AbstractThe debate on “predatory” publishing within academic scholarly communication continues. Blacklists (or watchlists) pertaining to “predatory” open access publishing by Jeffrey Beall, anonymous websites that cloned Beall’s blacklists, with or without updates, as well as a now-defunct blacklist, Dolos list, contain classification errors. During a Google search in 2021–2022, we found that dozens of academic libraries around the world, primarily in the USA, had continued to promote those blacklists. Abstract This study examined the relationships between information-seeking behaviors (ISB) of Indonesian academic scientists and their individual and environmental factors in the open access era. A total of 335 scientists from Indonesia’s three reputable universities in the field of natural sciences, environmental sciences, engineering, health sciences, and agricultural sciences completed the online questionnaire. To interpret the correlation between scientists’ behaviors, several regression models in the Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) were used. The study found that scientists’ ISB was influenced by various factors, such as demographic, psychological, role-related, and environmental factors. The academic position was found to be the dominant factor influencing ISB.

Abstract Accessibility of electronic resources is an increasingly important topic. The University of Tennessee (UT) Libraries began gathering Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) in 2019 to demonstrate compliance with federal and state laws and university policy. This analysis seeks to identify trends in VPAT creation over time, as well as how to converse with a vendor based on how the VPAT itself is completed. After analyzing 161 VPATs, the authors found that the number of VPATs completed correctly has increased in recent years. Vendors can still improve VPATs by correctly completing and disclosing information, as well as make them widely available.
