Orneclem seckisiz kontrol ve mudahale gruparina ayrilmis, mudahal grubun, duyarlik ve duyarli discritical temali dort gorusme yapıldı。

The main purpose of the study was to examine the indirect role of conflict tactics (negotiation, psychological aggression and physical assault-injury) between mothers’ reports of economic hardship (economic strain, negative life events, and financial concerns) and adolescents’ internalization and externalization behaviors with one-year longitudinal study. The study was done with 171 married mothers aging between 28-60 years and who have children ages between 11-16 years. Economic Hardship Index, Conflict Tactics Scale and Child Behavior Checklist were used. The results of the study showed that perceived economic strain positively predicted negotiation between couples, whereas financial concerns positively predicted both negotiation and psychological aggression. Furthermore, while psychological aggression positively predicted internalization and externalization behaviors; physical assault-injury positively predicted externalization behaviors. In addition, psychological aggression had an indirect role between economic pressure and adolescents’ internalization and externalization behaviors, and also between financial concerns and adolescents’ internalization and externalization behaviors. It was showed that families’ economic conditions were associated with marital relationship and adolescents’ problem behaviors indirectly. Therefore, the results of the current study supported Family Stress Model on Turkish culture by indicating important findings and showed that economic situations of families affected family dynamics.

Single-case experimental research designs are rigorous and valid methods to investigate causal or functional relationships between dependent and independent variables. These designs are commonly used in applied fields of psychology, social work, and special education. A number of different methods have been developed to calculate effect size estimates to integrate results of single-case experimental research into meta-analysis of evidence-based practices. Many researchers in the international literature use nonoverlap methods to report effect sizes for single-case experimental research studies. In Turkey, although some researchers have recently used more sophisticated nonoverlap methods to calculate effect sizes for single-case experimental research studies, many still use early nonoverlap methods that have several limitations noted in the literature. In this respect, it is important to know the characteristics of nonoverlap methods, differences among these methods, and when to use which methods for researchers, conducting single-case experimental research studies. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to describe 13 nonoverlap methods to calculate effect size estimates in single-case experimental research in chronological order and explain their calculations using hypothetical data sets. Moreover, this paper aims to discuss advantages and disadvantages of these methods, offer guideline for interpreting effect size estimates, and provide considerations for selecting appropriate effect size methods based data obtained from single-case experimental research studies.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationships between daily workplace conflict, negative affect and job satisfaction and the potential moderators of this process via a diary study. For that purpose data were collected from 140 academic and administrative employees of a public university in Turkey on task conflict, relationship conflict, negative emotion, and job satisfaction across 15 work days. Rumination about the conflict episode and taking conflict personally were also assessed daily (if any conflict occurred on that particular day) as potential within-person moderators of the conflict – negative emotion relationship. Problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping were assessed as trait-like measures and were tested as potential cross-level moderators. The regression analysis using Hierarchical Linear Modeling revealed that workplace conflict was related with decreased levels of daily job satisfaction, and this relationship was fully mediated by the daily negative emotions individuals experienced. Rumination about the conflict episode and taking conflict personally were found to moderate the relationship between daily task conflict and daily negative emotion. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed and a call is made for designing creative conflict management intervention programs and conducting empirical studies to test the effectiveness of such interventions.

One of the important factors which are related to health status is health anxiety. Health anxiety affects people’s many behaviors and impairs quality of life. Likewise, it is affected by various factors. This study aimed to investigate the relationships among anxiety sensitivity, health-related dysfunctional beliefs, alexithymia, health anxiety, abnormal illness behaviors and quality of life within the scope of the cognitive behavioral model (CBM) and the related literature. In this study, with 503 participants (301 women, 202 men, Mage = 25.88), data were collected via Sociodemographic Information Form, Anxiety Sensitivity Index-3, Health Cognitions Questionnaire, The Twenty-Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Health Anxiety Inventory-Short Version, Scale for the Assessment of Illness Behaviour and World Health Organization BREF Quality of Life Assessment and analyzed with correlation and path analysis. Anxiety sensitivity and health-related dysfunctional beliefs predicted health anxiety, and health anxiety predicted abnormal illness behaviors and quality of life. Moreover, anxiety sensitivity predicted abnormal illness behaviors and quality of life. Health anxiety partially mediated the relationship between anxiety sensitivity and abnormal illness behaviors; and fully mediated the relationship between anxiety sensitivity and quality of life. Alexithymia directly predicted quality of life. Findings were consistent with CBM and they were discussed within the scope of the literature.

This study aimed to establish a mediation model in light of current approaches for understanding trait anger and anger expression. Accordingly, the mediating role of early maladaptive schemas in the relationship between attachment and trait anger and anger expression was tested by considering gender and attachment figure differences. Four hundred and forty-four university students with ages ranging from 17 to 28 participated in the study. Participants filled out Parental and Peer Attachment Scale Short Form, Young Schema Questionnaire Short Form 3, Trait Anger and Anger Expression Scales and a demographic data form. The mediating role of early maladaptive schemas in the relationship between attachment (mother and father) and anger (trait anger, anger in, anger out and anger control) was found to be significant for both male and female participants. Separate mediation analyses for both genders and different attachment figures have also drawn attention to the noticeable differences in results. Consequently, these analyses revealed that different schemas were found to be effective in the expression of anger and trait anger in men and women, and attachment figures of mother and father influenced these schema scores differently. Results of the study were discussed in terms of anger being explained through attachment and schemas, and contributions and implications of the study were presented.
