualitative research uses response questionnaires and data from the learning process. The analysis results showed that assembling in a parallel series circuit was 82.8%, and an LCD circuit was 71.4%. The positive response of students to learning using Proteus is 80%. Electrical circuit simulation activity using Proteus is a short activity complementary to the practicum with the hope of developing basic skills in using software, increasing knowledge of electrical circuit topology. The introduction of simulation is also expected to contribute to the constructive learning of electric circuit theory. © 2023 Author(s).

Project based online learning on the concept of the colligative properties of solutions 项目基于在线学习解的依数性质的概念

In an effort to prevent the spread of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, learning must be carried out online, by utilizing several online platforms and social media such as the tiktok application. Innovative media and can reduce student boredom during online learning. In addition, appropriate learning models are needed, such as project-based learning. This research was conducted on the second semester students of the chemical education study program at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The purpose of the study is a describ e students activities and analyze the products produced by student, and describe the improvement of problem solving ability after the application of project based learning in online learning on concept colligative properties. The method use was pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design, which was designed without any control class. The results of hypothesis test shows that the tcount value is 13,17, while the ttable is 2,45, so Ho rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an increase in problem solving abilities after the application of project based learning in online learning on the concept colligative properties. © 2023 Author(s).
