India is witnessing a dual transformation marked by technological advancements and a surge in entrepreneurial activity following the launch of various e-governance schemes and the Startup India program. However, the high failure rate among startups remains a significant concern, often attributed to inadequate marketing efforts due to financial constraints. To address this issue, enhancing digital marketing initiatives under Startup India could offer cost-effective solutions with higher returns on ad spend (ROAS). This research, grounded in the Behavioral Reasoning Theory (BRT), utilized cross-sectional data analyzed through Partial Least Square-Structured Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS software. The study revealed that beliefs, values, reasons for and against adoption, and attitudes influence startups' adoption of digital marketing. The findings of this study aim to provide practical insights for Startup India programs, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to understand better the motivators and barriers to adopting digital marketing technologies.

Studies showcase various aspects of innovation strategies, knowledge sharing, and the role of family firms. Despite this, the authors note the lack of a comprehensive review of technological innovation in entrepreneurship research. This study provides an overview of the relationship between entrepreneurship and technological innovation by conducting a systematic literature review spanning four decades, from 1979 to 2020. It aims to answer three research questions related to the theories and methodologies used, the examined themes, and the implications for researchers while emphasizing the role of electronics governance. Furthermore, the study identifies several key themes in literature, including social capital and entrepreneurship, economic growth and entrepreneurial economy, policy intervention, knowledge economy, and tech venture development. These themes reflect the multifaceted nature of the relationship and offer valuable insights for future research.

This study utilizes the CGSS2021 dataset to explore institutionalized political engagement among Chinese women. Key findings include positive correlations with social circle involvement, housing area, and traditional media consumption. Interestingly, younger women are less politically engaged. Cross-tabulation reveals that daily social interactions and disagreement with prioritizing marriage over career boost institutionalized political involvement, particularly in Beijing. By contrast, women from Inner Mongolia show the least engagement. Surprisingly, frequent internet usage has limited influence on political participation, whereas traditional media use boosts it. Women in their first marriage also show higher engagement. The study offers policy recommendations to enhance Chinese women's political participation.

The study used a case study technique to investigate why the implementation of e-governance and ICT in government service provisioning has not resulted in a commensurate improvement in service delivery in Cross River State, Nigeria. It specifically investigates the effect of in-service training on civil servants' digital literacy, the consequent impact of e-governance implementation, and service delivery. The study finds that there was inadequate in-service training, which was partly caused by the cognitive disposition of civil servants who did not fully cooperate with the implementation of the e-governance reform. The study aligns with existing theories of institutional and organisational change which requires that organisational change requires realignment of beliefs and behavioral norms of organization members. The study recommends that the implementation of e-governance can only yield better results in effective service delivery if the civil servants are made to accept the reform and their digital literacy levels are significantly enhanced through appropriate in-service training.

The field of sanitation has been extensively discussed in the literature from varied viewpoints. However, a comprehensive approach summarising the entrepreneurial facets of the sanitation industry is still fragmented. This study examines 375 papers published over 25 years. It attempts to identify significant studies and concepts that researchers have developed across time. A review of the literature on sanitation and its entrepreneurial ecosystem has been undertaken in the study. It incorporates bibliometric as well as content analysis. The bibliometric approach focuses on the quantitative aspects of the study, while content analysis looks at the literature qualitatively. Data analysis has been performed using the Scopus database. Further, VOSviewer software has been used to create various network maps. The highest number of papers were published in 2021, signifying growing research interest in the domain. Environmental Monitoring and Assessment is the journal of highest influence, and the most cited paper is about “Marketing to the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) Market.”

This article presents an empirical study of influence of the domain-specific factors of trust in the electoral system and administration, trust in technology, citizens' attitudes toward voting, and COVID-19 conditions on the intention to use i-voting. The study examines and assesses the relationships and effects of the various factors that influence the intention to use i-voting. Survey data from 633 adult Slovenian citizens were collected in 2022, when voters were still burdened by the pandemic and needed to visit the polling place at least five times to participate in all scheduled voting. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data and develop the model. The study provides important findings, such as (1) trust in the voting system has a significant impact on voters' intention to use i-voting, (2) fear of COVID-19 does not persuade people to use i-voting, and (3) previous attitudes toward voting do not have a significant impact on voter intention to use i-voting.

There are several studies that assess the influence of factors on citizens' intention to adopt e-government services in various contexts. However, there is a lack of research that examines the perceived barriers to B2G e-commerce adoption and develops an understanding of cause and effect group variables among them. This research is the first of its kind to extensively review the relevant literature in e-commerce adoption and assess the selected key factors which are equally relevant in the B2G e-commerce adoption. The authors apply a unique multi-criteria decision-making technique called DEMATEL to understand the nature of the barriers and collect data from eight experts having experience in B2G procurement in the public sector and government organizations. The data findings revealed that out of nine selected variables, five (i.e., lack of IT infrastructure [B1], lack of expertise and technical skills [B2], high cost of technology [B3], perceived information security risk [B5], and lack of awareness of government issues and legal policies [B6]) belonged to the ‘cause group' whereas the remaining four (i.e., organisational resistance to change [B4], lack of top management support [B7], low perceived operational benefits [B8], and unwillingness to adopt B2G e-commerce services [B9]) were found to be part of ‘effect group'. The theoretical and practical implications of the current study may enhance the understanding of B2G e-commerce adoption.

Many countries are exploring the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve their operations and services, and China is no exception. However, not all AI techniques or automation approaches are suitable for every government service or process since transparency and accountability are paramount in the public sector. In this context, automation via expert systems (ES) is still a vital complement or even an alternative to AI techniques, because they can be more easily audited for potential biases. This paper analyzes the smart examination and approval (SEA) process use in China and explores how different forms of automation could be better options for certain services or specific processes within services, considering their level of transparency as an important characteristic. Based on these results, the authors argue that governments could consider hybrid approaches combining, for example, machine learning, for verification processes, and ES, which are more easily auditable, to make final decisions on individual cases. They also propose a classification of services by considering the extent of automation and process transparency needed. The classification considers a hybrid approach such as SEA, but also include other alternatives such as the exclusive use of AI techniques, as well as traditional online delivery and face-to-face procedures.

To contribute to digitalization and accountability research, this study adopted a pattern arising from failure due to weak accountability that was initially identified in Great Britain. This was done to investigate if the pattern reappeared in digitalization initiatives at the Swedish municipal level. Attempting to answer this, the present study structured a survey sent to every municipality in Sweden, resulting in a response rate of 40.4%. It was not possible to statistically claim that the pattern repeated itself in the chosen context, making this study's main contribution to stress that there might be a pattern as an effect due to weak accountability, without any knowledge of how this pattern presents itself.

Jordanian government has made a commendable effort towards designing and disseminating e-government portals on the web. However, there are certain barriers that have caused a significant deterioration in the e-government development index (EGDI) rank for Jordan in the last few years. The paper aims to understand the influence of the factors relating to e-government adoption to improve upon the trailing factors and move further on the EGDI. This study proposes a research model considering constructs such as relative advantage, perceived trust, computer self-efficacy, perceived awareness, resistance to change on behavioral intention. The data were collected through questionnaire survey. The data were analysed using structural equation modeling (SEM) of AMOS 25.0. The results of the analysis showed that relative advantage, perceived trust, computer self-efficacy and perceived awareness have a positive and significant influence on behavioral intentions whereas resistance to change found to negatively influence the citizens' behavioral intentions to adopt the e-government services.
