The paper aims to investigate the presence of the representation of the sport of football in Italian poetry and the themes and motifs through which it recurs. In particular, through the literary evidence of poets such as Saba, Sereni, Giudici, Caproni, Pasolini, Spaziani, Porta, Raboni and others, a very suggestive path along which literature and football meet is highlighted: the two human activities originate from a certain amount of creativity; both allude to a human and historical dimension; both, finally, are connected to aesthetic pleasure and the dimension of play. Finally, we can see a triadic circularity between football, play and childhood, well expressed by poets such as Alfonso Gatto and Gianni Rodari. The path traced, which intercepts the feeling of the youngest on a terrain of consonances, but also of experiences and passions, can allow our youngsters to develop a renewed pleasure and enthusiasm in their relationship with the poetic text.

This reflection addresses the topic of intercultural mediation in Italian schools from a gender perspective. Though being as provably essential as beneficial for the smooth functioning of the school system, this service still awaits wider professional recognition. It is also a setting that testifies to a marked participation of women regardless of their origin and linguistic-cultural affiliation. The latter observation leads to the key question of this study: does intercultural mediation at school embody a job definable as “female”, or are we faced with yet another gender issue?

At the beginning of the twentieth century the attitude of the Socialist Party towards football wash hostile but after the publication of the famous article by Antonio Gramsci “Il football e lo scopone” (1918), the Left directed its criticism at the political exploitation the fascist Regime made of football. This led to many valuable players participating in the Resistance movement. Among them: Antonio Bacchetti, Bruno Ballacci, Dino Ballacci, Severino Feruglio, etc.

The search for the ideal teaching paradigm has, since ancient times, been one of the great challenges facing didactics in any of its areas. However, game-based learning has not enjoyed the necessary focus considering its enormous potential. This article offers a review of the literature on this technique with the aim of addressing, from a global perspective, both, its dimension and its pedagogical scope. In it, we will analyze its nature, its elements and we will detail the time needed for its correct application. Likewise, we will summarize the guidelines to optimize its use, providing, in addition, different tools for developing teaching resources that can be used in the foreign language classroom.

Starting from a reflection on the motif of abandonment in the fairy tale, this paper intends to investigate its persistence in modern and contemporary children’s literature, with particular reference to rewritings and revisitations of classical fairy tales through the special textuality of the picture book. Abandonment thus becomes a key concept, among many others, to retrace in a historiographical perspective the plots of a lost childhood that from ancient times comes down to us between persistences and distortions that update its meaning.
