Psychiatry is a unique area of medicine where the doctor, holistically caring for the patient, often comes across many administrative, juridical or social difficulties. They seem to be less common among other specializations of medicine, but still knowledge in the field of law is an indispensable part of the specialization training of young psychiatry entrants. The ability to apply it properly is particularly important and often necessary while dealing with a psychiatric patient.

In this paper we discuss admission procedure to the COVID-19 quarantine department of a psychiatric hospital on the example of a patient diagnosed with paranoid syndrome We also present hospital admission criteria set out by the Ministry of Health, recommended procedures during inpatient treatment and discharge a patient from the hospital Special attention is given to the fact that referral of a patient who does not meet the above criteria may cause unneeded stress related to transport and refusal of admission Careful planning of referrals may help avoid unnecessary costs associated with the use of protective gear by all persons who come into contact with such a patient at every stage of his stay in the hospital We believe that in a context where any timeframe of the current epidemic in Poland remains unknown, familiarity and observance of the recommendations set out by the Ministry of Health is of particular importance © 2021 Polish Psychiatric Association All rights reserved

The big surge in mental health issues such as depression, psychosis, psychotic disorders and other allied ailments in Africa call for immediate and serious attention of the global community. A deep insight into these reviews exposes a highly important point that limited studies have been done on psychotic disorders in the African subcontinent. It is evident from these reviews that psychological problems are varied in nature and occurred due to a number of causes. The letter is an effort to bring attention of the research community that Africa required the maximum number of psychotic studies due to its socio-economic, psychological, medical and educational situation.

Aim of the study: Several psychosocial characteristics are well known to be importantly related to coronary heart disease (CHD). However, psychological aspects of surgical treatment of CHD and its implications for rehabilitation perspectives and cognitive changes of cardiac patients remain poorly understood. The article presents the results of studying the dynamics of emotional state of patients after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), measured before the surgery and at different stages of the rehabilitation process, and on a comparative analysis of trait and state anxiety and alexithymia of patients with CHD with different cognitive dynamics.
