Classification and Counting of Ships Using YOLOv5 Algorithm 基于YOLOv5算法的船舶入级与计数

Computer vision has been aiding various industries in making work efficient. In the case of marine and ocean-related industries, climate change, greenhouse gasses, fishing exploitation, and coastal contamination are all causing significant effects on human life. In the Philippines, the same problem that burdens most coastal countries exists. The system implemented to aid this problem is limited to those with access to the SAR and has no local or small-scale implementation. Different studies focus on the utilization of algorithms to detect and classify ships in the sea. Therefore, counting and classification based on the type of ships are essential. Using the YOLOv5 and DeepSORT algorithm, the system was able to achieve a model, prototype, and counting accuracy of 98.65%, 98.11%, and 100% respectively. Some of the misclassifications are due to the close similarities of the different classes and the under representation of some classes. It can be concluded that the produced model is accurate in detecting, classifying, and counting ships based on type.

A Planar Out-of-Phase Gysel Power Divider with High Power Division 一种具有高功率分割的平面反相陀螺功率分压器

A novel planar Gysel power divider with high power dividing ratio and out-of-phase characteristics is presented in this paper. In order to realize higher power dividing ratio and out-of-phase feature between two output ports, a section of coupled lines with one short-circuited end is used in the proposed power divider. By using the transmission line theory, the circuit is analyzed and the design equations are given to determine the corresponding circuit parameters of the proposed Gysel power divider. For verification, a prototype operating at 2 GHz with power dividing ratio of 6 is designed, fabricated and measured. The measured results show about 18% relative bandwidth is obtained in terms of returning loss greater than 20dB and the isolation is better than -25dB over the range of 1.6 to 2.4GHz. The measured phase difference between two output ports is about 1800 ±60 from 1.6 to 2.2GHz. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.

A YOLOv5-based Deep Learning Model for In-Situ Detection and Maturity Grading of Mango 基于yolov5的芒果原位检测与成熟度分级深度学习模型

In this paper, the researchers focused on identifying mangoes using YOLOv5 and classifying their degree of ripeness using CIELAB color space. The researchers used YOLOv5 to identify mangoes and CIELAB to classify their ripeness in this study. CIELAB is the recommended color system because it closely resembles how the human eye perceives color. Because the OpenCV feature reads frames in RGB, the researchers need a way to transform those RGB pixels into the more common L*a*b* color space. L* (lightness), a* (red-green), and b* (blue-yellow) are the three dimensions in which colors are defined in the CIELAB system (yellow-blue). The researchers used both the* and b* channels to determine the range of ripe and unripe mangoes. The system operates on a Raspberry Pi 4 connected to a camera that captures real-time video feed. Results showed that the gadget could recognize mangoes even when mixed with other fruit types with comparable sizes, shapes, and colors. However, there are times when the device may mistake a lemon for a mango, possibly due to the camera’s poor color perception, darkened areas within the acquired image, or insufficient illumination. The researchers suggest selecting a response time between three and five seconds as the camera must accurately detect the fruit. Overall, the accuracy values obtained from the tests done under artificial and actual in-store lighting were 86.26% and 83.08%.

Efficient CFO Estimation for Multi-User OFDM with Leaky Wave Antenna 漏波天线下多用户OFDM的高效CFO估计

In this paper, we propose an efficient estimation method for resolving the challenge related to the carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimator technique for multi-user OFDM systems when the base station (BS) employs the beam-scanned leaky wave antenna (LWA). We consider that the LWA can change the scanning frequency, which can perform the CFO estimation independently for each user, thereby reducing interference within the subcarriers. The proposed CFO estimator scheme utilizes the subspace MUSIC (multiple signal classification) estimation algorithms developed by computing correlation matrix through the eigendecomposition process. We further compute the CRLB to serve as a performance benchmark with the developed MUSIC scheme. Finally, different numerical results are available to justify the effectiveness of the proposed studies under different configurations.

BMI Estimation from 2D Face Images Using Support Vector Machine 基于支持向量机的二维人脸图像BMI估计

Several studies on predicting Body Mass Index (BMI) based on face images have already been conducted. However, a lack of study employs machine learning to predict BMI. Furthermore, these studies only include Caucasian and African subjects, indicating that Asians are lacking. A system that utilizes the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm was developed in this study to classify BMI from 2D face images by analyzing facial features. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ was employed as the main microcomputer, and Raspberry Pi Camera version 1.3 was utilized to capture face images. The classifier model was trained with five hundred two (502) samples, including various ethnicities, age groups, and weight categories. They are underweight, normal, overweight, and obese. The system was tested on twenty-five (25) subjects for each of the four (4) BMI classes with a total of one hundred (100) samples. The results of the system were evaluated using a confusion matrix and obtained an accuracy score of 91%. This demonstrates that the SVM for BMI estimation has a high accuracy rate.

A Design of Dual-Band Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antenna 双频圆极化微带天线的设计

In order to meet the increasingly frequent communication requirements between data link networks working in different frequency bands, a design of dual-band circularly polarized microstrip antenna is proposed. Based on the basic form of the microstrip antenna, this antenna has dual-band circularly polarized radiation characteristics by cutting four centrally rotationally symmetrical equal-arm U-shaped slots on the square-cut corner patch. The radiation mechanism and structure of this type of antenna are studied and analyzed using electromagnetic simulation software, and a dual-band circularly polarized antenna with operating at 1.85GHz and 4.24GHz is designed, which radiate left-handed circularly polarized waves in low and high frequency. The impedance bandwidth is 1.83~1.89GHz and 4.17~4.29GHz when S11 less than -10dB, the gain reaches 5dB at the central low frequency, and reaches 7.1dB at the high frequency, the axial ratios at the two frequency points are both less than 3dB.

Design of Multichannel Data Acquisition System Based on FPGA and MCU 基于FPGA和单片机的多通道数据采集系统设计

A multi-channel (9*X) data acquisition system based on FPGA and MCU is developed, which can be used for signal field strength detection of base station equipment such as RFID. The system consists of data acquisition array, central controller, embedded firmware, and upper computer. Using the modular design method, the data acquisition array can be designed by changing the number of channels. The single-channel data acquisition module has a sampling resolution of 16 bits, a sampling rate of 200 kSPS/ch and dynamic range 70dB. The master-slave architecture is used to realize multi-channel synchronous acquisition of data. When the central controller communicates with the upper computer, it controls the operation of the single-channel data acquisition module and obtains the sampling data in a parallel manner. The embedded firmware is written in Verilog and C language to realize data acquisition, buffering, and sending and receiving of uplink and downlink signaling. The upper computer has the functions of system control and communication, establishes a data link with the central controller through the Ethernet cable, and obtains multi-channel sampling data through signaling. The system verifies the performance of the multi-channel data acquisition system through Analog-to-digital converter, single-channel data acquisition module and system performance test.

Audiovisual Language Trends in Music Videos: A Review of the Scientific Literature from 2010 to 2020 音乐录影带中的视听语言趋势:2010 - 2020年科学文献综述

This systematic review aims to determine the audiovisual language trends in video clips according to the scientific literature from 2010 to 2020. Likewise, the articles obtained were found in the Ebsco, Redalyc, and ProQuest databases. The words “language” and “audiovisual” were used to carry out the exclusion and inclusion of the articles. The synthesis method was applied using categories to carry out the research, and the reading comprehension technique and underlining were used to obtain information. The results are related to the audiovisual language of music videos and it was found that the rhythm allows a relationship between the length of shots and the sequence. Likewise, visual elements such as shots, and angles, among others, significantly contribute to production. Likewise, the tools that are used allow the production to have the power to transmit the essence of audiovisual aesthetics. On the other hand, there were limitations such as articles in other languages like Portuguese and English, and restricted access to scientific research in databases. In conclusion, the use of rhythm can lead to the variation of balance in the sequences. Furthermore, the use of shots as a language is applied throughout the audiovisual production, which is enriched by the variety that makes up the set of images. In addition, the music videos present techniques where the production has exceptional dynamism, as previously stated.

Contention Window Adaptive Adjustment Strategy for Fairness in Multi-rate IEEE 802.11 Network 多速率IEEE 802.11网络中公平性的竞争窗口自适应调整策略

The wireless network technology represented by IEEE 802.11 technology plays an increasingly important role in practice. However, in the multi-node and multi-rate network scenario, this technology will produce abnormal performance, resulting in high-speed and medium-speed nodes. The throughput drops to the same as the throughput of the low-speed node, which reduces the total throughput of the system and degrades the performance. Aiming at this problem, a solution (TRCWAA) is designed. Through the minimum contention window, the size of the minimum contention window of each node is inversely proportional to its transmission rate, so as to realize the reasonable allocation of channel resources. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show that the TRCWAA strategy can well solve the problem of abnormal performance and unfairness, greatly improve the network fairness, and improve the total throughput of the system. In addition, the significant advantage of this method is that it only needs to make minor modifications on the basis of 802.11, that is, to adjust the minimum contention window size according to the transmission rate. Its physical implementation is very simple and convenient. No modification to the hardware, so it is easy to implement and generalize in real networks.

Digital convergence over the last years has implemented several positive and negative aspects in the media. This scenario brings new challenges for traditional journalists, due to the emergence of technological tools that are the main areas of consumption today. To understand the subject, the following research question arose: What are the effects of digital convergence in digital journalism platforms over the last ten years? The information search was carried out using the Scopus database, with articles in Spanish in Ibero-America. The type of study used was the systematic review of the scientific literature, as well as the Prisma method. On the other hand, the information obtained from the articles found was divided into four categories. The limitations reported are related to the language and the scarce information on the subject in countries of the Latin American region. In conclusion, the analyzed works show that the effects of digital convergence caused drastic changes in the teaching and performance of journalism due to the emergence of digital platforms. The subject calls for further research due to its importance for future professionals in the field of Communications.
