This paper aims to introduce some key parameters for the tracking application in wireless sensor networks. In this work the Single-hop protocol with J-Sim simulation tool has been implemented, and consequently some useful trade-off analysis results among the density, coverage, reliability and lifetime have been obtained. Based on these results, two intelligent evaluation models are proposed in this paper.

In this paper, we propose the use of the smart environment based on Internet of Things (IoT), P2P technology and Heuristic Diagnostic Teaching (HDT) principles for identifying learning abilities in mathematics and creative traits for students that are diagnosed within Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD). Our new system is combined with various visual systems, such as objects, photographs, pictures, realistic drawings, line drawings, and written words, and can be used with assorted modes of technology, as long as the child can readily comprehend the visual representation. We propose to use different assessment tools to learn about students' ability in math. Vocabulary skills, mathematics skills and other life skills can be taught through our proposed system.

This paper presents an application of Augmented Reality (AR) within a smart city service to be deployed in the domain of public transport in the city of Novi Sad in Serbia. The described solution is focused on providing a simple and efficient method to citizens for accessing important information such as bus arrival times, bus routes and tourist landmarks using smart phones and AR technology. The AR information is triggered by image and geo-location markers and the data is provided via secure IoT infrastructure. The IoT infrastructure is based on bus-mounted IoT devices which utilize secure CoAP software protocol to transmit the data to the associated cloud servers. Description of the complete end-to-end solution is presented, providing the overall system set-up, user experience aspects and the security of the overall system, focusing on the lightweight encryption used within the low-powered IoT devices.

Femtocells can be easily deployed in macrocell LTE network without requiring a centralized planning to provide high data rate connectivity with a limited coverage. Femtocell is low-power, very small and cost effective cellular based station used in indoor environment. Femtocell and Macrocell share same frequency band which cause destructive interference. In order to maintain reliable service of macro-cells, it is most important to mitigate destructive femto to macro interference. Frequency Reuse (FR) is an effort of manipulating the frequency resource allocation upon terminal's location to improve system throughput. In this paper, an efficient method to improve system capacity through interference management in the existing Femto-Macro two tier networks has been proposed. In the proposed scheme, femtocell user will be allocated frequency instantly as it is required. This will also improve system throughput which will effectively control interference between macrocells and femtocells.

An increasing number of people are using online social networking services (SNSs), and a significant amount of information related to experiences in consumption is shared in this new media form. Text mining is an emerging technique for mining useful information from the web. We aim at discovering in particular tweets semantic patterns in consumers' discussions on social media. Specifically, the purposes of this study are twofold: 1) finding similarity and dissimilarity between two sets of textual documents that include consumers' sentiment polarities, two forms of positive vs. negative opinions and 2) driving actual content from the textual data that has a semantic trend. The considered tweets include consumers' opinions on US retail companies (e.g., Amazon, Walmart). Cosine similarity and K-means clustering methods are used to achieve the former goal, and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a popular topic modeling algorithm, is used for the latter purpose. This is the first study which discover semantic properties of textual data in consumption context beyond sentiment analysis. In addition to major findings, we apply LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocations) to the same data and drew latent topics that represent consumers' positive opinions and negative opinions on social media.

In this paper, we propose a database selection method for cherry blossom movie databases constructed on the assumption that large amounts of movie data on different observation locations are constantly stored into the corresponding areas of the movie database. Our proposed method extracts a suitable candidate set of movie databases according to the user's image query based on the color information that summarizes the characteristics of each movie database in the distributed movie database environment. Our method focuses on the color frequency trend of cherry blossoms in a movie database to extract the movie databases that include flowering states in the image frames similar to the user's input cherry blossom image and to extract the period by analyzing the increasing and decreasing trend of the specified flower color within the specified period. In the experiment, we evaluate the feasibility of our proposed method in the distributed movie database environment, where each movie database consists of pseudo-movie data on cherry blossoms.

Frequent packet loss of media data is critical problem that degrades the quality of streaming service in wireless networks. During scalable streaming service, only partial of data can be decoded at the decoder depending on the relationship between frames and layers. Contents provider divides one large media stream into several layers, and then provides each layer to user. The hierarchical structure between frames and layers highly exerts influence the availability of media data. Even if whole data of layer is transmitted successfully, they can not be decoded resulted from absence of reference frames and layers. The complicated relationship between frames and layers in scalable stream increases the volume of the abandoned layers. In this paper, we prove that simple scalable scheme outperforms complicated scheme in error prone network. We suggest the adaptive set top box (Adaptive STB) to drop dependency between layers in scalable stream. Also, we measure how much media data can be played through analysis in relationship between layers. Adaptive STB enhances the quality of scalable streaming service through removing indirect loss.

Approaches of using Wireless Body Area Sensor Network (WBASN) in health care applications are getting much popularity. WBASN is a hot topic among the research community. Our proposed Horizontal moveable Energy-efficient Adaptive Threshold-based (HEAT) protocol is well suited for horizontally moving (walking) human body. The on body nodes attached at arms and legs of human body move forward and backward to sink during horizontal movement. We use direct communication for emergency data and multi-hop communication strategy for normal data transmission. Simulation results show that our proposed protocol performs better in terms of stability period and network lifetime. The stability period of HEAT is comparative with direct communication, while it outperforms direct communication in term of network lifetime.

In recent years, there has been a rapidly increasing use of social networking platforms in the forms of short-text communication. However, due to the short-length of the texts used, the precise meaning and context of these texts are often ambiguous. To address this problem, we have devised a new community mining approach that is an adaptation and extension of text clustering, using Wikipedia as background knowledge. Based on this method, we are able to achieve a high level of precision in identifying the context of communication. Using the same methods, we are also able to efficiently identify hidden concepts in Twitter texts. Using Wikipedia as background knowledge considerably improved the performance of short text clustering.

There are many manufacturing systems in the factory. Furthermore the system engineer or user have to control and manage lots of data for the manufacturing system. There is, therefore, a need for an efficient management method or technique to handle the systems in their factory. The system managers who work in the main office or at a e location far from the factory also need to check the production rate and data of the manufacturing system in the factory. All of them need to manage the system data. Recently, cloud computing was introduced and thus allows a significant alternative to today's manufacturing system perspective. Therefore, this research aims to present a model to manage and share the data for the manufacturing system via the internet. For this purpose, the cloud storage for the manufacturing system in global factory automation was used. The proposed cloud storage model consists of four types of databases and one management server. The model interfaces the data exchange process between the manufacturing systems and each database. Through this model, the system manager, engineer, and user are all able to check and share the manufacturing system's data efficiently via the internet.
