This study advances the thesis that knowledge gained from a formal entrepreneurship education program will have positive effects on an individual's overall entrepreneurial intentions through the mediating influences of attitudes and social norms favouring entrepreneurial behaviour. In this proposed conceptual framework, it is argued that the knowledge gained by students attending an entrepreneurship course will have a positive impact on the students' intentions of starting a business. Guided by the theory of planned behaviour, this study proposes a research design which involves tracking of the changes in the students' perceptions of the desirability of, self-efficacy in engaging in, and social norms supportive of, entrepreneurship and their consequent influences on the student's entrepreneurial intentions prior to the start and upon completion of an entrepreneurship course.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This study examines a community-based peace-building program viewed from the perspective of promotion of a broader democratic participation, fair and equitable distribution of material and non-material resources, utilization of local resources, critical empowerment as manifested in the people's capacity to understand the root causes of conflict, resolution of conflict using non-violent approaches, concern for the environment, and awareness of interdependence and solidarity, and the reduction of prejudice, mislabeling and stereotypes among different social groupings in the community. The results appear to support Gaston Z. Ortigas - Peace Institute Model of Conflict Transformation that healing past wounds in deeply divided societies can be achieved if the root causes of the conflict are addressed, especially those related to justice and equitable distribution of resources with particular bias for the marginalized sectors.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This paper problematizes the logocentrism of a Christian stance that has not made itself an effective dialogue partner with the indigenous people of Benguet as regards the latter's religious beliefs and practices. Introducing experience (i.e., the writer's experience as a Benguet Kankanaey Christian) as a lens/starting point towards a Christian understanding of ancestor reverence in the Benguet tradition, this study posits that Christian theology must go beyond stereotyping indigenous beliefs and practices as "pagan," "superstitious," "exotic," "backward," and "static." The writer instead proposes that a shift in the understanding of ancestor reverence is possible if a truly Christian dialogue is taken seriously as a way of paying attention to the voices and rituals from the mountains. A dialogical stance needs to cultivate a keen sense of awareness of and the capacity to listen to the pressing issues and concerns of the Benguet people that are often articulated in their prayers to their ancestors. Attentive listening may lead to a deeper understanding of the significance of ancestors to a people, as they attempt to reconstruct their cultural history and to promote and preserve their dignity and cultural identity as a distinct community in a world that is becoming globalized but fragmented. Furthermore, a theology of dialogue may become possible if it moves from doctrinal and ecclesiastical constrictions to a more open, empowering, and committed partnership in the dialogue of life. Only then can we speak of a Christianity that can find a home in the tradition and culture of the other.
