Atmospheric emissions from gas pre-treatment centers of the Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg LLC influenced the community of oribatid mites in southern tundra ecosystems. It was evidenced by changing the ratio of the ecological groups of the oribatid mites rather than its total abundance. The euedaphic oribatid mites prevailed essentially in the mites community of more contaminated biotopes located closer to the source of atmospheric pollution. In the conditions of de- creasing pollution levels, the mites community structure was changed to predominance of litter-surface oribatid mites spe- cies, larger in size and typical for undisturbed natural communities. Level of pollution was evaluated on the basis of cu- mulative index of anthropogenic pollution load per unit of an ecosystem surface (IPLS). It was found that the best charac- teristic of bioindication of pollution is the ratio of litter-topsoil oribatid mites to euedaphic ones (RL/S). Very simple equa- tion with significantly high determination coefficient was obtained to describe this dependence: RL/S = 4.84 - Ln(IPLS).

The main goal of gas industry development strategy is to find and justify the optimum balance between gas production and consumption, ensure harmonious and synchronous advancement of all system developing sectors. This task imposes certain requirements on methods of storing and visualizing information in gas industry, its past, current status and future development. For this purpose, Gazprom VNIIGAZ-NIIGazeconomica LLC has developed its own ver- sion of geo-information system, which allows to efficiently structure, analyze, revise and visualize all information on the long-term development programs of gas industry by means of synthesizing tabulated and cartographic data.

The authors give an outline of the present-day natural gas production and its prospects in Polar Regions of Russia, explores how to identify (geo)ecolgical risks that may occur at various production stages and lead to emergency situations, and proposes strategies for accident prevention and postaccident remediation activities. The final papers focus on the approaches to (geo)ecological and regional risk management at Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg LLC, the main Gazprom production subsidiary.

The environmental peculiarities, biological resources properties and land stock for Gazprom Dobycha Yam- burg LLC gas fields have determined the Company's long-term environmental policy based on the concept of gas industry sustainable development and is targeted at the stringent compliance with the Russian environmental laws and international ecological standards. The geo-environmental risk policy comprises a series of sequential efforts to be taken as well as R&D activities. So, it may be stated that the long-term experience of the Company in the sphere of environmental protec- tion proves to be relevant and appropriate for replication by other Gazprom JSC subsidiaries developing hydrocarbon fields in the Far North.

It is worth noting in the paper that standardization as a legislative mechanism of risk management should by no means be applicable to all types of risks. More often limits are set on risks accepted by gas companies or corporations. It was carried out that these limits depend on the level of economic and financial development, specific technologies, envi- ronmental regulation and other factors which are applicable for ecologically oriented gas industry development strategy.

The paper is addressing the development of the gas and oil resources in polar areas that nowadays is impossible without the efficient settlement of environmental issues. The main topic is also the development of regional-branch envi- ronmental management system in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YNAO), including the potential application of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) to speed up economic development of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

This paper shows that in the polar areas with severe climate conditions the Environmental Policy must be stated on the Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg Company's standpoints of sustainable development on both the environment protec- tion and social accountability principles implementation. It gives basis for short-term and mid-term goal-oriented planning of the Company's performance in this sphere. The Environmental Policy is subject to regular revision, update and im- provement, following any alterations in the environmental laws of the Russian Federation and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug as well as any changes in development priorities and industrial welfare of the Company as Gazprom JSC subsidiary

This study attempts to assess diversity and distribution of macrofungi in six Collestrada woodland types characterized by a prevalent plant species: the Carpinus betulus, the Quercus cerris, the Q. frainetto, the Q. petraea, the Q. ilex, and the plantations with Pinus pinea and Pinus pinaster. The mycological survey was carried out from January 2011 to July 2013, throughout the Collestrada woodland types. A total of 305 species belonging to 61 families and 121 genera were identified from the Collestrada forest over a 2 y and half sampling. The collected species were mainly Basidiomycota (97%), including a high relative abundance of Agaricomycetes (96.6%). The Agaricales order is the most represented. The diversity and structure of the macrofungi assemblages are mainly affected by the host tree species composition. The macrofungal community at Q. frainetto woodland, displayed the highest richness and diversity. The lowest richness and diversity was found in Pinus spp. plantation. Among the species collected, 81 fungal species were included in the Red List (or proposals for Red Lists) in several European countries because of their rarity due to natural or anthropogenic factors. For this it may be worth taking the Collestrada forest into consideration for the in situ conservation of these species.
