Lumbar pain is one of the most common pathologies encountered among the population. With advancing age, the predisposition to this type of pain increases, which can lead to a decrease in the quality of life. The present study was carried out on a group of 10 patients aged between 70 and 83 years, clinically diagnosed with lumbar discopathy. The recovery program consisted of specific physical therapy exercises associated with massage and medium frequency currents. The obtained results highlight the fact that the pain level decreased significantly following the functional rehabilitation protocol, and the mobility of the lumbar spine improved. The conclusions of the study emphasize the importance of physiotherapy programs in association with massage and medium frequency currents, in terms of improving the symptoms specific to lumbar discopathy in the elderly patient.

Abstract In a world that strives for superdiversity, it is very important that inclusiveness is present at all levels of social stratification and in different social groups. This paper provides a unique review of literature dealing with social mobility, community sport and the effects of martial arts, especially taekwondo, on the lives of children and young people. Ultimately, the aim of this paper is to provide a view of the possibilities of taekwondo as a sport and leisure activity, which could be an instrument for the vertical social mobility of children and young people who practice this sport. Likewise, the aim of the paper is to present the perspective of future research, especially in the Republic of Croatia since such research is lacking, and it is precisely these that are a possible foundation for community development in the context of equal opportunities for all.

The notion of a dual career for performance athletes implies, by definition, the involvement of related fields (work, education, health) in the field of sports. A country's rulers and those responsible for development policies must be aware of the vulnerability of athletes who end their careers. In reality, knowing the motivation, the desire for achievement in life by sports students, in relation to the different educational systems of Europe, can promote, according to Lupo et al. (2015), a better understanding of academic and sporting expectations, providing valuable information to decision makers in these areas. In this respect, cross-country comparisons, together with the determination of student athletes regarding dual careers, can contribute to the development of sustainable strategies for the realization of programs that combine education and sport.

This study aimed to prove the efficiency of circuit training in the Physical Education class for eighth graders. The study’s objective was to analyse the results obtained in the five force and endurance trials. As for the research subjects, they comprised 63 eighth graders, 36 boys and 27 girls. The tests used were endurance running: 800m girls/1000m boys, trials for the force of the lower limbs: standing long jump and squats, abdominal force: torso raises in 30” and arm force: push-ups in 30”. Findings have proven significant differences between pre-test and post-tests among boys and girls. From a statistical perspective, bivariate correlations between trials were performed, thus showing that the differences between boys in the pre-test are insignificant. At the same time, in the post-test, all the results are significant, with a P≤0.001. Among girls, the bivariate correlation shows that the results are significant in most trials, in the pre-test, with a P≤0.05, while in the post-test, the results feature in most trials a significance threshold of P≤0.001. Hence, the results highlight that using the circuit method for eighth graders can contribute to the development of the motor qualities of force and endurance.

Human communication is achieved with the help of the interaction between two types of relationships: direct (when we talk about interpersonal communication) and indirect (when technological support also intervenes in mediating communication). Nowadays, social media is spreading all over the world with the help of digital progress, which opens new approaches to a multitude of platforms and applications (Gabelaia, 2019). Because social media catalyzes the transmission of information between people, allowing them to amplify their voices and reach large audiences in fractions of a second and at no cost (Kocak & Kibris, 2022), it follows that social media is becoming an important factor in daily life. In the present research, it was analyzed which social network is, from the subjects' point of view, the most suitable to promote the phrase "dual career" in the online environment. The Levene's Test for equality of variances and the Chi-square Test of Independence were used to determine whether there were associations between the responses obtained. The conclusions of the research are obvious: there is a social network that can successfully promote the dual career of athletes among young people.

In this article we describe the methods of rehabilitation and physical deconditioning syndrome of the elders, the influence of physical training to improve the quality of life. Aging is a complex process in which a multitude of pathological, genetic and lifestyle factors are involved, and which is frequently associated with a reduction in functional capacity and the presence of chronic diseases. Physical inactivity and the presence of a sedentary lifestyle represent a significant risk factor affecting the health of the elderly. The geriatric patient is a biologically aged patient who presents an acute risk of losing his independence, following acute and/or chronic pathologies, with the limitation of physical, physiological, mental and/or social functions. The ability to perform the basic activities for ordinary independent living is compromised, diminished, or lost, so the physical deconditioning syndrome occurs. The person in question has increased needs for rehabilitation, psychological and physical care to avoid partial or total loss of independence.

The prevalence of overweight and obesity in children in the Republic of Moldova has increased dramatically in recent decades. And data from the Summary Report of the Health Behaviour Assessment Study of School-Aged Children (2014) shows that 11% of children are overweight, including 2.2% - obese. Recovery and correction of weight status in overweight and obese children requires a comprehensive approach involving dietary correction, regular physical activity, and behavioural changes, with a focus on long-term weight management rather than short-term extreme weight reduction. Recovery programs should incorporate reasonable weight loss goals, dietary correction, activity management and physical activity into both the instructional process and daily physical activity. Integrating physiotherapy into the educational instructional process is the modern approach and focuses on assessment, action planning, implementation, reassessment, modification, and discharge when goals are achieved. Subjects included in the study were 10 children with overweight, aged 12 - 13, who study in the Theoretical High School "Mihail Sadoveanu", Chisinau and at the Rehabilitation centre Kinetica. The period from September to May 2021 - 2022.
