This qualitative study aims to investigate how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected South Asians in Hong Kong. A total of 34 South Asian adults completed the interview. Data were analysed thematically and three broad themes emerged: the impact of the pandemic on daily life, discrimination experienced, coping with challenges. The impacts of COVID-19 have spanned across from individual, family, community, to societal domains. Future research using a longitudinal approach and the inclusion of those with quarantine or infection experiences would yield a more comprehensive understanding of the experiences of South Asian communities in Hong Kong. borders. In the third section of the volume, internal migration in India covering three important states has been discussed taking the socio-economic perspective of the migrants. The livelihood strategies of the rural migrants in Kolkata and the challenges, insecurities, living status of the migrant, and their coping strategies are discussed by Saswati Chaudhuri (Chap. 10). The issues of women migrants have been taken up by Jaleel and Chattopadhyay (Chap, 11), Das and Prasad (Chap. 12) respectively. These chapters present the case of migrant woman’s health, their access to health services, their autonomy, and psychology in the process of transition. Mandal and Prasad (Chap. 13) present an assessment of trade reforms, capital inflows, and bureaucratic reforms on skilled labour emigration resulting in wage inequality using a general equilibrium model. Thus, all 13 chapters woven together with a common thread of migration in one single volume, give a complete panoramic view of complexities, challenges and dynamics of people’s movement in different countries of South Asia. This comprehensive volume is definitely a reader’s delight for all those interested in migration studies.
