This study ascertained the effect of corporate governance compositions on timeliness of financial reporting in deposit money banks in Nigeria. Ex Post Facto research design was employed for this study. Purposive sampling was used to select eight (8) deposit money banks in Nigeria with international authorization. Data were extracted from annual reports and accounts of the sampled banks and analyzed with regression analysis. The results show that board size has a positive and significant effect on financial reporting timeliness deposit money banks in Nigeria, while audit committee independence has a positive but insignificant effect on financial reporting timeliness of deposit money banks in Nigeria. Therefore, on the basis of the findings and conclusions of the study, the study recommends among other things that the number of banks board of directors should play a vital role in how well it can oversee daily operations of the institution and monitor management.

This also expands human comfort, yet in addition, builds its way of life. In any case, on the opposite side, it likewise increments environmental danger that came about biological dangers to person. This article highlights the importance of green HRM practices for effective green marketing. The green human asset (the executives) has to make green mindfulness among the new ability and the current representative working for the association, energize their workers for helping the association to lessen the reasons for ecological debasement through green development, green projects and practices, hold the assets for the group of people yet to come. This study examined the role of the legislators and budget process in Nigeria. For the objective of the study to be achieved, the study embraces the library research which involves a review of extant literature and this forms the basis for drawing up the conclusion. Flowing from the review, the study shows that argument has been raised by several analysts that legislative oversight committees have found not to be very effective in stimulating Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for budget outcomes attainment. The argument is that oversight activities are used by some legislative committees to intimidate rather than encouraging (MDAs) to perform at the optimum levels especially in the areas of budget implementation. The study therefore recommends that the legislators in the Nigeria budget process should ensure that the MDAs make proper use of the funds allocated to them efficiently and effectively with a view to preventing careless spending, diversion as well as the misappropriation of public funds. The oversight activities of the legislative committees should be used to encourage MDAs to perform at the optimum levels especially in the areas of budget implementation and not to intimidate.

This study examines the asymmetric effects of the structural oil price shocks and COVID-19 pandemic on four uncertainty indexes. The author used the SVAR approach for the period 31-Dec-2019 to 28-Jun-2020. The results indicate that the effects are asymmetric of oil price shocks. The author also finds that COVID-19 shocks lead to positive responses to the economic policy uncertainty index. In addition, oil prices (their shocks) have a negative impact on the four indicators of uncertainty. Consequently, governments should actively take effective measures to prevent crude oil prices from shocking and maintain stable economic policies.

This study focuses on analyzing the factors affecting the production and business efficiency of cement manufacturing enterprises in Tuyen Quang province. Production and business efficiency is measured by profitability ratios including return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and return on sales (ROS). Using a quantitative research method through estimating a linear regression model based on data of two cement manufacturing companies in the period 2019-2021, the research results show that the factors affecting business efficiency of cement manufacturing enterprises in Tuyen Quang province include size of enterprise, cost ratio, average collection period, inventory turnover, fixed assets turnover and debt ratio.

Stakeholders’ concern towards the ecological damage arising out of emissions from the industrial processes has raised serious issues before the industrial sectors. Environmentalists and researchers are raising these issues in various forums. Few industrial sectors are well informed about environmental protection and act accordingly to address these issues by complying with environmental norms. However, some firms are more ethical in their business and proactively redefine their operations and policies beyond the regulatory requirements. What factors compel these firms to go beyond the extant laws to protect the environment? This study statistically analyses India’s cement sector for the factors that may be the drivers of environmental proactivity. Using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), eight hypotheses were tested. The study’s findings can be helpful for the policymakers, environmental managers, and industrial sectors to frame policies for environmental protection, which will redound to societal benefit.

The environmental approval for a project is generally granted with a set of terms and conditions to the project proponent. The environmental clearance (EC) letters for 33 infrastructure projects were examined for the relevance, adequacy, and enforceability of the EC conditions. Using the basic tenets of the EIA process, it is found that the long list of irrelevant, inadequate, and unenforceable conditions is greenwash and unsuited for best practice EIA follow-up, hence meeting the EIA objectives. The conditions should be directed at measuring the environmental performance of the project to catalyze achieving sustainability targets. The conditions for stringent supervision and frequent inspection of the site activities in the construction phase could help ensure the implementation of the proposed mitigation measures for infrastructure projects. A comprehensive environmental impact assessment framework may use the principles of the ABC analysis to prioritize the properly specified EC conditions, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement for the best practice EIA follow-up and hence strengthen the EIA system.

Consumers’ willingness to engage in green consumption behavior will be guided by internal psychological factors and also influenced by external environmental factors. One of the most common external interventions is the issuance of scientific policies and regulations. The government may introduce policies and regulations that help to increase the willingness of green consumption behavior, such as energy-saving and emission reduction policies and policies to restrict plastic products. In this paper, the authors study the mechanism of the effect of environmental attitudes on consumers’ willingness to engage in green consumption behavior from the perspective of “plastic restriction”, and conclude that the magnitude of the effect of policies and regulations on the willingness to engage in green consumption behavior varies significantly at different levels of environmental attitudes. This study provides scientific implementation ideas and targeted management suggestions for the government to formulate effective external intervention policies for green consumption.

This article aims to analyze the distinction between the concepts of economic growth, economic development, sustainable development and environmental justice; the inter-action between Environmental Law and Economics in the paradigm of environmental justice, and what is the purpose of such interaction; and environmental justice as a possible solution to the installed state of environmental imbalance. To this end, the concepts of economic growth, economic development, sustainable development and environmental justice are investigated; Complexity Theory and its transdisciplinary approach; and environmental justice as a new order capable of reversing a state of installed environmental imbalance. To obtain the results desired by the research, the method of approach to be followed will be the empirical-dialectical, using bibliographic research, having as a reference system of the Law and Economics of Richard A. Posner. In conclusion, it is pointed out that there is a need for a new development model, which, based on transdisciplinarity, should seek solutions in favor of socioeconomic-environmental balance for present and future generations, as a way of overcoming the state of environmental imbalance installed, as well as all the economic, political, cultural, social and environmental impacts caused by it.

Customer service is the act of supporting customers of a business that can break a business or generate profit in the competitive environment with growing customers’ expectations. Regarding the critical role of customer service to differentiate between businesses, it is considered as one of the top considerations in businesses. However, there is a range of key factors that are tied to the success of a customer service provider in offering quality customer service that will eventually lead the business through exceeding or falling short in responding to customers’ expectations. Besides, businesses are prone to face some challenges in the employment of customer services that are required to be addressed.
