Abstract The library one-shot is common in academic libraries, though not universally loved by academic librarians. This article examines several ways in which single-session library instruction can benefit from the development and implementation of more well-rounded learning opportunities, which may be used in conjunction with or in place of the one-shot. The author pulls from literature published in the last decade as well as their own experiences to justify a net- or web-based approach to library instruction. They provide several sample instruction method formulas that allow for adaptation and flexibility based on the needs and values of individual institutions or librarians.

Abstract California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) library makes available its collection on the discovery layer, Primo VE. Users should be able to access all the content seamlessly but, they lack research experience, and the library collection is usually hiding errors that need to be fixed by the Electronic Resources (ER) Librarian. Sometimes, users make false reports to access issues. Students report problems to open access (OA) articles because they do not get linked directly to the desired article. The ER librarian analyzed electronic resource tickets submitted in 2022. These are opportunities to connect with users.

Abstract The article presents the academic library‘s perspective on a local digital storytelling project of the American University in Bulgaria. Community outreach projects in an international setting require an appropriate set of practical and pedagogical approaches, flexible project skills, advocacy, and cross-departmental collaboration to achieve their goals. The article gives an overview of the emerging digital storytelling method used in academia, shares the challenges, good practices, and results, as well as the empowering opportunities for the library to build capacity for similar digital initiatives in the future and to strengthen its advocacy abilities.

Abstract During the pandemic, instruction moved online, and physical formats of media were unable to be used. This presented the opportunity to undertake a quantitative study on the use of streaming videos, particularly in the sciences, at Colorado College. The authors used vendor statistics for the last 5 years (2016–2017 to 2020–2021) and reviewed the time period of March–February, which is what the authors refer to as the covid year. By 2021, streaming videos were being used 25 times more than in 2016, and science videos were being streamed 26 times as much.
