This paper presents an improved model of doubly fed induction generator accounting for saturation of the magnetic circuit. This is done by introducing an equivalent inductance depending on the magnetizing current, which determines a state of machine magnetic circuit. This methodology permits that the DFIG will be analyzed and controlled under a nonlinear condition. Resulting equations with all basic nonlinear functions are presented.

In this article, we are interested in the comparative study between two control techniques of the doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) functioning in motor mode, these two control approaches are: the field oriented control (FOC) and the direct torque control (DTC). At the beginning, we focused on the study of the principle of operation and the modeling of the DFIM. Secondly, we studied and realized the implementation of commands on the Matlab/Simulink environment. Finally, the simulation results of the studied controls are presented, analyzed and compared.

In this paper, we report a simple one — dimensional electromechanical method to model piezoelectric transducer array elements well known by slender bar elements. The method is inspired from the Mason's simplified model, which is tested in the case of a piezoelectric plate and extended to a rectangular slender bar. The research work investigates the effects of the material parameters on the electroacoustic performances i.e. on the electrical impedance and the displacement. Firstly, it compares the performances of a piezoelectric plate obtained experimentally and those calculated from the equivalent circuit. Two approaches are tested: the first method consists on the determination of the circuit components from the manufacturer parameters and the second one deduces them from the measured electrical impedance. The second approach is then tested in the case of a piezoelectric rectangular slender bar similar to those constituting the medical transducer arrays. In this case, the electrical impedance and the displacement obtained are very close to the measured ones, especially around the resonance frequency. The same approach will be used to study a complete transducer array i.e. taking into account all the elements, the filling material, the matching layers and the backing. This constitutes the objective of our future works.

This paper proposes a Model Predictive Control (MPC) of dc-dc buck power converter. The control objective is to ensure a tight regulation of the output voltage and asymptotic stability of the closed loop system. It is shown using simulations results that the output voltage perfectly tracks its reference.

The network traffic data employed to build an intrusion detection system (IDS) is always large with ineffective information, that what decrease it efficiency. To deal with this issue, we need to remove the worthless information from the original high dimensional data by using a feature extraction method. The most famous technique which fulfills this role is Linear Discriminant Analysis. However, this method has an important limitation. The class mean vector employed in this method is always estimated by the class sample average. That is not enough to approximate the class mean, specially with the presence of outliers. In this paper, we suggest to use the truncated mean to estimate the class mean vector in LDA modeling. Many experiments on KDDcup99and NSL-KDD indicate the superiority of the proposed technique.

Optimal Power Flow (OPF) using the Multi objective functions is becoming one of the most important issues in power system. This paper presents a new method to solve the highly constrained multi-objective optimization. In the proposed approach, Multi Objective Backtracking Search Algorithm (MOBSA) is used as the main optimizer for optimal adjustments of the power system control variables of the OPF problem. Considering several objectives such as fuel cost minimization, voltage improvement, and voltage stability enhancement. The proposed technique has been examined and tested for standard IEEE 30 bus system. The MOBSA method is demonstrated and compared with several intelligence heuristic algorithms.

In this paper, a novel method for removing white gaussian noise from raw ECG signals based on Stationary Wavelet Transform and Interval Thresholding is proposed. Unlike the classical existing denoising methods in the wavelet domains, that apply a simple thresholding to details coefficients, we considers the extremums of each zero-crossings interval in the wavelet domain a whole to perform a thresholding function, which can highlight preserve the most clinical information about the region of the QRS complex in the reconstructed ECG signal. The performance of the proposed SWT-IT (Stationary wavelet transform-Interval Thresholding) method is evaluated in terms of Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Percent Root Mean Square Difference (PRD) using real ECG signals acquired from the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database. The simulations results show that the proposed method demonstrate superior performance compared with conventional ECG denoising approaches based on the wavelet filtering.

The problems of most Learning Management Systems (LMS) are first of all of a pedagogical nature and then of a technical one. Studying these problems, which are interrelated, provides a useful conceptual reference that enables us to design a new model for a more relevant solution. In this paper, a new conceptual model of an LMS is presented. The model is based on the hybridization between four learning theories, namely the traditional pedagogy, the behaviorism, the cognitivism, and the social constructivism. We will present at first each of these learning theories by discussing both their advantages and limits. Then, together the main principles of these learning theories and the technical functionalities of the proposed LMS that result from the hybridization of these principles are outlined. We finally discuss the implications of the new conceptual model for how to design and develop new LMS that fit the needs of their final users, in particular learners.

The objective of this study is to analyse two kinds of periodic infinite lattices widely used in acoustic filtering. The first network is formed by periodic close resonators and the second by periodic open resonators. Then we realize a combination of these two systems and we study and compare the effect on the band gap. Resonators are filters often used to reduce noise. We calculate the dispersion relation theoretically and numerically in this paper by using the matrix transfer method. Then, the results obtained are compared with those of the Green's function method often used in solid state physics.

This paper deals with the problem of controlling a DC-DC cascade boost converter associated to the fuel cell (FC) for electric vehicle (EV) applications. The control objective is mainly to regulate the dc output voltage to its desired constant value and to ensure asymptotic stability of the closed loop system. Based on the nonlinear model of the whole system (taking into account the nonlinear V-I characteristic of the FC and the nonlinear model of the cascade boost converter), a sliding mode controller is elaborated. It is shown using theoretical formalism and simulations that the proposed nonlinear controller achieves all the objectives.
