A configuration management assessment method for SON verification 一种用于SON验证的配置管理评估方法

Over the last years the complexity of mobile communication networks has significantly increased. Therefore, Self-Organizing Network (SON) features have been introduced to automate the process of fault-remedying, configuring Network Elements (NEs), and optimizing their operation. Such features are typically implemented by SON functions which actively perform changes to Configuration Management (CM) parameters in order to achieve certain objectives. However, having such features also requires a mechanism that allows us to verify their actions. In case certain NEs experience an undesired behavior, we have to be able to determine whether it is caused by CM changes and, if so, identify the responsible ones for that to happen. In this paper we propose a novel CM change performance assessment method with dynamic scope management for automated CM undo decision making. Our method includes two key properties: the ability to determine the minimal set of cells that are possibly influenced by a certain CM change, and generate a recommendation to accept or reject it based on the observed network performance. Results from our real data evaluation show our method is able to detect anomalous network behavior and identify the responsible changes.

Frequency domain pilot-based carrier frequency offset estimation in SC-FDMA system 基于频域导频的SC-FDMA系统载波频偏估计

Carrier frequency offset estimation in Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) system is a challenging task. In this paper, a novel estimation method based on the pilot signal in frequency domain is proposed. This algorithm does not require the knowledge of the channel, and only one pilot symbol is needed for frequency offset estimation. These promising features will facilitate its deployment in the current systems without changing the air-interface. A performance evaluation is conducted over Demodulation Reference Signal in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access uplink SC-FDMA system. In frequency selective channels, it has the least estimation error among three benchmark methods in large CFO scenarios.

Active safety systems for collision avoidance of road vehicles are a promising solution to the enormous human and monetary cost of road crashes. In this paper, we describe some new mathematical approaches for the construction of collision avoidance algorithms for human-driven vehicles. These algorithms exploit the sensing and communication capabilities of the vehicles to share information on the current state of the system, and based on this information check the safety of the human decisions and correct them when they would lead to a collision.

Blind detection of SCMA for uplink grant-free multiple-access 上行链路免授权多址的SCMA盲检测

Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is a new frequency domain non-orthogonal multiple-access technique which can enable massive connectivity and grant-free transmission in wireless radio access. With SCMA, different incoming data streams are directly mapped to codewords of different multi-dimensional cookbooks, where each codeword represents a spread transmission layer. Multiple SCMA layers share the same time-frequency resources of OFDMA. The sparsity of codewords allows low complexity of multi-layer detection for excessive codeword overloading which is the key feature to enable massive connectivity. In this paper, a blind detection solution is introduced and analyzed to support massive connectivity in a SCMA-based UL grant-free multiple access. The proposed solution is based on two major components: i) blind detection of active pilots/users with reasonable complexity, and ii) blind decoding of active users' data with no knowledge of active codebook set. Different activity detection algorithms and schemes are proposed, described, and analyzed. Simulation results are provided to evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes in various scenarios. Our analysis and performance evaluation confirm the proposed SCMA-based blind reception solution is a promising technology to enable massive connectivity for grant-free multiple-access transmission mode in future wireless networks.

Widely linear filtering based kindred co-channel interference suppression in FBMC waveforms 基于宽线性滤波的FBMC波形类同信道干扰抑制

This paper evaluates the performance of widely linear filtering based equalization for suppression of kindred co-channel interference. The presented approach is extension of the MMSE method proposed for ICI/ISI compensation for OQAM/FBMC transmission system in [1][2]. The analysis and computer simulation results show the relevance of widely linear filtering based equalization approach when the interfering signal exhibit improper statistics. This indicates the need to consider alternative forms of I/Q staggered multicarrier waveforms for 5G standardization that differs from the conventional one with 100% roll-off subchannels.

Voice traffic bicasting enhancements in mobile HSPA network 移动HSPA网络中语音流量广播的增强

This paper discusses methods for improving the effectiveness of delivering voice traffic over High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network by employing transmission diversity with Single-Frequency Dual-Cell (SF-DC) Aggregation that is part of the Multiflow specification. SF-DC Aggregation allows the user to be served at the same time by two different cells. The enhancements discussed in the paper capitalize strongly on the availability of the composed Channel Quality Indication (CQI) feedback at both serving cells. According to the results obtained from the network simulations, the ability to select the better channel for each voice transmission significantly decreases the required transmission power of the cell, thus also improving the residual cell capacity available for best effort (BE) traffic. The required updates are completely software-based and are applied only in the access network, making them transparent to user terminal.

In cognitive positioning systems, spectrum sensing methods play an important role to understand the surrounding spectrum. Due to their good performance under noisy environments, cyclostationary methods are commonly used to characterise the received signals. These methods require a higher computational cost and high sampling rates [1]. With that in mind, this paper uses real measurement data, acquired in an office environment, at different sampling rates, including rates below the Nyquist rate. The motivation is to show that the implementation burden of these methods can be reduced by using lower sampling frequencies, since the cyclic properties of the signals are still visible.

Communication analysis for centralized intersection crossing coordination 集中路口交叉协调的通信分析

Coordination of autonomous cooperative vehicles is an important challenge for future intelligent transportation systems. In particular, coordination to cross intersections captures the inherent and connected challenges among control and communication. While intersection coordination and vehicular wireless communication have both received extensive treatment in their respective communities, few works consider their interaction. We provide a communication system analysis for the specific problem of centralized intersection crossing coordination, leading to design guidelines for both uplink (whereby vehicles send intentions to the central controller) and downlink (where the controller prescribes vehicles of safe control actions).

Resource allocation in block diagonalization-based multiuser MIMO-OFDMA networks 基于块对角的多用户MIMO-OFDMA网络中的资源分配

Multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) in general, and block diagonalization (BD) in particular, has become a crucial mechanism towards the achievement of a higher spectral efficiency in OFDMA-based wireless networks. The utilization of such techniques necessarily have implications in the resource allocation processes in charge of assigning subcarriers, powers and transmission modes among the different users. In this paper, a framework for channel- and queue-aware QoS-guaranteed cross-layer scheduling and resource allocation for BD-based MU-MIMO-OFDMA wireless networks is presented. Also, a novel greedy user/stream selection algorithm, a critical step in any MU-MIMO scheme, is proposed, shown to perform very close to the optimal user/stream selection policy at a much lower complexity.

Reduction of PAPR for FBMC-OQAM systems using dispersive SLM technique 利用色散SLM技术降低FBMC-OQAM系统的PAPR

The Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) based systems are being seriously considered for 5G Radio Access Technology (RAT). As FBMC-OQAM is a multi-carrier technique, it suffers from the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and directly applying the PAPR reduction schemes proposed for OFDM to FBMC-OQAM turns out to be ineffective, due to its overlapping structure. In this paper, a scheme named as Dispersive Selective Mapping (DSLM) is proposed, which is an extended and generalized version of Overlapped Selective Mapping (OSLM). Simulation results show that performance of this method is very closely trailing to that of OFDM.
