The research examines the impacts of ring roads (ring road and regional ring road) around Greater Cairo on supporting development; by studying 11 links between the two ring roads; passing through six governorate within four regions; To know the role of ring roads in overcoming the indiscriminate growth of urban and rural agglomerations around Greater Cairo. Previous studies were reviewed for methods of measuring development resulting from the existence of ring roads and the conditions for ring roads to influence better communications and development between the center and the suburbs. This research tracks urban growth on these ring roads using before and after case-study methodology in the period (2006-2020), and the various case study methodology, to identify strong factors affecting development and to exclude weak factors The research concluded that ring roads are the main thrust of urban growth. for its effect on increasing areas of development, and reduction in inter-link migration and is one of the factors helping to improve communications and development between the center and the suburbs, The review found that the lack of migration with some links indicated that the new development zones had not achieved their target population attraction, despite the diversity of available resources, Therefore, development must be managed, and planning is made to upgrade infrastructure and services and attract activities, population, and investments towards the new Shimaa Mohammed Hamdy derbala; usama Helmy Mohmmed 1, Assistant professor; Faculty of Engineering, Minia University The Impact of Ring Roads Around Greater Cairo ... يواجه التعليم الجامعي في مجال العمارة والبناء تحديا کبيرا منذ ظهور تقنية نمذجة معلومات البناءBuilding information modelling (BIM) التي غيرت من أساليب الممارسة الفعلية لصناعة البناء، وطورت أيضا طرق وأساليب قياس الکميات وتقدير التکلفة لأعمال البناء، مما يستوجب إعادة النظر في الإستراتيجيات والطرق التي يتم بها تعليم وتدريس الطلاب أعمال القياس في برامج التعليم الجامعي المتعلقة بالعمارة والبناء، التي مازالت يتم فيها الترکيز بشکل کبير على تعليم الطرق التقليدية بالتفصيل والقليل من إستخدام تطبيقات البرامج المتخصصة في ذلک، من منطلق هذه الإشکالية قام الباحث بتطوير منهجية مزدوجة لتدريس وتعليم القياس لأعمال البناء في مناهج التعليم المعماري، حيث تفترض الدراسة أن الجمع بين فهم أسس ومبادئ عمليات القياس التقليدية مع إستخدام إمکانيات وأدوات تقنية نمذجة معلومات البناء في التنفيذ سوف يسهل أساليب التعليم والتعلم ويحسن أداء الطلاب، وتهدف الدراسة إلى تطوير وتحسين تعليم مبادئ وأسس القياس ببرامج التعليم المعماري الجامعي، وتم إستخدام المنهج التجريبي لقياس مدى فاعلية المنهجية المقترحة في تدريس مقرر المواصفات وحساب الکميات الذي يقدم لطالبات برنامج التصميم الداخلي بجامعة طيبة بالمملکة العربية السعودية، حيث قام الباحث بصياغة المنهجية وعرض خطة لتطوير المقرر بما يتناسب معها، وشرح مراحل التطبيق وتقييم فاعليتها في تحسين أداء الطالبات من خلال نتائج الإختبارات النظرية والعملية وتقييم المشروع التطبيقي، ثم تقديم إستبيان لإستطلاع أراء الطالبات لتقييم جودة وفاعلية المنهجية والمهارات والتقنيات المستخدمة وتحليل إجابات الإستبيان بالطرق الإحصائية الوصفية، وإستخلاص النتائج التي کان من أهمها إمکانية تفعيل المنهجية في تدريس القياس ببرامج التعليم المعماري لزيادة کفاءة الأداء والإحترافية والدقة لمخرجات التعليم والتعلم ولتأهيل الطلاب لمواکبة المهارات المطلوبة بسوق العمل. Architecture undergraduate education has been facing a major challenge scince the emergence of building information modelling technology that has changed the practice methods of the construction industry, and also developed methods of measurement and cost estimation for construction works. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the methods of teaching measurement. In which there is still a great emphasis on traditional methods and little of using specialized BIM software applications. Based on this problem, the researcher developed a dual methodology for teaching building measurement. The study assumes that combining understanding principles of traditional measurement processes with using (BIM) capabilities, will facilitate teaching and learning and improve student performance. The study aims to develop and improve teaching the foundations of measurement. The experimental method was used to measure the effectiveness of the proposed methodology in teaching the interior design program students at Taibah University in Saudi Arabia. The researcher presented a plan to develop the course, explained the stages, and evaluated its effectiveness in improving the performance, then submitted a questionnaire to survey the students’ opinions and analyzed their responses by descriptive statistical methods. Industrial practice is vital to achieving economic growth and prosperity in both developed and developing countries - of which Egypt is one. However, it harms the environment by high rates of consumption, depletion of natural resources and disposal of waste. Therefore, transformation of the conventional industrial system to be compatible with the ecosystem and its capabilities to renew itself is necessary. This approach requires minimization of waste, extraction of raw materials and use of nonrenewable resources. This can be accomplished through Industrial Ecology (IE) and Industrial Symbiosis (IS), which maximize utilization of resources in the production process by using waste as a valuable “by-product” rather than disposing it in landfills. Hence, based on normative and experimental literature in IE, IS and previous eco-industrial parks (EIP) experiences, this research attempts to provide an intellectual framework for the planning process for the transformation of conventional industrial zones (CIZs) into EIPs. It is composed of five stages: selection of industrial zones, local context analysis, planning eco-industrial park (EIP), community participation & raising awareness and organizational structure. we hope that this research will represent a reference starting point in the field of industrial ecology planning for urban planners, practitioners and academics and to be a contribution to the scientific debate related to transforming CIZs to EIPs

Smart city is one of the powerful concepts that have deep impacts on contemporary cities. Planners, developers, and authorities thought that change to smart city using information and communication technologies could enhance the quality of urban life; rather, still their impact on long-term change of social life and consequently on social sustainability in contemporary cities is not fully investigated. Some scholars argued that moving from conventional to smart city will greatly encourage social activities in urban space. In contrast, this research argues that increasing people familiarity with ICT will create new urban behavioral patterns that could build great barrier to urban social sustainability. It aims to take the proper precautions for any expected negative impacts on social sustainability. The research adopts a case study of three parks in Madinaty, Egypt. It aims to find the correlation exists between people familiarity with ICT and changing behavioral patterns. It is concluded that smart cities have great consequences on changing patterns of urban behavior, city spatial structure and urban social sustainability. The research recommends smart design guidelines using social, communicative, and collective activities to mitigate any expected social risks of smartness.

Safety and comfort are considered as the most important elements for the success of bike-lanes and are achieved by applying the streetscape elements, which in turn enhances the function of the bike-lane and supports its movement, bike-lanes always need protection on various types of roads speed and width to be safe and comfortable, and encouraging their use and protection Egypt tendency to encourage environmental-friendly transportation means in several places where cultures and executive conditions differed, so the research attempts to study forms of bike-lanes protection and their suitability for streets and reconcile this matrix in a manner that depends on several factors such as road widths, speed, traffic intensity, main road function, land use & the user's awareness and the culture, which are important factors for choosing the appropriate form of protection and the execution method developing projects of bike-lanes in an Egyptian city and trying to read those elements in the urban fabric in which the bike-lanes was implemented exploring the most important results for the bikes protecting means and their inclusion with the urban environment and its impact on the success or failure of this new transportation system.
