In this paper, a new control strategy of a multicellular converter (three cells) is proposed in order to drive a DC machine, there were two main goals to achieve: i) ensure a suitable distribution of flying capacitors voltage which implying the regulation of voltages across capacitors, ii) regulating DC motor velocity to a desired level. The proposed system is described by 4th order nonlinear mathematical model. To stabilize the global system and realize the above objectives, a controller based on differential flatness approach is synthesized in order to control this system. The simulation results have been performed through Matlab/SimPowerSystems environment and show that the designed controller meets its objective.

In this paper, a comparative study of Microstrip patch array antennas based on conventional geometries was performed. First, single element patch antennas with rectangular, circular, triangular and hexagonal geometry were studied based on the Transmission Line Model (TLM). The results have been optimized and validated by CADFEKO a solver which is based on the Method Of the Moments (MoM). Thereafter, we compare the performances of the antennas versus the geometry shape. Next, two and four elements for each geometry are studied in order to analyze their effect on the HPBW (Half Power Beam Width) and the total gain.

Over the past few years, the number of web services has grown rapidly and the task of selecting the relevant service that satisfy the user request becomes more and more difficult. Most proposed approaches for web services selection focuses on functional characteristics of services, and those who adopt the recommender system (RS) techniques to take into account the no-functional requirements give more importance to the user side. Thus, there is a need of an approach that combines the two above perspectives by focusing on the user side (explicit and implicit requirements) and the service side (services capabilities). In this paper we propose a multi-level approach to select and recommend Semantic web services, the first level assumes the semantic functional services selection. The second level aims at filtering and ranking the selected services based on quality of services criteria (i.e. no-functional requirements) while the third level is a collaborative filtering RS which aims to enhance and increase the accuracy of the selection process. The experiment was performed using a test dataset and proves the effectiveness of our approach.

With the considerable increasing integration into the power grids, the wind farms have to be able to contribute to the grid voltage stability. In this paper, a reactive power control strategy that allows getting the number of units within the wind power plant based doubly fed induction generator wind turbine that take part in the reactive power support during a voltage variation at the point of common coupling is presented. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Partial shading (PS) in photovoltaic array is one of the main problems that can be faced when extracting solar energy. It takes place when certain spots of the photovoltaic (PV) array are shaded, while other parts are left uniformly irradiated. PS remarkably reduces the output power and could damage shaded cells if they are not protected. As the PS effect is not proportional to the shaded area and the P-V curve exhibits several local maximum power points, conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques become ineffective. In this paper, we analyze the behavior of the array output power under PS throw simulation of several possible scenarios in order to approximate the I-V (P-V) characteristic and facilitate the extraction of the maximum power of the PV array.

The astonishing evolution in microelectronic systems pushes the conventional 2D technology to its ultimate limits in terms of both performance and functionality while reducing power and cost criteria. To overcome such challenges, using 3D integration with Through Silicon Vias (TSVs) interconnects, seems to be as a good candidate for the assembly of multilayers into a single stack. Therefore, in this work, we report on the evaluation of the impact of TSV interconnects on the electrical performance of CMOS circuits, particularly the CMOS ring oscillator, by means of SPICE-like simulations. To this purpose, an analytical model is used, which is able to describe the behavior of TSVs and ring oscillator in a circuit level and other phenomena such as the substrate coupling. This study is made in order to optimize the performance of a ring oscillator with the presence of 3D-TSV interconnects as a function of different technological parameters. The analytical approach has proved its effectiveness to perform rapid and reliable simulations to investigate the substrate coupling induced by the TSV on a commonly used CMOS circuits such as the ring oscillator.

In this paper, a power factor control of PV system connected to the grid is established, the proposed model is based on two control loops: the first control loop regulates DC link voltage and the second one is used to keep the injected current to the grid in phase with the voltage by means of a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) in order to achieve a unit power factor and to adjust the output power as required. In order to examine the effectiveness of the suggested control, a simulation using the Matlab/Simulink software has been done and it's concluded from the simulation results that the presented control can be able to maintain maximum active power and to keep always a unity power factor despite variation load.

Thinking in terms of business processes that integrate the functional areas leads to improvements in communication, workflow, and success of company, each organization needs to share information between functions and functional area. For this reason ERP software comes to provide this capability by using a common database. ERP system allows integrating all information in company: financial accounting, human resource, supply chain management and customer information. There is several ERP software currently available, both licensed paid and open source but they don't share the same characteristics.

Electromyography is a technique for the study of muscular activity in which placed sensors provide electrical signals. These signals require electronic and computer processing to improve the quality of information requested for the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders. The aim of this study is to present a continuous wavelet based technique for the analysis of the electromyography signals with first giving an overview of the functioning of the neuromuscular system. A comparison between healthy, neuropathy and myopathy signals using the continuous wavelets transform using the MATLAB software was done. This technique is efficient to compare and interpret these different categories of EMG signals.
