A miniaturized Vivaldi antenna with modified feeding structure for UWB applications 用于超宽带应用的改进馈电结构的小型化维瓦尔第天线

A miniaturized Vivaldi antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is proposed. The antenna is designed to operate in the entire UWB spectrum from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. A new modified feeding structure is employed to miniaturize the Vivaldi antenna. The designed antenna is fabricated and tested. Experimental results show satisfactory performance of the antenna over the entire UWB frequency band.

Accuracy analysis of applying global surface impedance boundary condition to MPIE formulation for modeling plasmonic structures 将全局表面阻抗边界条件应用于等离子体结构MPIE模型的精度分析

The global surface impedance boundary condition (GSIBC), which is an exact relation between tangential electric and magnetic fields on the boundary, is used in the approximate formulation of mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) for analyzing some plasmonic structures. A criterion is defined based on the eigenvalues of GSIBC matrix and it is shown that for the conventional plasmonic circuits this approximation is acceptable. The examples illustrate the accuracy and numerical efficiency of this formulation.

Natural poles of ferrite coated metal sphere 铁氧体涂层金属球体的天然两极

Scattered energy from targets includes important information about shape, size and material that could be used for identification. In this paper, effect of ferrite coating on the natural poles of a metal sphere is investigated. The Cauchy method is used for extraction of natural poles from frequency domain scattering response of the object. The main advantage of Cauchy method is that the challenging step of separation of early time and late time has been prevented. The variation of poles as a function of ferrite coating parameters is reported.

A millimeter wave Vivaldi antenna with contoured platted vias for next generation wireless communication systems 一种用于下一代无线通信系统的具有轮廓镀金属通孔的毫米波维瓦尔第天线

We present a millimeter wave slot coupled Vivaldi antenna (SCVA) for the 5th generation wireless communication systems. The performance of proposed SCVA is studied with contoured platted via holes introduced along the radiating tapered slots. The designed SCVA is compact with a size of 19.3×73.45 mm2. The simulation results show that the reflection coefficient (S11) is less than -10 dB from 24 GHz-40 GHz with an average gain of 13 dBi over the entire bandwidth. The radiation pattern is symmetrical in both azimuth and elevation planes. The dispersion, when ultra-short pulses of 16 GHz bandwidth are received by the proposed antenna, is of value less than 1 %.

A new multi-mode antenna element is introduced which enables miniaturization of Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) antenna arrays. The multi-mode antenna element supports continuous operation across GNSS operating bands, allowing multi-frequency and multi-constellation connectivity, and is compatible with Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) designs. Compared with previous multi-constellation GNSS array designs, arrays of multi-mode antenna elements offer reduced size and/or improved gain.

Flexible printed organic photovoltaic antennas

A flower shape flexible organic photovoltaic (OPV) module is designed such that it also operates as a dipole antenna element. It has a dc power efficiency of 5% at 500 lux being suitable for indoor light conditions, which is enough to power a 2.4 GHz ultra-low power radio together with sensors.

High gain circularly polarized substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slotted cavity antenna is proposed using TE440 high order modes. A linear to circular polarization convertor is used in order to achieve a circular polarization (CP). The antenna has many attractive advantages such as low profile, light weight, and compact in size. Moreover, it offers both left and right hand circular polarization. High gain of 16 dBi is achieved and the efficiency is about 98%. In addition, the antenna has a good radiation pattern. Therefore, this antenna consider more appropriate for Future fifth generation (5G) wireless systems.

A study for radar cross section reduction using flat layer radar absorbent material 利用平层雷达吸收材料减小雷达横截面的研究

Various scattering phenomena with RAM have been investigated by both measurement and theoretical calculation. In this study, RCS of one flat layer RAM, which is the basic pattern of flat layer RAM, is calculated and measured in order to clarify RCS characteristics. Moreover, RCS of two flat layers RAM is calculated. As a result, we confirmed that two flat layers RAM had the radio wave absorbing amount of 8.96 dB compared with one flat layer RAM.

Substrate choice impact on microwave sensor 衬底选择对微波传感器的影响

In this paper, the impact of dielectric properties of a carrier substrate on the sensitivity of a planar microwave resonator is studied for sensing applications. It is demonstrated experimentally and practically that the substrate material plays a significant role in microwave sensor's characteristics. As a generic planar ring resonator, a passive microwave ring resonator with a slit is used to illustrate that a low permittivity substrate has a significantly higher sensitivity to permittivity variation in its environment, compared with a substrate with higher permittivity. Extensively, it is demonstrated that the same sensitivity analysis regarding substrate dielectric properties can be extended to active resonators, which have a higher quality factor and resolution than passive structures.

Stacked coupled-coil approach for multi-parameter passive wireless sensing 多参数无源无线传感的堆叠耦合线圈方法

This paper presents a stacked multiple coil design for simultaneous multi-parameter narrow-band sensing with RLC-type near-field coupled resonators. The resonant frequency and Q-factor of each RLC sensor is dependent on change of stored energy and loss in response to the parameter of interest. One challenge with these types of sensors is mutual coupling between coils and thus interdependence of parameters. In order to null mutual coupling between coils and reduce sensing area the coils are stacked in a designed overlapping configuration. The configuration enables the response of each sensor and thus sensed parameters to be independent. The swept frequency impedance response of an interrogator coil, inductively coupled to the sensors, remotely tracks the parameters of each sensor. EM simulation and experiments with a two-parameter (relative humidity and temperature) sensor shows the stacked overlapping structure accomplishes narrow-band multi-parameter sensing without substantial increase in size. The approach has application in flexible thin-film substrate printed sensors.

Bridges","doi":"10.1109/ANTEM.2016.7550147","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ANTEM.2016.7550147","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents a stacked multiple coil design for simultaneous multi-parameter narrow-band sensing with RLC-type near-field coupled resonators. The resonant frequency and Q-factor of each RLC sensor is dependent on change of stored energy and loss in response to the parameter of interest. One challenge with these types of sensors is mutual coupling between coils and thus interdependence of parameters. In order to null mutual coupling between coils and reduce sensing area the coils are stacked in a designed overlapping configuration. The configuration enables the response of each sensor and thus sensed parameters to be independent. The swept frequency impedance response of an interrogator coil, inductively coupled to the sensors, remotely tracks the parameters of each sensor. EM simulation and experiments with a two-parameter (relative humidity and temperature) sensor shows the stacked overlapping structure accomplishes narrow-band multi-parameter sensing without substantial increase in size.
