In this paper has been studied about design of safety system for prevent thievery vehicle at parking area and implemented at miniature. This system consisted of camera from webcam at entrance gate, main computer at center and scanner at portal gate. The image of plate taken by webcam processed by computer using Open Source Computer Visual (OpenCV) library who have Optical Character recognition (OCR) and tesseract function till became string data and finally saved in database at computer via XAMPP - MySQL. After string data saved in database the program generate audio signal as input who processed by Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) at microcontroller ATMEGA8535 for finally moving servo motor as automatic bar at entrance gate. The data which already saved at database in computer is ready to be checked at portal gate side which if string data taken by scanner from vehicle registration certificate is match with data who saved in database, the automatic bar at portal gate would be opened with the same method from automatic bar at entrance gate otherwise it the automatic bar at portal gate wouldn't active.

Increasing of electric power consumption and electricity price are making customers more sensitive in addressing the issues. Therefore, the accuracy of the recording device power consumption (kWh-meter) becomes an absolute necessity to reduce potential conflicts that may arise. This paper proposed prototype of smart-meter which combines transient peak value and steady state values to identify an activity of electrical appliances. These values are used as the identity of electrical appliances that will be taught to Constructive Backpropagation Neural Network (CBP-NN) to record power consumption in detail, including type appliance and time use. The proposed method has very simple structure, it only uses two input (transient peak value and steady state values) and single hidden layer with five neuron. The number of output is equal to the number of appliance. So that, the proposed method implement in microsprocessor system or in standalone product. Simulation and experimental results have validated the performance of the proposed method to operate in a real system.

As meteorological conditions can be unique in different countries and may have influence on electricity demand, providing demand model to analyze characteristic of demand is useful as obtained information can be used to manage related power systems better. This paper proposes regression based demand model to identify typical characteristic of demand in Indonesia more detail. Three different demand areas (Racing-Area, Poltek-Area, and Paropo Area) in Makassar, Indonesia including their total demand (Total-Area) are analyzed by creating demand model. The demands are correlated with meteorological parameters (temperature functions, relative humidity, and wind speed) and holidays. Individual characteristics are firstly observed to obtain main drivers and their typical effect on each demand area. Furthermore, general characteristics are analyzed to find common characteristic of demand such as what variables influence electricity demand generally. Several options for model are calculated and assessed by statistical tests to get best model. Results indicate more information concerning characteristic of demands can be revealed by models which are well validated. Each demand area has individual characteristic as demand drivers and their effect are relatively different between areas. Other results concerning general characteristic confirm temperature functions, relative humidiy, and holidays are important driver for demand. The variables are quite good to explain electricity demand generally as adjusted coefficient of determination of model (R2') is 76.42%.

The boost inverter is used to transforms a single step of DC voltage into an amplified AC voltage. The inverter is associated with a DC voltage source as the input, in order to create decentralized single phase AC electrical network. In order to control this inverter, the combination of proportional integrator (PI) and hysteresis controller is proposed, and has better performances compared to results of the sliding mode control one.

Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) is a computer based instructional system that assigns intelligent question depending on student's response. It is important to adjust the student level and question difficulty level to acquire an adaptive system. So, this study focus on building up a framework to automatically adjust the student level and question difficulty level using fuzzy logic and modified items response theory.

Short message service (SMS) that has been widely used in various fields could potentially utilized for problem-solving consulting services that are based on expert system, so it takes a kind of application platform to implement this service. This paper proposes an expansion of online expert system services (web and wap based) by adding an application use SMS interface. Knowledge base of the expert system, which employs a decision tree approach, is expressed in the form of a database that can be accessed by the application interfaces, including SMS interface. According to the experiment results, the decision tree has been able to play a role directing the consultation mechanism from an initial question to reach a conclusion interactively. Thus, a problem-solving case that can be expressed in the decision tree allows the implementation of this system.

In the age of 0-2 years, infants are introduced to foods. But parents could not give food carelessly because in this age infants are vulnerable to allergies. This condition causes parents to consider age and allergies in infant feeding. This application uses the forward chaining and backward chaining method to provide recommendations for infant nutrition in accordance with the age and allergies. The age and allergy constraints are used to make rules to give recommendations for any food ingredient fit the circumstances and determine whether the food is suitable to the infant's conditions. There are four most common types of allergies as the constraint in infant's feeding that is lactose intolerance, casein of cow's milk, egg and fish. Usability testing showed a good result namely 79.5 %.

In this work a prototype of an S-band surveillance radar for maritime applications has been developed. The radar prototype, named INDERA MS-1, will be adopted by local industry to produce maritime radars in Indonesia. INDERA MS-1 is an FMCW radar system with only 5 Watt transmit power. The first outdoor trial of the radar was carried out successfully and as a result, INDERA MS-1 became the first indigenous S-band radar ever built in Indonesia.

This paper describes the temperature response analysis due to the heat effect as a result of microwave hyperthermia irradiation in biological medium for a finite duration time. Since we use the on and off irradiation method, realized by pulse width signal with certain duty cycle value, it is important to know whether the on heating duration can generate sufficient desired heat and the off duration decrease significantly. The bioheat transfer equation and its approximation can help us in analyzing the above relation. According to the analysis and real experiment, our proposed pulse width irradiation with 10s pulse period and its duty cycle variation values used in our 2.45 GHz microwave hyperthermia system can provide sufficient temperature increase during on duration and not significant decrease temperature during off duration, to get the required hyperthermia temperature response.

Building's design complexities caused the essential need of multiple disciplines participants and the implementation of collaborative design's concept in its process. Participants' diversities made collaboration is difficult to be applied. The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has important role in supporting collaborative design process, particularly if the participants are geographically dispersed. ICT has been developed in collaborative design, both practically and theoretically. Previous studies of collaborative design researches had found the used of ICT produced issues that generated failures in achieving best design as an integrated solution. Knowledge Management (KM) is found to be crucial factor in supporting ICT-based collaborative design, especially in realizing integrated collaborative design. This study aims to discover issues, roles, and impacts of KM to achieve integration in ICT-based collaborative design practices. Both qualitative and quantitative studies were applied. Qualitative study through literature review was conducted to construct the conceptual model of KM. Subsequently, quantitative study was applied to empirically confirm the conceptual model to designers and consultants whom have experience in design process of high-rise buildings by using correlation and regression analysis. The results of this study are conceptual and empirical model of KM and ICD, in which the model can be used to develop ICT-based tools and systems in achieving Integrated Collaborative Design (ICD).
