The concentrations of trace elements in sphalerite from blocks 7, 700 and 149-south of the copper-gold high (to intermediate) sulphidation Chelopech deposit were determined by LA-ICP-MS. Their average contents in ppm based on 27 analyses are: Cu (2124) > Fe (4166) > Cd (1302) > Pb (504) > Sb (460) > Mn (439) > As (337) > Ga (173) > Ge (152) > Ag (143) > Hg (97) > In (37) > Tl (33) > Se (25) > Ti (15) > Mo (12) > Sn (7) > Te, Au (6) > V (5) > Pd (4) > Bi (3) > W (1) > Co (0.3).
采用LA-ICP-MS测定了高(中)硫化切洛佩奇铜矿南7、700和149区块闪锌矿中微量元素的含量。根据27次分析,它们的平均ppm含量为:Cu (2124) > Fe (4166) > Cd (1302) > Pb (504) > Sb (460) > Mn (439) > As (337) > Ga (173) > Ge (152) > Ag (143) > Hg (97) > in (37) > Tl (33) > Se (25) > Ti (15) > Mo (12) > Sn (7) > Te, Au (6) > V (5) > Pd (3) > W (1) > Co(0.3)。

The usual main purpose of the zircon investigation is to determine the precise age of particular rocks, applying the U-Pb isotope method. In this study we attempt to reveal the vast potential of zircons in understanding the magmatic and modification processes, as well as the structure of the deeper Earth’s interior, using the analysis of the zircon population of the major volcanic variety in the Ruen tectono-magmatic zone, Kyustendil area, SW Bulgaria. The ascending magmas crosscut different rock types and units along their path to the Earth’s surface. Using the zircon crystal analysis, we may make consideration about the age and chemical characteristics of these units. The trace and rare earth element (REE) content of the zircons brings insights for the rock formation time and discloses characteristics of the deeper parts of the Earth’s crust.

The purpose of this article is to provide greater clarity on rockfall phenomena and the reasons for their occurrence. Rockfall are gravitational phenomena that occur in rocky terrain with a significant slope of more than 50 degrees. They are characterized by their instantaneous development, the complexity of their prediction and assessment. Rockfalls causes significant damage to buildings and infrastructure, as well as human casualties. This is also the case with the rockfall on the road I-1 Sofia-Botevgrad in the area of the village of Vrachesh at the foot of the Shuntova Chuka hill (652.3 m) in the Bilo Planina Mountain. The rockfall affected part of the electricity transmission network in the area, the road infrastructure and poses a potential danger to people who use the water of the spring at the base of the rock massif.

As part of a cross-border cooperation program project between Bulgaria and Greece (Interreg), the geotourism potential of the municipality of Madan has been assessed. The assessment was made of the possibilities for the conversion of abandoned mine workings into tourist sites. Eight (8) geotopes are described and the creation of 2 geo-trails is proposed.

The present study characterizes some microclimatic differences on the northern slope of the Western Rhodopes Mountains. The data for the analysis are based on the observations at three points: Brestovitsa at the foot, Bryanovshtitsa on the slope and Vurhovruh hut on the ridge, during July and August. Average temperatures, average minimum and maximum temperatures as well as the absolute minimum and maximum temperatures were established. They decrease naturally in accordance with altitude change, showing a dependence on synoptic conditions and microclimatic differences. The vertical temperature gradient is calculated for the studied parameters, with the largest values for the absolute maximum temperature amounting to 1.1 °C and the smallest for the absolute minimum and mean minimum temperature amounting to 0.5 °C. The largest values of the vertical temperature gradient for all parameters were observed between Brestovitsa and Bryanovstitsa.
