This article discusses the origin of the Kamennaya Steppe Nature Reserve in the Voronezh Region. The reasons for the preservation of this area in an untouched form are analyzed, the importance and relevance of the activities carried out at this object is shown. It tells about the soil transformations of this place during the expedition of Professor Dokuchaev at the end of the 19th century and provides examples of modern scientific activity on the territory of the reserve.

Preservation of biodiversity, ecosystems, individual plant species and their habitats is of paramount importance. The article describes habitats of Siberian proleska not typical for the species – floodplains of the rivers Vetlyanka and Melik, tributaries of the Khopr 2 and 4 orders. In cenopopulations generative specimens are present in rather large numbers – 44,2 on the Vetlyanka river and 159,4 specimens on the Melik river per 100 m2. In floristic environment there are species characteristic for overmoistened habitats. Habitats are not subjected to anthropogenic influence. It is necessary to monitor price populations and preservation of these ecotopes as a possible optimal existence of Scilla siberica.

The article presents information on the results of monitoring the ecological state of soils of the green infrastructure of the small town of Liski. It has been established that in the city and suburban areas, mainly soddy-forest sandy soils are widespread, which are a background component of the structure of the soil cover of natural landscape complexes. The analysis is carried out and the characteristics of the physicochemical and chemical properties of soddy forest soils are given. It is shown that the soils of the suburban area have more favorable properties than similar soils of the urban area.

The successful introduction of promising plant species into the culture, including introducers, is possible on the condition of a deep study of the biology of their development, reproduction, as well as the peculiarities of cultivation and use. Tree and shrub species have a whole range of different abiotic and biotic factors and need to conduct long-term observations, assessment and prediction of their condition. We consider it necessary to conduct an inventory of the woody flora on the territory of our campus and provide data on the state of species in order to improve the microclimate.

Abstract: the data on leaf blotch miner moth Acrocercops brongniardella are given, based on articles describing observations of these particular species on the territory of Russia, and on the basis of monitoring the city of St. Petersburg. For all the sites described, the miner is an invasive species, which makes studying the dynamics of its population characteristics interesting. Various results of its introduction into new habitats were noted, for example, in some territories the species gives outbreaks of mass reproduction, being one of the main pests of oaks, in others, after settling, it remains underrepresented and is extremely rare.

As a result of the research, it was found that the first reception of renewal felling in Pinetum pleuroziosum ensures the successful renewal of the pine. There is no tendency to change species in this type of forest. In clean Pinetum pteridiosum and Pinetum oxalidosum, after the renewal felling, successful renewal of the pine also takes place and its further growth and development. In mixed Pinetum pteridiosum and Pinetum oxalidosum (with an admixture of spruce up to 40–50% or more of the total stock), the renewal of pine is unsatisfactory. Instead, there is an active renewal of spruce, which indicates the presence of a tendency towards succession of pine with spruce.

An assortment of introduced and local selection of pyramidal poplars in the landscaping of Voronezh is presented. The growth and condition of the Soviet pyramidal poplar, Yablokov's poplar, and Balsamichesky improved selection by A.S. Yablokova; Bolle Kamyshinsky, Pyramidal-sedge-bore Kamyshinsky selection A.V. Albensky; hybrids white poplar × poplar Bolle, selection by V.P. Petrukhnova; poplar selection A.P. Tsarev trees grow in the populetum of the Semiluksky forest nursery, the black pyramidal poplar. The height of individual poplars reaches 35 m. The condition of the poplars of the White true section at the age of 65 is good, the condition of balsamic and black hybrid poplars is satisfactory.

The work is devoted to the issues of landscape design on the territory of a private estate, which would meet the principles of functionality, year-round decorativeness and minimal maintenance. The results of the design of the site in the village of Starozivotinnoye of the Ramonsky district of the Voronezh region are presented. A functional zoning scheme, an architectural and planning solution of the object and an assortment of plants have been developed, materials have been selected (for planar structures, mulching components, curb tapes), the order of work has been determined, estimates for the layout of the site and the removal of the project to the terrain have been calculated.
