This paper explores the role played by credit unions in financial inclusion in Chile. Using administrative individual-level data available at the CMF, the borrowing and saving behavior of credit unions’ members is analyzed. The results find that credit unions contribute to financial inclusion: it is more likely that people with low income, elderly, women, and inhabitants of small communities, far from the large urban centers, borrow from credit unions.

In this study we analyze the impact of several socioeconomic variables on the happiness of the inhabitants of Arequipa city, located at the south of Peru. In order to, there were applied a socioeconomic chart and the Lima Happiness Scale in a representative sample of 823 people from Metropolitan Arequipa, obtained by the clustering technique. A multiple linear regression was applied to process the data, and the race was the unique variable significant statistically associated with the happiness of the inhabitants.

This paper analyzes the impacts of Covid 19 on the regional economy/health of Peru jointly, measured by the Covid 19 Regional Performance Index (IPCR19). The research shows that the degree of impact on the IPCR19 is explained by conjunctural and structural variables. The main variables that explain why the regions have been more or less affected by the pandemic are the acquisition of oxygen to contain the coronavirus, the availability of water in the home, rurality or lower population density, and the willingness to have buffer economic sectors with significant participation in GDP, mainly agriculture, hydrocarbons, mining, fishing and aquaculture activities.

This paper seeks to answer the effects of monetary policy on family consumption using the National Household Survey (ENAHO) as a database. To do this, a panel data model is estimated for the period 2016 2019; as well as the use of the VAR panel methodology with a quarterly periodicity between 2013 and 2020. In both it is observed that there is a degree of significance of these shocks on the consumption of families, also verifying that under the inclusion of certain variables of control, as well as of the main macroeconomic variables, greater robustness of the monetary policy is generated.
