Integrating probabilistic logic and multimodal spatial concepts for efficient robotic object search in home environments 整合概率逻辑和多模态空间概念,实现家庭环境中高效的机器人物体搜索

Our study introduces a novel approach that combined probabilistic logic and multimodal spatial concepts to enable a robot to efficiently acquire place–object relationships in a new home environment with few learning iterations. By leveraging probabilistic logic, which employs predicate logic with probability values, we represent common-sense knowledge of the place–object relationships. The integration of logical inference and cross-modal inference to calculate conditional probabilities across different modalities enables the robot to infer object locations even when their likely locations are undefined. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method, we conducted simulation experiments and compared the results with three baselines: multimodal spatial concepts only, common-sense knowledge only, and common-sense knowledge and multimodal spatial concepts combined. By comparing the number of room visits required by the robot to locate 24 objects, we demonstrated the improved performance of our approach. For search tasks including objects whose locations were undefined, the findings demonstrate that our method reduced the learning cost by a factor of 1.6 compared to the baseline methods. Additionally, we conducted a qualitative analysis in a real-world environment to examine the impact of integrating the two inferences and identified the scenarios that influence changes in the task success rate.

In this study, a design method of driving controller based on nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) is presented for internal-combustion-engine (ICE) vehicles equipped with continuously variable transmissions (CVTs). The clutch-engaged and -released modes and engine-on and -off modes are considered, along with the engine-braking effect. The switching characteristics of the vehicle system dynamics are relaxed into continuous transitions. This allows for the use of standard NMPC software packages to solve the NMPC problem. Numerical examples indicate that the designed controller is capable of achieving real-time driving control based on NMPC.

The DXHS algorithm was proposed as an active noise control method and is often referred to as an adaptive method. This paper shows that the DXHS algorithm is a dynamical system that is equivalent to a passive internal model for sinusoidal signals. It follows that the disturbance attenuation ability is a consequence of the internal model principle, although the DXHS algorithm is proposed based on the standard way of thinking for adaptive methods. Moreover, the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed for strictly passive secondary paths.

This paper discusses the model identification of a biplane which has superior lift generation capability and the influences of identification errors on trajectory generation using updating final-state control (UFSC). Aerodynamic parameters are identified using a combination of wind tunnel tests and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. The influences of parameter errors on approach trajectory generation are also investigated using Monte Carlo simulations. The simulations clearly demonstrate the relationship between the parameter errors and the trajectory accuracies. In addition, the acceptable range of parameter errors is investigated.

Analysing an influence of initial bus route networks in competitive optimization of multiple bus companies 分析初始公交线路网络对多家公交公司竞争优化的影响

This paper focuses on the bus route network optimization where two bus companies compete with each other to increase a convenience of passengers and profits of bus companies, and analyses how the optimized bus route networks are affected by their initial route networks. The intensive simulation of the competition of bus companies in the Mandl benchmark problem has revealed that (1) the similar initial route networks derive the highly competitive situation where the lines of either company dominate but the topology and characteristic (i.e. the number of edges) of the network of another company remain in the optimized network; (2) the different initial route networks derive the moderately competitive situation where the number of lines of the two companies become equal and the characteristic (i.e. the number of ring routes and edges) of the networks of two companies is averaged; and (3) the intermediately similar initial route networks do not only show the similar tendency of the similar initial route network but also derive a new feature of merging the topology and characteristic of the networks of two companies.
