The quality losses in the product increase when corn harvested not stored in optimum conditions. Therefore, conservation of corn without the quality deterioration and conserving the postharvest nutrient content during storage period in storage of corn is possible with storage structures designed with proper techniques. Because there are no adequate storage structures in response to increased corn production in Igdir province the importance of modern and large stores has been increased. The calculation of lateral project pressure according to low store design criteria in determining of the wall thickness has been made. In this study, design criteria of a reinforced concrete horizontal storage structure has been demonstrated with a sample project in order to maintain for a long time the quality of corn grown in Igdir province. As a result, the store wall thickness of 77 cm and 1000 W fan power for ventilation of product was determined.

In this study, tractor and agricultural machinery accidents that occured during farm and traffic operations in Tokat were analyzed and the results evaluated. In order to determine the details of the accidents, a questionnaire is prepared and delivered to the accident victims and eye witnesses on a face to face basis in the Tokat province that have occurred in the years 2000-2014. Total 285 tractor and agricultural machinery accidents survey forms are filled. The questionnaire includes the questions related with human, machine, time and environmental conditions. According to the findings, 82% of the accident victims are male,18% of the accident victims are female, 2.61% of the population affected by the accident is non-educated, 2.20% of the population affected by the accident is literate, 77.310% of the population affected by the accident is primary school graduates, 11.04% of the population affected by the accident junior high school graduates, 6.43% of the population affected by the accident is high school graduates, 0.40% of the population is university graduates. And also, it was determined that 28% of the victims are died, 51% of victims have an accident while tractor using, 9% of victims have an accident while agricultural machinery and equipments using, 21% of victims have been exposed to accidents while they were next to the tractor drivers, 49% of the accidents are overturn, loop, going out of the road, and 74% of the farm tractors involved that an accident did not have a proper cabin or safety roof. On the other hand, when the reasons of the accidents are examined, it is found that 60% of the accidents occurred due to the carelessness, 32% of the accidents occurred due to person other than the operator does not comply with the safety rules, 12% of the accidents occurred due to the absence of agricultural machinery and tractor maintenance, and 11% of the accidents occurred due to the lack of knowledge and training of the operator.

In this study, effects of pre-harvest applied aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) and napthaleneacetic acid (NAA) treatments on the pre-harvest drop and fruit quality of ‘Braeburn’ apple were investigated. Experimental trees were treated with three different concentrations (150, 225 and 300 mg L) of AVG and 20 mg L NAA 4 weeks before anticipated harvest date. Results which were obtained revealed that NAA and AVG treatments significantly decreased pre-harvest drops compared to control treatment. AVG treatments significantly delayed peel color development. The fruit weight was significantly reduced by 225 and 300 mg L AVG concentration at 1, 8 and 15 October harvest date. AVG treatments were more effective in retaining of flesh firmness. But NAA treatment significantly reduced both flesh firmness and fruit removal force at anticipated harvest. AVG treatments significantly delayed starch degradation, and reduced soluble solids content. 225 and 300 mg L AVG-treated fruits exhibited higher titratable acidity than control and NAA on 1, 8 and 15 October.

This study was conducted to determine yield and quality components of some bread wheat cultivars in Tokat-Kazova conditions during 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 growing seasons. In the experiment, twenty five bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars were used. The experimental design was a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. In this study, heading period, maturity period, plant height, the number of spike per square meter, spike length, spike yield, 1000-kernel weight, test weight, harvest index, zeleny sedimentation, protein content were evaluated. There were significant differences among cultivars for all evaluated characters. The highest grain yield was obtained from Nacibey variety. However, Yakar-99 variety was produced the lowest grain yield. On the other hand, The highest protein contents were obtained from Flamura, Aldane and Yakar-99 cultivars. Bağcı-2002, Harmankaya, Syrena Odeska were prominent varieties in terms of zeleny sedimentation. Konya-2002 and Aldane cultivars which have the high grain yield, yield components and high quality. If these cultivars are used in Tokat-Kazova conditions, bread wheat production quantity and quality will be increased.
