Conformal arrays of double-sided printed dipoles 双面印刷偶极子的共形阵列

Low pmNe printed antennas are an attractive solution for coniormal appiications. This paper presents design and measured results of two X-band conformal arrays of 4 x 4 printed dipoles. The radiating elements were printed on both sides of a thin and flexible substrate and then wraped around a conducting cylinder of small radius (a % 1.5xo) with a honeycomb spacer (a, % 1, k = 0.15Xo) in between. This structure allows for large bandwidth while minimizing surface-wave and network radiation losses [I]. The dipoles orientation is a x i a l for one antenna (Fig. 1) and azimuthal for the second one (Fig. 2). A theory developed for the analysis of printed antennas on cyIiidricaI bodies 121, [3] was used to maximize the directivity in t of the inter-element spacing. The experimental results including: radiation patterns, gains (17-18 dB) and bandwidths (15-20%) show the ability to achieve broadband arrays with gains and patterns in reasonable agreement with theoretical predictions.

The currently increasing demand for all weather landing capabilities (CATIII) requires adapted high performance ILS-Localizer antennas. Antenna nearfield effects and given site circumstances set limitations on the use of very large aperture antennas because site reflections are caused actually by the effective nearfield amplitudes. Results of a realized high performance ILS-Loc-2F antenna are presented.

The need for planar phased arrays capable of operating over an octave band with two-plane scan out to 30 deg. has led to fresh ways to array the elements in grids and to suppress the level of peak grating lobes. With these grids the maximum size of the element is set only by considerations of scan loss so the number of elements may be reduced to about a third of that of a conventional triangular grid array with interelement spacings set to avoid grating lobes in array visible space.

A generalized method for the evaluation of mutual coupling in microstrip arrays 一种评价微带阵列相互耦合的广义方法

An analytical method for the evaluation of mutual coupling in microstrip arrays is discussed. The elements of the array are excited by microstriplines printed on or embedded in the substrate. As an example, the mutual coupling between microstrip dipoles electromagnetically coupled to embedded strip transmission lines is evaluated accurately. The presented method is valid in the millimeter range as weft as at microwave frequencies and does not have any substrate limitations. Also, it accounts for conductor thickness and surface wave excitation. Comparison with experimental results shows excellent agreement.

An improved moment method for the scattering by large conducting cylinders 大型导电圆柱体散射的改进矩量法

In this paper we show that the use of the method of moments [l] together with the exact solution for the scattering by a single scatterer can be combined to produce an efficient solution for the scattering by multiple bodies without any restriction. The total scattered field is divided into two components, namely a non-interaction term and a term due to all interactions between the scatterers. The non-interaction term is expressed exactly, whereas the interaction field is evaluated using the ordinary method of moments. The method is applied here to two circular conducting cylinders although it can be employed for any arbitrary number of cylinders.
