Three consecutive algorithms are used to estimate the number of multiple overlapped pulsed received chirp signals and their parameters in the electronic support measures (ESM) station noisy receiving window at low signal to noise ratio. The first consecutive algorithm is used to estimate both the number of multiple overlapped received radar signals and the chirp rate of each one in the receiving window. Then, the second consecutive algorithm is used to minimize the additive noise and/or interference in the receiving window by filtering each received chirp signal in the corresponding fractional Fourier domain. The third consecutive algorithm based on WD and Hough transform is used to estimate both the received chirp signal duration and the received chirp signal bandwidth.

A possible approach to ensuring the necessary qualitative properties of analytical models by adapting their parameters to probable changes in the course of complex processes is considered. The approach involves the use of a polymodel description of processes with the aim of mutual compensation of the objective shortcomings of heterogeneous models, as well as the use of simulation modeling capabilities to adjust the parameters of analytical models in cases where the use of the latter is due to strict limitations on the time of obtaining calculation results and developing control influences based on them. The considered example of parametric adaptation of the Lanchester-type model reflects probable changes in the number of opposing sides during the conduct of hostilities.

As a result of the military's use of synthetic aperture radar (SAR), it has become necessary to use jamming techniques to protect sensitive sites of friendly forces from being intercepted by SAR. To combat SAR sensors, two jamming techniques are typically available: noise jamming and deceptive jamming. In this paper the design and hardware implementation of a proposed active decoy which works as deceptive jamming system, is achieved using field programmable gate array (FPGA). The performance of the developed system is evaluated by SystemVue. 2015.01, using “hardware in the loop” methodology.

The article is focused on the statistics of aviation accidents of military helicopters in the service of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic since 1956, when helicopters were first assigned to military units in the former Czechoslovakia, until the end of 2021. It contains not only a unique and previously unpublished comprehensive numerical over-view of aviation accidents (disasters, crashes and damage events), but also an analytical review in terms of the type of accidents, the date of their occurrence, the type of helicop-ter and also the number of killed and surviving crew members. These numerical summaries are accompanied by comments, as well as by a list of literature and infor-mation sources that are currently still available in relation to the subject.

An approach of qualitative optical flow processing for indoor object recognition based on planar attributes is presented. The qualitative processing is performed under hierarchical segmentations of optical flow vectors. The proposed solution for indoor object recognition is undertaken from identifying planar and atilt properties of optical flow images. The advantages of the proposed solutions are the use of much simpler arithmetic to obtain more 3D details about indoor objects.

The article presents an analysis of air accidents involving military helicopters used in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic from their introduction in 1956 to the end of 2021. It focuses on the contribution of human factors of flight personnel to these air accidents. The aim of the article is, based on extensive analyses of the circumstances and causes of individual air accidents, to formulate the root causes of the factors that have threatened and still threaten the lives of not only pilots, but also other members of military helicopter flight crews while performing their profession. To conclude, recommendations are given to reduce, or in many cases even to eliminate, the effects of these factors on flight safety.

This paper presents a hybrid positioning technique combining both loosely and tightly coupled Kalman Filter (KF) algorithms for an autonomous multi-wheeled combat vehicle. The developed algorithm is able to provide accurate positioning information even if number of visible satellites falls below the minimum due to the harsh operation environments. Two modes of operation were considered which automatically switch between them according to the number of visible satellites in order to correct the INS drift. Furthermore, a performance comparison between fifteen and eighteen KFs states is conducted. A simulation of the developed algorithm is performed, using a SATNAV navigation toolbox and the collected data from real sensors mounted on a ground vehicle. The experimental results validated effectiveness of the developed algorithm.

The article deals with the problem of determining the electromagnetic availability zone of the radio transmitter of the radio communication channel in the UHF/VHF range on the terrain map of the area. This problem was solved using well-known mathematical models of radio signal propagation, depending on the characteristics of the specific area. Based on the wave algorithm, a bounds calculation method of electromagnetic availability zone is proposed, using a digitized radiation pattern of radio means. The conducted calculations show the effectiveness of the method in the tasks of assessing the performance of a mobile radio communication channel and its security at local combat operations in the conditions of operation of an enemy radio reconnaissance receiver or a radio interference system.

The flow characteristics of propellant gases inside the gas cylinder of the weapon gas-operated mechanism, applied to the UK-59 machine gun, are studied. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in ANSYS Fluent is used for the simulation of flow through the gas port from the barrel bore to the gas cylinder and back. The study's findings are presented along with the piston law of motion and thermodynamic quantities of gases inside the cylinder, specifically the pressure, temperature, and velocity distribution of gases in the cylinder for various piston displacements. The experiment was carried out to specify the pressure of the gases in the cylinder, as well as the displacement of the piston. The experimentally obtained values are compared to the simulation results with a very good agreement.

The article discusses the mathematical model of technical condition-based maintenance of weapon systems. The model his developed based on a semi-Markov stochastic process. The diffusion-monotonic (DM) distribution law, which is specific for airfield technical condition-based maintenance of aircraft, is has been used as a failure model, and type I errors are considered. For standard operating conditions, graphs of the dependence of the coefficient of technical use and specific costs per hour of operation in good condition from the basic parameters are shown. The optimal maintenances interval ensuring maximum maintenance coefficient value has been proved. The principal results have been achieved by using multiple calculation method.
