Toplumsal Yük ve Kariyer: Konaklama Sektöründeki Kadın Yöneticilerin Kariyer Gelişimlerini Etkileyen Toplumsal Cinsiyet Faktörlerinin Analizi

Bu calismanin temel amaci konaklama isletmelerinde cesitli yonetsel pozisyonlarda gorev yapan kadin yoneticilerin toplumsal cinsiyet dusunce ve algilarinin kariyer surecleri uzerindeki etkisini bulgulamak ve bu surecte yasadiklari deneyimleri ve zorluklari cinsiyet temelinde ortaya koymaktir. Bu amac dogrultusunda Antalya Il merkezinde konaklama isletmelerinde cesitli pozisyonlarda gorev yapan 14 kadin yonetici kolay ulasilabilir durum orneklemesi yoluyla secilmistir. Arastirma verilerinin toplanmasinda derinlemesine gorusme teknigi ve yari yapilandirilmis gorusme formundan yararlanilmistir. Calisma nitel arastirma desenlerinden biri olan olgubilim deseni kapsaminda yurutulmustur. Arastirma verilerinin analizinde icerik analiz tekniginden yararlanilmis ve veri analiz surecinde QSR NVivo 10 programi kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin analizleri sonucunda; Turkiye’de kadinin kariyer yapmasi konusundaki gorusler, sektorde kadinin kariyer yapmasini zorlastiran faktorler, kadinlarin sektordeki zorluklarla basa cikma davranislari, kadinin kariyer yapmasini kolaylastiran faktorler ve kadin erkek firsat esitligi konusundaki gorusler olmak uzere 5 adet kategori ve 28 adet kavramsal kod elde edilmistir. Elde edilen veriler butuncul olarak degerlendirildiginde toplumsal cinsiyet rolunun kadin yoneticilerin kariyer sureclerinde etkili oldugu tespit edilmistir. Buna ragmen kadinlarin coklu rolleri yurutebilme konusunda beceriye sahip olduklari, tum bu zorluk ve engellere ragmen vazgecmeyerek kariyerlerinde ilerlemeyi tercih ettikleri ve bu anlamda mucadele ettikleri elde edilen sonuclar arasindadir.

Dış Ticaretin Türkiye’den Almanya’ya Giden Göçmenler Üzerindeki Etkisi: ARDL Sınır Testi Yaklaşımı

Due to developments in the field of transportation and communication, communication and technological facilities have sped up the migration movements between countries by reducing the cost of migration. Additionally, as a result of developments in facilities and technology provided by globalization, the trade volume of the world is increasing rapidly. This study tested the impact of foreign trade on migrants from EXTENDED ABSTRACT Migration and foreign trade are two important components of globalization. The relationship between migration and foreign trade has been investigated in the literature for many years. The relationship between foreign trade and migration is put forward as a substitution relationship in the context of traditional foreign trade theories. According to the Heckscher – Ohlin theory, countries obtain a comparative advantage in the trade of goods that requirefactor abundance. (Heckscher,1949). The migration flow from one country to another means more labor inflows into that country. While wages rise in the migrant-sending country (due to the drop in labor supply), wages fall in the receiving country. Thus, factor prices converge between the two countries. This convergence eliminates the pre-immigration comparative advantage and has a dissuasive effect on trade. (Samuelson, 1969). Instead of the “constant return to scale” assumption of the Heckscher-Ohlin-Samuelson theorem, Krugman’s (1980) theoretical assumptions take into account that markets produce under imperfect competition and are based on the contribution of firm externality and economies of scale to countries production structures. Within these assumptions, the positive effect of migration emerges on trade. (Markusen, 1983; Gould, 1994). The substitution relationship between migration and foreign trade has led to the use of trade as a policy instrument to reduce migration. The use of trade policies to reduce migration dates back to the 1970s. Political authorities have recommended that more import be made from those countries in order to reduce the flow of immigrants from southern and eastern countries. This view is compatible with the theoretical framework that defines the substitution relationship between foreign trade and migration (Schiff, 1996). activity in the context of network and human capital. While the first group give priority to theoretical foundations, the latter focuses on empirical analysis. (Gould, 1994; Eichegreen & Irwin, 1996; Head & Ries, 1998; Dunlevy and Hutchinson, 1999-2001; Girma & Yu, 2002; Rauch & Trindade, 2002; Wagner et al., 2002; Combes et al., 2002; Faustino & Leitão, 2008; Zarzosoa et al.,2009; Egger et al., 2011). According to the results of both studies, no significant relationship was found between migration and foreign trade. Sustainable Tourism and The Roles of Tour Guides in Destinations: A Qualitative Case Study in Turkey 可持续旅游和导游在目的地的角色:土耳其定性案例研究

Journal of Economy Culture and Society, 63, 149-163. https://doi.org/10.26650/JECS2020-0015 ABSTRACT The sustainable tourism approach is the way to ensure a destination’s development and protec-tion. Since there are important links between the visitor and the destination, tourist guides may contribute to the destination’s resources management and economic and socio-cultural impact. They could set a deep contact with tourists in destinations and have positive results on tourist sustainable behaviors. The aim of the study is to identify the dimensions of the roles attributed to tourist guides in the promotion of sustainable tourism and to determine the content of these roles within an exploratory perspective. In this research, the qualitative research method has been adopted in the phenomenology research design in order to reveal the meanings that tour guides have experienced. The data was obtained through deepinterviews with tourist guides and evalu-ated with descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings, the roles of the tourist guides are dimensioned as “adopting consulting role, taking over inspection, sustainability training, raising tourists’ awareness, promotion of the local economy, and sustainable tour management” within the context of sustainable tourism development. The paper indicates the contributions to the tourism literature with the determination of roles tourist guides serve in the promotion of sus-tainable tourism in detail, as limited studies have been conducted in Turkey.

2008 Financial Crisis: A Comparative Analysis of Turkey and Brazil in Terms of Economic Policies 2008年金融危机:土耳其与巴西经济政策的比较分析

Journal of Economy Culture and Society, 62, 185-207. https://doi.org/10.26650/JECS2020-0046 ABSTRACT The Financial Crisis, which broke out in the US due to the mortgage bubble, had spread through financial channels to core countries. The periphery countries that weren’t fully integrated into the financial markets had been influenced via economic ways, indirectly. However the crisis -spreading on a global scalehad had negative impacts on all countries and had led to changes in the economic policies of states. One of the possibilities of the crisis was for it to turn into a cyclical crisis because of its reach throughout the whole world and the failure of economic policies -applied to one after anotherin the preventing of the spread and impact of the crisis in a short time, resulting in economic and neoliberal policies being questioned. The periphery economies, being economically affected by the crisis, had to assume many economic costs due to mortgage loans in the US, which had nothing to do with them. In the study, through the examples of Brazil and Turkey within the framework of these discussions, the implication of economic policy has been examined for periphery countries. In the study, the way in which both countries were affected by the crisis has been evaluated through net capital flows, foreign direct investments, foreign trade data, and main economic indicators. Although neoliberal policies, which pushed both countries towards this process, had added them to the global economic system, they had to apply Keynesian policies because neoliberalism had become inadequate in exiting the crisis. In the conclusion of the study, policy proposals have been made for getting out of the crisis by discussing the ineffectiveness of the economic policies that had been implemented.

The Moderating Role of Work Engagement in the Relationship Between Work Values and Affective Organizational Commitment ABSTRACT This study focuses on the effects of work engagement and work values that are thought to be effective in providing the affective organizational commitment of Generation Y production workers in industry within the framework of the changes in working life. Thus, the interaction between work values and work engagement is emphasized in ensuring the affective organizational commitment of Generation Y production workers. the province of İzmir, Turkey. Work values were assessed through Lyons, Hig-gins, Chris and Duxbury’s (2010) Lyons Work Values Survey (LWVS). Next, to assess work engagement, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) developed by Schaufeli, Salanova, González-Romá and Bakker (2002) was used. Last, 6 items of Meyer and Allen’s (1991) Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) related to affective commitment were used to assess affective organizational commitment. According to the results of the study, work engagement was found to have a moderating role in three out of four dimensions of work values (intrinsic-present oriented, extrinsic-present oriented, and extrinsic-future oriented, with intrinsic-future oriented not found) and affective organizational commitment. In line with these findings, to ensure the affective organizational commitment of Generation Y production workers in industry, it is suggested to create an organizational environment that enables work engagement while giving importance to work values.

Occupation is central to the study and understanding of modern society. Today, it is possible to deal with many social problems, such as education, ABSTRACT Sociological research on occupations and professions in Turkey is in its infancy. It is not possible to find consistent and continuous data about occupations in nationwide surveys by relevant institutions such as TURKSTAT, Ministry of Labor, and SGK. On the other hand, data on the occupational struc ture of working life in Turkey is not fully available. Also, we do not have sufficient, standard, traceable, and reliable data regarding the components of professions, such as average earnings, education, gender, and age. Besides, professional associations and chambers do not have sufficient information and data about the relevant occupations. Cinsiyete Dayalı Ekonomik Eşitsizlikleri: Seçilmiş Kavramların incelenmesi

Economic inequality is a global phenomenon with all-encompassing implications. While inequality affects both men and women, due to the socially ascribed gender roles and expectations women are more prone to experience disparities. Based on a narrative review, the aim of this article is to provide a primer on four selected theories related to genderbased economic inequalities. The first section provides a brief overview of a) sexual division of labor b) the nimble fingers theory c) glass wall and glass ceiling effects and d) female-headed households and the feminization of poverty. The final section demonstrates the implications of these paradoxical economic phenomena in the Turkish context. The article explains how women from diverse socio-economic backgrounds are prone to labor market inequalities because of the intricate nature of structural biases. A plethora of literature is available on the Turkish context, highlighting the nuances of economic participation. The present article complements the existing body of literature, however, it adds a new dimension by offering the theoretical underpinnings behind the economic inequalities endured by Turkish women. Future research could explore the empirical evidence on the dynamics of economic disparity while considering the theoretical concepts discussed in this article.

Bu arastirmanin amaci imalat sektoru calisanlarinin etkilesim adaleti algisinin ise baglanma duzeylerine dogrudan ve dolayli etkilerini belirlemektir. Bu dogrultuda etkilesim adaletinin ise iliskin sorumluluk yoluyla ise baglanmayi etkileyip etkilemedigi sosyal degisim teorisi bakis acisiyla incelenmistir. Sosyal degisim orgutun calisanlara degerli kaynaklar saglamasiyla calisanlarin da bu kaynaklarin karsiligini verme yukumlulugu hissettigini one suren bir yaklasimdir. Arastirmada sosyal degisim bakis acisi dikkate alinarak orgut yoneticilerinin calisanlara adaletli davranislar sergilemesi davranisina, calisanlarin ise iliskin sorumluluk ve ise baglanma davranisiyla karsilik verecegi dusunulmus ve bu dogrultuda arastirma hipotezleri olusturulmustur. Bunun yaninda, arastirma sorumluluk degiskenini (araci degisken) genel bir kisilik ozelligi olarak degerlendirmemis; isle ilgili bir durum olarak ele almistir. Arastirma verileri Turkiye’de faaliyet gosteren bir imalat isletmesindeki 156 calisandan anket teknigi ile elde edilmistir. Arastirmada aciklayici ve dogrulayici faktor analizleri, korelasyon analizi, yol analizi ve yapisal esitlik modellemesi analizi kullanilmistir. Analizlerde etkilesim adaleti algisinin hem ise iliskin sorumlulugu hem de ise baglanmayi pozitif yonde etkiledigi belirlenmistir. Analiz bulgulari ise iliskin sorumluluk duygusunun artmasiyla ise baglanmanin da arttigini gostermistir. Ayrica bulgulardan etkilesim adaletinin ise baglanmaya etkisinde ise iliskin sorumlulugun kismi araci rol ustlendigi tespit edilmistir. Elde edilen bulgular Turkiye’deki kulturel baglam dikkate alinarak tartisilmistir.

Müzik, Kent ve Toplumsal Değişme: İstanbul’un Eski Çeper İlçelerinden Birinde Müzik Tercihleri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Bu makalenin ana amaci Turkiye’deki altkentlesme, modernlesme ve kulturel cogulluk oruntuleri bileskesinden yola cikarak kentsel yayilma ve muzik begenilerinin cesitliligini analiz etmektir. Buradan hareketle bu calisma Istanbul’un hizla gelisen eski ceper ilcelerinden biri olan Atasehir cercevesinde, Turkiye’de toplumsal degismenin muzik tercihleri uzerindeki etkisini arastirmaktadir. Arastirma, muzik tercihleri uzerine odaklanip, begenilerin belirleyicileri olarak sosyo-ekonomik ve kulturel degiskenler arka planini incelemektedir. Niceliksel arastirma yontemleri kullandigimiz arastirma modelimizde, populer, geleneksel ve sofistike stiller buyuk basliklari altinda gruplanmis on iki farkli muzik turune yonelik tercih oruntuleri analiz edilmistir. Analiz sonuclarimiza gore, diger tum muzik turlerine kiyasla pop muzik ile turku ya da Turk halk muziginin en cok tercih edilen turler oldugu saptanmistir. Arastirma bulgularindan hareketle, hizli kentlesme, goc hareketleri ve kuresellesmenin etkisi altinda bir ilcenin toplumsal tabakalarinin hem yuksek hem dusuk katmanlarinda, kuresel ve yerel muzik turlerinin melez estetik begeniler olusturacak sekilde bir arada bulundugu ortaya konulmustur. Buna gore, Istanbul’un cokkulturlu yapisina uygun olarak eskiden ceper ilce olup hizla gelisen bolgelerinde cok katmanli begeni kamulari aciga cikmakta, bu bolgede yasayanlar da kentin merkezinden farkli bir ortamda farkli gecmis ve sosyal arka plan ozellikleriyle bir kulturel yol agzi olusturmaktadir.
