Family planning is one of the most successful development interventions of the past 50 years. It is unique in its range of potential benefits, encompassing economic development, maternal and child health, and educational advances among others. The evidence is clear: Family planning improves health, reduces poverty, and empowers women. Yet, today, more than 200 million women in the developing world want to avoid pregnancy but do not have the right sources of information on family planning. This made them face many obstacles, including a lack of access to information and health care services. A descriptive survey design was adopted in this study and no variable was manipulated. Rural women of childbearing age were used in this study, stratified sampling technique was used to select 200 respondents from 12 wards in Boki LGA of cross river state. Two valid and reliable instruments were used for data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson moment product. The result reveals that women between the age of 31 and above are involved in family planning, the level of their education is at SSCE with a percent of (42%), rural women’s attitude has a positive relationship with Family planning (N=200, r = .915**, p<.005). It is recommended that childbearing age women in rural communities should be given enough information on family planning as well as its importance in society.

Waste, environmental protection and community sustainability are products of development, and most daily activities of human beings generate waste. The negative consequences of economic development have long been observed by eminent economic theorists, such as Smith, Marx, Malthus, Ricardo and Mill (Clarin, 2018). There are some indicators that show that most countries have failed to achieve sustainable development, and some countries are far from it. There has also been a growing concern about the environmental limit to growth and development as well as the imperative of environmental quality and management. As a result, this paper firstly conceptualized the following terms-“Waste”,“Waste Management”,“Environment”, “Environmental Sustainability”, Community, Community Sustainability, and Sustainable Development. The paper further discussed the composition of waste materials in Nigeria. It again examined various international and national measures or activities taken in relation to the concept of community sustainable development. The scholars in addition discussed the rationale for environmental protection and the negative impacts of waste on Nigerian environment. Furthermore, several measures taken internationally and nationally to ameliorate the negative impacts of wastes on environment were concisely discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate on value orientation, parental attitude and attitude to examination malpractice among senior secondary school students in Southern Educational Zone of Cross River State. To achieve the purpose of this study, two null hypotheses were generated to direct the study. Literature review was done according to the variables under study. Ex-post factor research design was adopted for the study. A sample of one thousand (1000) students was randomly selected. The selection was done through the simple random sampling technique. The questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. The instrument was both face and content validated by the supervisors and experts in measurement and evaluation in the Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, Calabar. The reliability estimates of the instruments established through split-halg reliability method. The reliability co-efficient ranges from 0.70-1.83. Pearson product moment correlation analysis and one-way analysis of variance!(ANOVA)!were the statistical analysis techniques adopted to test the hypotheses under study. All hypotheses were subjected to testing at 0.05 level of significance with relative degrees of freedom. The results of the analysis revealed that, parental socio-economic status, parental occupation, parental educational level, family size, value orientation and parental attitude significantly influence students’ attitude towards examination malpractice in southern educational zone of Cross River State. Based on the results and findings of the study, it was recommended that Action arising from the results of the study could include the following to minimize examination!malpractice. the results of the study should be presented to the Department and Faculty. The counselors to Guidance and Counselling Units should discuss results at seminars organized by the!authority and regularly organise parents teachers association (PTA)!meeting!where school/examination related problems could be discussed. This is to create awareness for parents, counselors teachers, school and other stakeholders in education on the prevailing incidence of examination malpractice status. Teachers and consumers should help students to develop a sensitive self-concept and value orientation of themselves to abhor examination malpractice. !!Government, School Educational Board and non-governmental organizations should assist in providing schools with necessary learning facilities to improve upon the present teaching/learning situation. This will go a long way to helping the less privileged students. Teachers and counselors should identify strategies of reducing test anxiety by giving frequent tests to students as this may reduce malpractice behaviours during examination. Parents should not encourage malpractice behaviour among students by sponsoring them financially.!School authorities should ensure that teachers perform their duties effectively to avoid students’ involvement i

The study examined the difference in academic self-concept of secondary school students based on social activities in Uyo Local Education Committee. Two purposes of the study, three research questions and three hypotheses were formulated and tested at .05 level of significance and at 373 degree of freedom. Descriptive survey design was adopted, while the population of the study comprised 6,083 Senior Secondary Two (SS2) students in the fifteen (15) public secondary schools in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. A sample size of 375 Senior Secondary Two (SS2) students which represents 5 percent of the study population was selected for the study using Taro Yamane sampling formular. Systematic random sampling technique was used to select 7 public secondary schools for the study, while hat and draw method random sampling was used to select the sampled respondents from each of the sampled schools. A self-structured questionnaire titled “Social Activities and Students Academic Self-Concept Questionnaire (SASASQ)” was used for data collection. Mean and standard deviation was used to answer the research questions and independent t-test was used to test the research hypotheses. Findings of the study showed a significant difference in academic self-concept of secondary school students based on field trip activities and group study activities in Uyo Local Education Committee. Conclusion was drawn from the findings and the researchers recommended among other things, that teachers should always enlighten the students on the needfulness of forming study groups so that they can have a re-defined and purposeful academic self-concept for better achievement.

There has been significant interest in the quality of decision-making in recent times. Decision-making is spearheaded by leadership, and leadership styles propounded by different scholars have been evolving. Therefore, providing quality leadership amid crises and pandemics gives rise to the exploitation of new ways of leadership style. The author assesses and draws from different leadership styles to form a leadership style called Interleadership. It is the hope of the author that the Interleadership style, will yield maximum benefits to leaders during crises and normal times as well. The author applied a desktop study design and used a maximum variation purposive sampling technique to select fourteen leadership styles for the study. unlike other leadership styles where perspectives to tackle problems from outside the usual boundaries are considered a solution, the Interleadership style synthesizes leadership styles to develop a new perspective to leadership during crises and regular times.
