Effects of beamwidth on the laser radar cross-section (LRCS) of objects in random media is studied in this paper. Turbulence, with various correlation functions, is postulated as the surrounding medium around the object. Vertical incident wave polarization (H-wave incidence) is assumed.

Dual band Fabry-Pérot antenna with broad radiation bandwidth 宽辐射带宽的双频法布里-帕姆罗特天线

This paper presents the design of a dual- and wideband Fabry-Pérot antenna for WLAN applications. By designing a novel unit cell having positive phase gradient at dual frequency bands, a dual- and broad-band high-gain performance is then obtained. Simulated results show that the peak gain of the Fabry-Pérot resonator fed by a dual-slot antenna is about 13.5 dB at the 2.4 GHz and 5.6 GHz bands. Additionally, the 3-dB gain bandwidth is 9.6 % and 14.1 % for the 2.4 and the 5.6 GHz, respectively.

Artificial neural network (ANN) approach for synthesis and optimization of (3D) three-dimensional periodic phased array antenna 基于人工神经网络(ANN)的三维周期相控阵天线合成与优化

This paper provides a precise analytical formula that permits to draw the radiation pattern characteristics corresponding to three-dimensional (3D) periodic array antennas. The given systems are implemented in Matlab, Based on the known linear array antenna in 1D and 2D configurations. The often analytical solutions are not available for complex real systems, so that the computational cost of a single analysis can be prohibitive; hence the design strategy has to be very effective and flexible. Optimization algorithms have given an important role as reliable techniques for electromagnetic designs. Then, this work focuses on using an efficient artificial neural network (ANN) approach for the modeling and synthesizing of the uniformly spaced linear phased array antenna in any given configuration (1D, 2D and 3D), and describes the basics of artificial neural network. So, assuming the network's training database contains a finite number of samples of targets at certain angles are available. A part of the database is used to train the network and the rest is used to test its performance for target, identification and classification. Used neural networks are multi-layered perceptron (MLP) with a back-propagation training algorithm. The given synthesis approach assured considerable improvements in terms of performances, computational speed (convergence's time) and software implementation. Simulation results using different numbers for three-dimensional array antenna are given. The antennas arrays synthesis and optimization by neural networks are again presented and discussed. However ANN is able to generate very fast the results of synthesis by using generalization with early stopping method. To validate this work, several examples are shown.

Ridge-gap waveguide slot antenna with ENZ medium for millimeter-wave MIMO applications 用于毫米波MIMO应用的ENZ介质脊隙波导槽天线

In this paper a new technique is proposed to obtain a two-dimensional beam-titling radiation pattern for millimeter-wave applications at 60 GHz. The proposed technique consists of a ridge-gap waveguide slot antenna as a TM source. To tilt the main-beam direction in the E and H-planes of the slot antenna, a 3×5 arrays of anisotropic epsilon-near zero (ENZ) metamaterial unit-cells is designed. The simulation results confirm that when a 3×5 arrays of ENZ unit-cells are integrated vertically over the slot antenna in the off-axis, the beam radiation deflects in the E and H-planes by 30 degrees, simultaneously, at 60 GHz. The antenna gain corresponds to 10.8 dBi at 60 GHz with loading ENZ unit-cells.

Compact UWB high gain fermi taper slot antenna for future 5G communication systems 面向未来5G通信系统的紧凑型超宽带高增益费米锥形槽天线

In this paper, an UWB high gain fermi taper slot antenna for 5G mobile communication networks is proposed. The antenna has a compact volume of 16.1 × 10 × 0.127 mm3. The matching between a rectangular taper slot and 50-Ω microstrip line is manipulated through aproximity-feed technique. Furthermore, the fermi taper slot antenna is modified by incorporating corrugations on the edges of fermi metallic flaring section. The antenna is designed to operate within the frequency band of 15.4 GHz to 36.8 GHz with -10dB impedance bandwidth. The proposed antenna shows nearly stable end fire radiation patterns throughout the frequency range.

Bandwidth enhancement in Ka-Band circularly polarized reflectarray using stacked cross-bowtie elements 利用叠置交叉领结元件增强ka波段圆偏振反射射线的带宽

In this paper, stacked element technique has been employed to broaden the bandwidth (BW) for circularly polarized (CP) reflectarray in the Ka-Band. A wideband double layer λ/4 unit cell with cross-bowtie elements, has been proposed. The element rotation technique has been used to obtain the phase characteristics of the unit cell. A 25×25 reflectarray has been designed for the full-wave analysis that provides higher aperture efficiency and wider RA bandwidth. The proposed antenna provides, 1-dB gain bandwidth of 33 %, 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 53 %, SLL of -18 dB, and a maximum aperture efficiency of 58 % (at 30 GHz).

Hybrid artifact removal for breast imaging applied to a time-domain microwave system 时域微波系统中乳腺成像的混合伪影去除

In this paper, we demonstrate the successful use of a hybrid artifact removal algorithm for microwave breast imaging when applied to a time-domain system. This algorithm, previously applied to VNA-based prototypes, combines two existing algorithms to remove the early time response primarily due to the direct pulse between antennas, and the skin response. We discuss the modifications necessary to this previously developed algorithm to correctly extract the tumour response signal for our time-domain system. We also compare post-processing results for simulation and experimental data.

A compact, high gain and high efficiency 8×2 patch antenna array for 60 GHz communication systems 用于60 GHz通信系统的紧凑、高增益和高效率8×2贴片天线阵列

In this paper, a compact, high-gain and high-efficiency 8×2 elements microstrip patch antenna array has been designed, fabricated, and characterized. The proposed array configuration was optimized to operate at 60 GHz frequency band, using as a material, a thin ceramic substrate (εr = 9.9 and h = 127 μm) and, as a technique, the inset-feed based on quarter-wave impedance matching method. Design simulation has been performed by using Advanced Design System Software (ADS) from Keysight Technologies. The proposed array structure exhibits excellent performances in terms of gain (16.8 dB), directivity (17.9 dB), and radiation efficiency (77.43%). It therefore meets perfectly the requirement for short-range indoor wireless applications, and it can be a suitable candidate for the millimeter wave RF front-end integrated circuits.

Progress in conductive polymer antennas based on free-standing polypyrrole and PEDOT: PSS 基于独立聚吡咯和PEDOT: PSS的导电聚合物天线研究进展

In this paper, various realizations of microwave antennas based on free-standing conductive polymers including polypyrrole (PPy) and PEDOT:PSS (PEDOT) are reviewed in regard to two significant aspects: improvement of their efficiency and exploitation of their mechanical flexibility for antenna designs. On the one hand, with strategies such as simple chemical material treatments, deployment of non-resonant antenna structure and multilayer configurations, very high antenna efficiencies can be achieved. On the other hand, through the utilization of the conductive polymers and flexible, robust and low-loss substrates, reproducible antenna mechanical conformability can be achieved. All these facts suggest that conductive polymers are promising as conductor materials for flexible and wearable antenna designs.

Adaptive antenna array beamforming using variable-step-size normalized least mean square 变步长归一化最小均方自适应天线阵列波束形成

In this article novel Beamforming method is proposed for array antenna to control electrically and with software the beam pattern, reducing the noise, Orientation the pattern, signal superposition, Antenna array element selection and from hardware side in array antenna useful for power management. The proposed VSS-NLMS algorithm is used to weaken the undesirable interference. This algorithm utilizes continuous adaptation. The weights are attuned that the final weight vector to the most satisfied result. The gradient vector can be achieved by iterative beamforming algorithm from the available data. This algorithm is compared with LMS, NTMS, VSS-NLMS algorithms, it is determined that the VSS-NTMS algorithm is better performance to other algorithms. The proposed algorithm provides better convergence features than the LMS, NTMS, VSS-NTMS algorithms, because it can reduce the growth of the noise by dividing the step size parameter by input vector power. So finally, we can say that the VSS-NLMS is more useful for mobile communication system.
