In this article we delve into de consilium entitled Mulier striga, attributed to Bartolo de Sassoferrato and dated between 1331-1334. We contribute to spread the fact it is a forgery and that its author was Giovanni Battista Piotti, a sixteenth-century lawyer, a fact hardly known by many specialists who continue to present the texto as medieval. On the other hand, we will analyze in detail the portrait ot the witch present in this work, never examined by the experts before, in order to determine whether the picture offered is anachronistic, as it happens with other aspects of the document, or matches the beliefs of the first half of the fourteenth century. En este artículo profundizamos en el consilum Mulier striga, atribuido a Bartolo de Sassoferrato y fechado entre 1331-1334. Contribuimos a difundir el hecho de que se trata de una falsificación y que su autor fue Giovanni Battista Piotti, jurista del siglo XVI; cuestión apenas conocida por muchos especialistas que siguen presentando el texto como medieval. Por otra parte, analizaremos pormenorizadamente el retrato de la bruja presente en este escrito, no abordado por los expertos, con el fin de determinar si la imagen ofrecida es anacrónica, como sucede con otros aspectos del documento, o se ajusta a la primera mitad del siglo XIV.

Social study about the crimes in the city of Valencia during the Alphonso the Magnanimous reign trough the account books of the Criminal Justice official and him rear revision by the Rational Master. It is quantified the number of done crimes, who are their protagonists, which are the crime typologies and the economic quantity that provide to the city and to the royal treasure, regardless of the structure of other active tribunals (town hall, government, local police). We present an urban criminality approximation through the Criminal Justice action in a concrete period by the documentary sources regularity. Estudio social y fiscal sobre los delitos cometidos en la ciudad de Valencia durante el reinado de Alfonso el Magnánimo a través los libros de cuentas del Justicia Criminal y su posterior revisión por parte del Maestre Racional. Se cuantifica el número de delitos que se cometen, quiénes son sus protagonistas, cuáles son las tipologías delictivas y las cantidades económicas que proporcionaban al municipio y a las arcas reales, independientemente de la estructura de otros tribunales en activo (bailía, gobernación, almotacén). Se presenta una aproximación a la criminalidad urbana a través de la acción del Justicia Criminal de Valencia en un periodo determinado por la regularidad de las fuentes documentales.

Despite the fact that historical studies on the navy and navigation in the Middle Ages in general and in Castile in particular have taken a great leap, not only quantitatively but also qualitatively, studies related to the living conditions and mentalities of personnel shipped do not seem to have had the same interest. Here we present some aspects, brushstrokes drawn from legal and chronological sources. Legal sources offer us a way to approach living conditions on merchant ships. The chronicles offer information on the dangers derived from direct combat action at sea, the influence of meteorological conditions, as well as related to the recruitment and supplies of the embarked personnel. Pese a que los estudios históricos sobre la marina y la navegación en la Edad Media en general y en Castilla en particular han dado un gran salto, no sólo cuantitativo, sino también cualitativo, los estudios relacionados con las condiciones de vida y las mentalidades del personal embarcado no parecen haber tenido el mismo interés. Aquí presentamos algunos aspectos, pinceladas extraídas de fuentes legales y cronísticas. Las fuentes legales nos ofrecen una vía de aproximación a las condiciones de vida en embarcaciones mercantes. Las crónicas ofrecen información sobre los peligros derivados de la acción directa de combate en la mar, la influencia de las condiciones meteorológicas, así como relacionada con el reclutamiento y suministros del personal embarcado.

This article aims to analyse the formation and evolution of Ruy López Dávalos' estate, from his arrival at the Castilian court during the reign of Juan I, being especially favoured by Enrique III with important posts, an extensive lordship and other economic assets that he used to expand his patrimony. His fall from grace during the minority of John II meant that his assets were confiscated and distributed among important members of the king's household. His sons tried unsuccessfully to recover this capital, even making their hypothetical distribution. A través de este trabajo pretendemos analizar la formación y evolución de la hacienda de Ruy López Dávalos, a partir de su llegada a la corte castellana durante el reinado de Juan I, viéndose especialmente favorecido por Enrique III con importantes cargos, un extenso señorío y otros bienes económicos que utilizó para ampliar su patrimonio. Su caída en desgracia durante la minoría de edad de Juan II supuso la confiscación de sus bienes que se repartieron entre importantes miembros de la casa del rey. Sus hijos intentaron sin éxito recuperar ese capital, realizando incluso su hipotético reparto.
