The paper provides an analysis of the vegetation state and soil cover of the "Temernitskaya Roscha" and the "Schepkinsky Les" artificial recreational forests which located in the Rostov-on-Don city. Geobotanical descriptions were carried out according to the standard method to species diversity assessing. The “Temernitskaya Roscha" recreational forests has been affected by anthropogenic pressure, but its grass cover was more diverse than in the "Schepkinsky Les" recreational forests where tree plant species was dominated. The study of the soil cover revealed a statistically significant increase of the organic matter content in the AUrz surface horizon. This increase was noted in soils under woody vegetation, in comparison with steppe zones which are typical for our region. In the underlying AU horizons, the accumulation and distribution of Corg, in turn, has a similar character for all studied soils. There are no significant differences between the chernozems of the forest park zone and fallow territories in the accumulation and distribution of Corg. The calcium carbonates profile distribution under woody vegetation is characterized by a decrease in the carbonated depth, visual blurriness of the presence of carbonates and the presence of rarely encountered lime nodules in the lower part of the profile.

The influence of the introduction of grain straw and cellulosolytic micromycete on the seasonal dynamics of exchangeable compounds of zinc and copper under the conditions of a multifactorial field experiment on leached chernozems was studied. It is shown that straw, with a lack of other fertilizers, is able to replace them, enriching the soil with valuable organic substances. The results obtained indicate that the introduction of green manure significantly increases the content of exchangeable compounds Zn and Cu, especially when a cellulolytic micromycete is added to the straw, which accelerates its decomposition. There is a decrease in the amount of exchangeable Zn and Cu compounds by the end of the growing season, due to their intensive consumption by plants. The data obtained indicate the absence of contamination of the studied soils with elements, on the contrary, they note the lack of exchangeable Zn and Cu compounds.

The content of mobile forms of heavy metals in agricultural soils in the south of Primorsky region with the introduction of biochar in doses of 1 kg/m2 and 3 kg/m2 was studied. Where are no excess of maximum permissible concentration in agricultural soils. Biochar in doses of 1 and 3 kg/m2 is able to reduce the content of heavy metals in some elements (Cd, Zn, Cr, Ni, Cu, Fe, Mn).

The article presents the results of a survey of plantings in the park "Ilyich" - one of the objects of landscape architecture in the Levoberezhny district of Voronezh. An inventory of green spaces has been carried out. 15 species belonging to 10 families have been identified. Hanging birch occupies a leading position in the plantation - 21%. Norway maple - 15%, silver maple - 15%, as well as small-leaved linden - 14%, white poplar - 6%. The rest of the species (large-leaved linden, common hawthorn, common ash, white willow, black poplar, bignoniform catalpa, European larch, small-leaved elm, prickly spruce, horse chestnut) in total make up less than 30%. The average category of the state of trees as a whole for the square is 2.5, which indicates the initial stage of weakening of plantations. The main pathological signs of trees in the plantings of the square are drying out of skeletal branches, mechanical damage, drying of the top, as well as settlements of stem pests, sap flow, water shoots on the trunk and branches. Such pathological signs as a frost crack, a fruiting body of mushrooms, and a cancerous tumor are rarely present. In order to restore and strengthen the recreational, architectural, decorative and sanitary and recreational functions of the Ilyich square, it is necessary to carry out a set of measures, including: removal of dying and dead trees; sanitary pruning, removal of overgrowth and excess shoots, treatment of wounds and hollows, treatment of frost cracks, treatment of plants against phytopotagens.

This article discusses the problem of greening the territory of the coastal part of the city (embankment). An assortment of plants is offered, based on climatic conditions, the specifics of the object and growing conditions. The variants of design solutions are considered and their necessity is explained. Small architectural forms selected for design are described. Attention is paid to functional zoning.

The paper considers the shrub layer of plantings of the Tanais Park. The dominant species of the shrub layer are spireaVangutta, common lilac, squat elm and round-leaved irga. Less often in the park there are common hazel, crowned chub, golden currant, brilliant dogwood, single-petaled hawthorn, dog rose, Tatar maple, blood-red svidina. The most decorative are spireaVangutta, common lilac and dog rose. The remaining species received an average rating of decorativeness, as well as some mixed hedges and ordinary plantings.

The analysis of damage to freshly harvested acorns at the end of September 2021 on the permanent forest seed plots of the Shchigrovsky forestry of the Kursk region and the Kasnogvardeisky forestry of the Belgorod region is presented. It was noted that 8% of healthy acorns were found in the Kursk region of healthy acorns, with rot 32%, acorn weevil damaged 37% of the seeds and 10% of the acorn moth. On PLSU in the Belgorod region healthy acorns are 9.1%, with rot 13.6%, acorn weevil damaged 15% of the seeds and 28.8% of the acorn moth. Apparently the number of healthy acorns in October will be much higher.

The results of the landscape and ecological assessment of the territory of the zone of cultural events of the Voronezh State Natural Biosphere Reserve named after V. M. Peskov are presented. The following indicators of landscape and ecological assessment are determined: the type of landscape, the type of spatial structure, sanitary and hygienic assessment, aesthetic assessment. The results of the study showed that the site is in good sanitary condition, the indicator of aesthetic assessment is 2. We also studied the composition and condition of existing woody and shrubby vegetation. The assortment available on the territory is represented by the following types of woody plants: Betula pendula, Ulmus glabra, Prunus communis, Quercus robur, Picea abies, Acer platanoides, Populus balsamefera, Populus tremula, Fraxinus excelsior. In the study area, the woody vegetation is in good and satisfactory condition. Based on the results of the assessment of the territory, project activities are planned to improve the aesthetic assessment.

In Russia and abroad, there are large areas of land represented by sands and sand-chalk mixtures. The main task is to grow stable, long-lasting plantings on them. The authors propose to use common pine for the restoration of zonal and technogenically disturbed lands. The study of pine plantations allows us to assess their reclamation efficiency and forest suitability of the territory.
