Based on a fossil specimen from the late Eocene Rovno amber, Cryptophagus vorontsovi sp. nov. is described. The new species is similar to Cryptophagus harenus Lyubarsky et Perkovsky, 2012 differing by the pronotum distinctly narrowed basally and the lateral pronotal margin unidentate medially. The endemic composition of Rovno amber coleopterofauna is discussed. Only 15% of more than 90 Rovno amber beetle species are known also from Baltic amber.

The Afrotropical Lithosiini genus Anaphosia Hampson, 1903, which comprises the largest footman moth species on the continent, is reviewed with one new species described as new to science: Anaphosia smithi sp. n. The genus is re-described and diagnosed and compared to the similar Carcinopodia Hampson, 1900 with which it has been previously confused. Adults, male and female genitalia of all Anaphosia species as well as the type species of Carcinopodia, Carcinopodia furcifasciata (Butler, 1895) are illustrated.

The paper revises the status of the genus-group name Paraona Moore, 1878, which is confirmed as a junior subjective synonym of Macrobrochis Herrich-Schäffer, [1855], and the combination of its type species is revised: Macrobrochis splendens (Butler, 1877), comb. rev. The new genus Murmyshia gen. n. is described for ‘Paraona’ sensu authors. A new species is described from southern Myanmar: Murmyshia obscuria sp. n. Eight new combinations are established for species previously included in Paraona by various authors, including three Afrotropical taxa: Murmyshia unifascia (Hampson, 1901) comb. n. (the type species of the new genus), Murmyshia micans (Pagenstecher, 1895) comb. n., Macrobrochis nigra (Daniel, 1953), comb. n., Macrobrochis grahami (Schaus, 1924) comb. n., Macrobrochis hampsoni (Schaus, 1924) comb. n., Eilema bicolor (Toulgoët, 1968) comb. n., Eilema cocciniceps (Mabille, 1884) comb. n. and Ilemodes interjecta (Strand, 1912) comb. n. Two new synonymies are introduced: M. unifascia (Hampson, 1901) = Paraona wallaceana Spitsyn & Bolotov, 2020, syn. n., and M. micans (Pagenstecher, 1895) = Agylla dirabdus Rothschild, 1920, syn. n. The lectotype for Crambomorpha splendens Butler, 1877 is designated. Adults, male and female genitalia of all the Murmyshia gen. n. species as well as the type species of the similar genus Hesudra Moore, 1878, Hesudra divisa Moore, 1878, and Macrobrochis splendens are illustrated.

Variegated Pistacia atlantica in the Crimea 克里米亚的变色楷木

Pistacia atlantica Desf. is the only native species of the genus in the Crimean flora with the northernmost exclave of its Mediterranean – Western Asian area here. It is a relic and protected species. Authors made a first-ever discovery of P. atlantica with variegated leaves among the fragmented open woodland of Submediterranean shibljak in the vicinity of the town Alushta. Unique plant distinguishes from the morphological standard of the species with its leaves that show irregular and asymmetric variegation of yellowish and light-green stripes, deserving wide propagation as ornamental tree. Effected publication of the new cultivar name ‘Yuzhnoye Siyaniye’ is made in this paper.

The paper contains data on the fauna of the superfamily Noctuoidea (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae, Erebidae, Nolidae and Noctuidae) of Pavlodar Region (Northeast Kazakhstan). The checklist includes 549 species (20 species of Notodontidae, 110 species of Erebidae, 9 species of Nolidae, and 410 species of Noctuidae), 67 species are reported from the region for the first time, including one record first for the fauna of Kazakhstan (Amphipoea bifurcata Gyulai & L. Ronkay, 1994). The maps of types of vegetation and collecting localities, as well as pictures of the main landscapes of the region are provided.

The paper contains a review of six species of the genus Palaeugoa Durante, 2012 collected in Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park, north-eastern Republic of Congo, of which two are described as new species to science: Palaeugoa laszloi sp. n. and Palaeugoa ndoki sp. n. Three species, P. camerunensis (Strand, 1912), P. takanoi Volynkin & László, 2020, and P. asafis Volynkin & László, 2020, are reported from Republic of Congo for the first time and the hitherto unknown female of P. asafis is illustrated and diagnosed. Adults, male and female genitalia of all the species considered are illustrated.

Two new species of Metapocyrtus Heller from Mindanao Islands are described and illustrated: Metapocyrtus hamiguitan sp. nov., and Metapocyrtus mranaw sp. nov. Metapocyrtus hamiguitan sp. nov. is named after its type locality, Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, while Metapocyrtus mranaw sp. nov. is named after the Mranaw (o) tribe of Lanao. Notes on the taxonomy of the novel species are also presented in this paper.

The study of new available material of Plebejus idas (Linnaeus, 1761) confirmed the main conclusions of the complex review published by S. Churkin et A. Zhdanko in 2003. Important mistakes with ssp. subsolanus Eversmann, 1851 and ssp. cleobis Bremer, 1861 are corrected, the type locality of the latter is rediscovered, the improved descriptions of both taxа are done, the status of ssp. kenteana Staudinger, 1892, is revised and confirmed. In addition, P. i. reshetnikovi ssp. nov. (Type locality: Russia, East Sayan, Oka river valley) is described. The structure of the complex is discussed.

The article includes the descriptions of two new taxa of Plebejus idas (Linnaeus, 1761) from Mongolia: ssp. baitag ssp. nova (SW Mongolia, Baitag Mts.) and ssp. arshantyn ssp. nova (SW Mongolia, Mongolian Altai, Arshantyn Mts.). The relations with other Mongolian taxa are discussed, including the situation with P. i. saldaitisi Churkin et Zhdanko, 2003.
