Background: Cannabis use is rising and becoming a trending drug among youth. The drug is used in different forms, leading to intoxication, acute and long-term consequences. About 2.8% of Indians aged 10-75 years are current users of any cannabis product. Withdrawal from the drug use requires medical intervention and counselling. Objectives: To identify existing evidence in homoeopathy on drug deaddiction and cannabis use disorder and to update the physicians on diagnosis, risk behaviours, treatment and investigations associated with cannabis use disorder. Methods: A review of existing literature was conducted through internet sources and the CCRH headquarters library using keywords i.e. substance use, substance abuse, marijuana, cannabis abuse, drug abuse, cannabis use disorder etc. Data from studies reporting drug abuse to identify the type of drug use and homoeopathic treatment response in the withdrawal and long-term management and treatment of drug dependents was tabulated. Results: Although some studies have been conducted on drug withdrawal, no studies have been conducted on cannabis use disorder. More case studies and research on treatment of cannabis use disorder using Homoeopathy are needed. Interpretation: Physicians need to update themselves on diagnosis, risk behaviours, treatment and investigations to counter the condition and contribute to generating evidence-based literature on the homoeopathic approach for treating cannabis use disorder.

The article on osteomyelitis encapsulates the advance study in catastrophic manner. The disease covering both stages of infection either its periprosthetic – joint infection and osteonecrosis condition of the bone. The innovative understanding with appropriate procedure is given in detail for progressive or uncontrolled condition of the patient. An inflammatory or serious condition of the bone and its structure in later stages caused by pyogenic infection. Myobacteria is rarely causing primary epiphyseal osteomyelitis. Medullary superficial or localized osteomyelitis developed on the various affecting site of bone. Subsequent bone damage is the end result of this ailment. The sequelae of osteomyelitis vary, depending on age at onset, site of infection, presence or absence of foreign bodies, and presence or absence of adjoining joint infection. An impaired vascularity occurs in the infected area that results in dead space/bone and repeated occurrence of bone infection may travel into the irreversible form causing the person restless, although suffering from great despodency. Altered immune defense mechanism may result in exaggerating the disease due to various abnormal conditions as in diabetic wound or from insufficient blood supply. A proper intervention simultaneously with diagnosis by corresponding symptomatology and investigation is essential to understand the pathological process along with the case progression. Homoeopathy can aid the process of recovery in cases of osteomyelitis when the best selected similimum along with miasmatic inference taken into consideration.

Dermatitis is most common skin problem all over the world. In the word “dermatitis,” “derm” means “skin” and “itis” means “inflammation.” Dermatitis literally means inflammation of the skin. It is a specific type of allergic cutaneous manifestation of antigen antibody reaction. Dermatitis causes no serious harm to your body. It is not a contagious disease. Homeopathy is very useful in cases of dermatitis so we should know its clinical presentation and representation of the disease in different clinical repertories.

A Peritonsillar abscess is also known as Quinsy. It is an accumulation of pus behind the palatine tonsil due to an infection. Precisely, it is a collection of pus between the fibrous capsule of the tonsil, usually at the upper pole & the superior constrictor muscles of pharynx. The signs & symptoms of quinsy include fever, throat pain, trouble in opening mouth, redness, swelling and change in the voice. Pain is usually worse on one side. The complications may include blockage of the airway or aspiration pneumonitis. The conventional treatment is done for removing the pus by incision & drainage along with medications for swelling & pain management. The homeopathic line of treatment depends on the actual state of the condition. Homeopathic medicines can be used in mild to moderate cases of peritonsillar abscess successfully as see through this research study. In this study, 46 cases of peritonsillar abscess of age group between 5 to 80 years were included. After going through the results, it is observed that the peritonsillar abscess can be treated successfully by Homoeopathy. The scope of Homoeopathy in the treatment of peritonsillar abscess is excellent and shows high success rate of 44 out of 46 patients responding successfully to the Homoeopathic treatment with no signs of recurrence in near future. The outstanding Homoeopathic remedies in the treatment of peritonsillar abscess were found to be mostly Hepar Sulph & Merc Sol along with Calc Carb, Baryta Carb and Phytolacca. All that is required in the treatment of peritonsillar abscess is quick selection of right remedy and right dose for the instant relief rationally. Hence we can rightly claim that by proper Homoeopathic treatment we can make the world better for the future generation. This research paper will certainly help the health professionals to overcome such problems of surgical cases and consider the benefits of the facts in scope of Homoeopathy in peritonsillar abscess.

Introduction: Gastro intestinal diseases are the most common disorders seen worldwide. Microbiota is a term used for eukaryotic and prokaryotic microorganisms. In case of infected persons, it can produce symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, flatulency, pain abdomen, inflammation of intestine, etc. The most common presentations of Gastro intestinal disorders are heart burn, nausea and vomiting, dysphagia, indigestion, chronic recurrent pain abdomen, flatulency, belching, loss of weight, etc. Homoeopathy is a system where symptom similiarity and individualization is considered in remedy selection. The vulnerability and frequency of disease will decrease when medicine prescribed is based on individualization. This is a retrospective study analyzing the previous case history to assess the efficacy of homoeopathy in gastrointestinal disorders. Materials and Methods: Case records of 261 patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal disorders with symptoms like pain abdomen, nausea, vomiting, heart burn, flatulence, diarrhea, bleeding per rectum, dysuria, hesitancy in urine etc. who had visited OPD of NHRIMH Kottayam Kerala from January 2022 to May 2022 (5 months) had been retrospectively analyzed to find out the most common gastrointestinal disorders and frequently indicated useful remedies in managing the patient. Results and Discussion It has been found that in our study maximum affection is in the age group of 51-60 and least in the age group of 91-100. Females were most affected than males. 45 new patients and 216 old patients had visited. The most common gastro intestinal disorders for which patients visited were Cholelithiasis, Gastritis and GERD.Most frequently indicated medicines were Nux vomica (20.69%), Sulphur (16.48%), Bryonia (9.96%), Argentum nitricum (9.58%) and Lycopodium (9.20%).The study showed drastic improvement in all the patients which proves that homoeopathy is highly effectivein gastrointestinal disorders. Conclusion From the above retrospective study, it is clear that when the homoeopathic principles were followed properly in treating a patient we can arrive at a permanent cure in all patients without any side effects.

A case of hypothyroidism treated by constitutional homoeopathic medicine is presented here with serial thyroid function test reports. It is worthwhile mentioning here that initially she had high T3, T4 and low TSH for which she was given Neomercazole. Later her TSH became raised and was given Thyrocab, Eltroxin etc. She was perturbed due to fluctuation of her condition between hyper and hypothyroidism and stopped all allopathic medicines. Referred by some of her relatives she consulted us for treatment of her ailment.

Background & objectives Haemorrhoids are certainly one of the commonest ailments that afflict mankind. Bleeding and prolapse are the cardinal symptoms of haemorrhoids. Pain, mucus discharge and Itching, are the other most common complaints from the patients. This leads to reduced work efficiency, quality of life and increased financial burden on the patients. Homoeopathy is reported to have a significant role in haemorrhoids in both classical literature and recent studies. However, its efficacy in the South Indian population has not yet been reported. Thus, an effort has been made to find out the effectiveness of Homoeopathic treatment in haemorrhoids. Methods In this prospective, observational study, conducted at Fr. Muller's Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore during the year 2002-2003, on patients of age groups between 20-75 years, based on their clinical presentation such as bleeding, pain, discharge, itching and examination. They were treated with homoeopathic medicines, using disease intensity scores as a parameter. This study protocol was approved by the Institutional ethical committee of Fr. Muller's Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore and consent was obtained from the participants. All the patients were followed for a minimum period of 3 months. Results and Discussion A total of 30 patients were enrolled and analyzed for the study. After treatment significant change is found in bleeding, pain, pruritus ani, and mucus discharge per rectum of the patients. However, no change is found in Prolapse. Symptoms were graded ranging from 0-3 depending upon the severity of the complaint. The sum of these grades were considered before and after treatment for the patients. Most frequently used medicines were Sulphur (n = 6), Lycopodium (n = 5), Natrum mur (n = 4), Pulsatilla (n = 3) and Nux vomica (n = 3). The Statistical analysis ‘t-test’ showed, that the calculated value of 13.7 is greater than the tabled value of ‘t’ at the 5% level with 29 df (2.045). This shows the positive effect of homoeopathic medicines in the treatment of haemorrhoids. Conclusion It is concluded that homoeopathic treatment is effective in haemorrhoids, which is reflected in significant reduction in symptoms of haemorrhoids, as observed with the disease intensity score.
