Hybrid communication solution for C-ITS and its evaluation C-ITS混合通信解决方案及其评价

Smart mobility based on cooperative systems (C-ITS) represents one of the Smart Cities topics. Guaranteed quality of data exchange both between VANET (Vehicular Ad hoc Network) members (V2V) as well as between VANET and Infrastructure (V2I) represents critical condition for suitable functions of the cooperative systems. We proposed hybrid routing protocol for VANET networking based on application of two most widely accepted mobile technologies and theirs combination. Finally, we compared in VANET communication simulation proposed protocol performance with performance of mostly discussed routing protocols designed for VANET conditions.

Assessment method to measure smartness of cities 衡量城市智慧度的评估方法

The paper is introducing an adoption of Industry 4.0 Concept on Smart City theoretic model. Cities are upgraded with latest computing and ICT technologies throughout all systems and infrastructure. New data are collected in big amounts and ability to use them is changing how city subsystems can communicate together, to make cities work better and serve better to their users. Smart Cities are convoluted Cyber Physical Model Systems with gradually growing network of all of its parts including human social networks. Cities are under continuous development, in relation to attractiveness of city structure, based on all activities and transactions conducted in city area and related surrounding, newly also through connected virtual world. Industry 4.0 Concept is one of segments of city's recent or near future upgrade. Integration of advanced computing technology and Information Computing Technology (ICT) throughout whole production enterprise enable to share data, information, and instructions between all agents during all phases of product lifecycle, a product partially participating as a vehicle of product development instructions. Industry 4.0 concept includes six principles, which are compared to Smart City near to 4.0 model. Triangle Rule Diagram is introduced to investigate relationships between all main domains in city live — Client, Enterprise and Facilitator at concept of Smart City near to 4.0, where integration of computing technologies is embedded in all of these domains and inside all city systems and processes connecting them together. Services become a predominantly main city's product as outcome of City Enterprise. Ability to carry portion of instruction about Product development is part of new Smart city near 4.0 concept, as well as during post-product development phases.

Job accessibility modelling in Prague Functional Urban Area 布拉格功能区工作可达性模型

Job accessibility is an important factor of urban transition as it influences the residential location choices made by inhabitants and the location of new residential development projects by developers. Spatial interaction models allow for the assessment of the urban transition potential of localities based on the accessibility of various urban activities. In this way they provide valuable information for Smart city governance. This paper presents the Job Accessibility Model (JAM) which is based on principles of spatial interaction. JAM estimates the potential accessibility of individual locations to job activities in the Prague Functional Urban Area (Prague FUA). The job accessibilities are based on job activity distribution and transportation network data. Up until now, spatial interaction modelling in the Czech Republic has been limited by the quality of data on the spatial distribution of jobs. This paper presents a new approach that benefits from highly disaggregated data on buildings and their use. This approach may significantly improve the validity and reliability of urban models. The paper illustrates the evaluation of the planned road network improvement in terms of job accessibility. The paper concludes with a discussion on the potential use of improved data in urban modelling.

People counting (detection) in public transport setting provides highly valuable information for transport lines planning in respect of their density, routes, timetables and vehicle occupancy. The real-time information on current number of passengers at given point enables the city councils together with the carriers to make significant improvements in line planning and resource use efficiency. Thus it allows lowering of their costs.

Smart City and Industry 4.0 are now frequently used terms to describe today's modern technology and systems, especially in the field of telematics. The aim of this paper is to provide an approach for evaluation of some smart city and industry 4.0 solution in public transport. The main topic is focused on public transport dynamic service in areas quite far from the city centre with using modern technology.

Innovative technology for commercial buildings using photovoltaic source and battery storage 商业建筑使用光伏源和电池存储的创新技术

This article describes typical services within a building provided by a combination of a battery energy storage system with PV source. Based on the achievements in the photovoltaic and battery research and development sector in the last decade this technology becomes more available and also more affordable. Advanced control algorithms operating the system in defined optimal conditions are described. Lifetime of the system, as well as the battery, is also taken into account. Emphasis is placed on the irradiation prediction which is responsible for accurate PV yield estimation. Operational modes and operational data of an administrative building are presented together with a predictive control based on forecasting and nowcasting service.

Energy-efficient envelope design for residential buildings: A case study in Oman 住宅建筑节能围护结构设计:阿曼案例研究

This study summarizes the results from a simulation study for a typical villa in Muscat, a hot humid city in Oman. A housing model was generated in the DesignBuilder software. The model was compared against real utility readings before it was further taken for the energy calculations. Different thermal characteristics of building envelope including the heat transmission, thermal mass, solar heat gain through windows and air infiltration were evaluated. Many energy-efficient envelope design options were generated. Sensitivity analysis was then performed to narrow down the design parameters to the most significant parameters. From the sensitivity analysis, it was found that no significant energy savings are achieved beyond 15 cm of thermal insulation for both walls and roof. The solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) was found more significant than the U-values of the glazing. It was also found that the house should be air tight as the air infiltration was significant. External shading was advantageous too in hot climates. A brute force optimization approach was then carried out using unsubsidized and subsidized energy cost scenarios. A maximum energy savings of 26.7% and a minimum energy savings of 18.4% were achieved for both energy cost scenarios. For maximum energy savings, 15 cm insulation for walls and roof, a double low-e selective tinted glazing, 100 cm of overhang shading were found to be the optimal design. The optimal designs for minimum life cycle cost were, however, different for the two energy cost scenarios. For unsubsidized energy cost, 10 cm insulation for walls and roof, a single green tinted glazing, and 100 cm of overhang shading were found to be the optimal design. For subsidized energy cost, a 7.5 cm for wall and roof are the optimal while other parameters are similar to the unsubsidized case. The results from the study will help both the policy makers, designers, and owners to select their optimal designs based on different cost functions.

Priority measures have positive effects for certain aspects of public transport operation. The aim of the article is to describe the potential of time savings and quantify positive effects of public transport priority measures. Travel time, resource reachability and quality of living in urban contexts: A case study from Slovakia 城市环境下的出行时间、资源可及性和生活质量:斯洛伐克的案例研究

Urban liability and quality of living indexes do not sufficiently address the travel time dimension, although this influences daily mobility and activity choices. This does not allow, for instance, ranking cities by the time that is on average needed — with one or more transport modes — to get to relevant locations such as hospitals or railway stations. This paper provides a contribution in this direction by addressing the theme of resource reachability at the city of Žilina in Slovakia. By means of isochrone maps, it is shown that the public transport network of Žilina has a good coverage and seems optimized for affordability. Interestingly, the combined use of walking and public transport does not bring a significant advantage in terms of reachability compared to walking when a 30-minute time frame is chosen. Investment into cycling infrastructure, currently under-used and under-developed, would allow a competitive and cost-efficient alternative to the car.

Automated vehicles in smart urban environment: A review 智能城市环境下的自动驾驶汽车研究综述

Automated driving has become an important research trend in the field of cooperative intelligent transportation systems and their applications in smart cities. Automated driving both increases road capacity and eliminates human errors, one of the most common reason of traffic accidents. Both these aspects influence significantly the quality of life, which is a major goal of smart city initiatives. Management of automated vehicles by urban road infrastructure is a rather new subject and not so much practical development has been reported yet. Unfortunately, the available information is spread over fragments within other resources dealing with automated vehicles. In this paper, we provide an overview of major functionalities that have to be provided by both road infrastructure and an automated vehicle so that the vehicle can optimally navigate through an urban network with signalized intersections and we review the state-of-the-art publications providing approaches relevant to these core functionalities.
