Using a timed Petri net (TPN) to model a bank ATM 使用定时Petri网(TPN)对银行ATM机进行建模

This paper explains how a working Petri Net model developed for a soft real time system. A bank ATM connects to an ATM controller, which in turn connects to a card authorization system. This model is developed using timed Petri nets and there is the addition of other complex mechanisms that give more realistic behavior and a finer level of detailed events. More complex constructs like: timers, reset points, transaction timeouts, redundancy mechanisms and others are included. First we discuss how the model was built using a bottom up approach. Each of the main components of the system are identified and built using Petri nets. These are tested in isolation and then the complete system is assembled. This is similar to a bottom up approach. Once that the main model is built it is implemented on a simulation tool and used to derive performance results for the system. The final model is live and exhibits repetitive, consistent behavior. Results data have been included in tabular form and depicted graphically. These data show how it is possible to derive results for software and hardware performance using Petri Nets. This is quite exclusive because most software development methods like the UML and even formal techniques do not give us performance analysis and neither proper features for redundancy. To conclude it is possible to say that if good Petri Net simulation tools are available it is possible to use Petri Nets to describe soft real time systems in fine detail and analyze them. At present this cannot be easily achieved by many other techniques when the system involved has stringent synchronization requirements and timing constraints. A goal-oriented approach for safety requirements specification 安全需求规范的目标导向方法

Robotic systems are developed to execute tasks with several types of risks associated. The possible damages that can affect both the working environment and the self-system lead us to consider that these systems are safety critical, i.e., systems where the strict management of safety aspects is vital. In this work, we introduce our proposal for the consideration of safety related requirements and their consequent trace to the desired final system architecture. For this reason, this paper gives a procedure for the identification and specification of safety requirements based on a goal oriented framework. Moreover, in this work other approaches have been considered and integrated to deal with well known safety standard recommendations. By means of an industrial case study, we show how this proposal can be used to consider safety requirements in tele-operated robotic systems and, by extrapolation, in other critical domains

A measurement-based analysis of the responsiveness of the Linux kernel Linux内核响应性的基于度量的分析

Linux is not a real-time operating system, however it has been often recently used to implement soft real-time systems such as home multimedia centers. A quantitative study of the Linux kernel responsiveness to hardware interrupts has shown a huge variance in experimental results, however, we argue that a careful selection of the modules inserted in the kernel can greatly reduce this variance and produce a much more predictable system. In this paper, we focus on one of the major sources of unresponsiveness in the kernel, namely the presence of non-preemptible code sections, and we quantify its effects with a series of micro-benchmarks. Our extensive set of experiments allowed us to identify which Linux kernel's modules can cause erratic behavior with respect to the responsiveness of the Linux kernel to hardware interrupts

Model checking procedures for infinite state systems 无限状态系统的模型检验程序

The paper depicts experiments and results with predicate abstraction based verification applied to infinite state systems. Predicate abstraction is a method for automatic construction of abstract state space that can be used by any common finite state model checking tool, such as NuSMV. We have used abstract state space and NuSMV tool to verify safety properties of infinite state mutual exclusion protocols. Even though predicate abstraction allows model checking against a restricted class of temporal logic formulas, we have shown that the restricted class is expressive enough to specify basic safety properties. Our experiments were conducted on Bakery and Fischer mutual exclusion protocols

We present in this paper a unified paradigm for the verification and validation of software and systems engineering design models expressed in UML 2.0 or SysML. This paradigm relies on an established synergy between three salient approaches, which are model-checking, program analysis, and software engineering techniques. To illustrate the accomplishment of our results, we have designed and implemented an integrated and automated computer-aided assessment tool. We provide three case studies for sequence, state machine, and class and package diagrams to demonstrate the benefits of our methodology

A modelling proposal for aspect-oriented software architectures 面向方面的软件架构的建模建议

Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) has emerged in recent years as a new paradigm for software development. PRISMA is an approach for developing complex and large software systems. It combines the aspect-oriented software development (AOSD) and the component-based software development (CBSD) in an elegant and novel way achieving a better management of crosscutting-concerns and software reusability. PRISMA approach proposes the separation of concerns from the very beginning of the software life-cycle in order to introduce them as reusable aspects of software architecture. PRISMA provides a framework to guide the development of complex and large software systems. The framework is composed by a modelling tool, a .NET middleware, and a compiler to automatically generate the application source code. In this paper, we present the modeling tool of the PRISMA framework and how it supports the reuse and maintenance improvements of the PRISMA model and its aspect- oriented description language (AOSD). We illustrate our proposal and modelling tool using a real-life case, the TeachMover robot

It combines the aspect-oriented software development (AOSD) and the component-based software development (CBSD) in an elegant and novel way achieving a better management of crosscutting-concerns and software reusability. PRISMA approach proposes the separation of concerns from the very beginning of the software life-cycle in order to introduce them as reusable aspects of software architecture. PRISMA provides a framework to guide the development of complex and large software systems. The framework is composed by a modelling tool, a .NET middleware, and a compiler to automatically generate the application source code. In this paper, we present the modeling tool of the PRISMA framework and how it supports the reuse and maintenance improvements of the PRISMA model and its aspect- oriented description language (AOSD). Design and evaluation of in-vehicle sensor network for Web based control 基于Web控制的车载传感器网络设计与评价

In the ubiquitous computing environment, it is expected that an intellectual vehicle with a capability of intelligence and communication has access to network and get useful information providing service. This requires a new network architecture and in-vehicle sensor network technology to support mobility of vehicle service. The mobility of vehicle service is to give users the vehicle services at any time and any where. In this paper, CDMA-based network architecture is designed for intelligent vehicle services of remote vehicle diagnosis and management. The intelligent vehicle is equipped with a vehicle gateway and in-vehicle sensor network. The performance of the proposed network structure in terms of the round trip time taken to get a vehicle service is evaluated. The experimental results show that the round trip time is appeared to be different when a vehicle is driven or not and where it is driven. It is 776ms when a vehicle is stopped, 707ms when a vehicle is driven in the rural area, and 910ms in the urban area
