This research examines the emergence of tolerance for inter-religious harmony in rural communities, providing a model for other Indonesian villages to reduce conflicts. It emphasizes the role of influential community leaders in fostering tolerance. Using qualitative methods, this study employs a case study approach and diverse data collection techniques. Findings highlight the importance of identity negotiation (Knowledge, Motivation, Skill) in shaping tolerance, as seen in initiatives such as the “Peaceful Village.” This framework guides interreligious harmony and communication strategies. Identity negotiation includes identity knowledge, mindfulness, and negotiation skills, fostering self-awareness for coexistence. The study underscores leadership’s role in promoting respect, appreciation, and mutual protection and fostering parity, tolerance, and cooperation. This research contributes by thoroughly exploring interreligious tolerance at the village level. It underscores the leader’s importance, offers communication strategies, and introduces identity negotiation. These insights guide other Indonesian villages to reduce conflicts and enhance harmony. This study investigates the role of exchange rates and the global market on a selected country’s exchange-traded fund (ETF) return. The dataset is constructed from 12 developed and 7 emerging countries’ ETFs for January 2012-July 2022. We employ linear regression with the delta percentage change method. The empirical analysis suggests that there are negative highly significant co-movements between the global market and most selected countries’ ETF returns. Meanwhile, exchange rates negatively and highly significantly influences only emerging market ETFs. We concluded that developed market ETFs have a strong negative linkage with the global market returns. Keywords: exchange-traded fund, market return, exchange rates, macroeconomics.
