The abstract outlines the content of a review on Math Modules, a program designed to facilitate the learning of foundational math skills through cognitive training techniques that are based on theory with a special focus on planning and executive functions, encompassing cognitive flexibility, attentional control, and working memory. The guiding educational principle is drawn from Vygotsky's concept of zones of proximal development, highlighting the belief that children can accomplish tasks with assistance that they may struggle with independently. In a way, the structure of cognitive training Modules can be viewed as an attempt at construct validity. A review of historical roots of Math modules is presented at some length. The program begins with the division of training the two key components of math proficiency: computing and solving word problems. Both rely on five essential skills.

The National Social Assistance Policy in Brazil during the Bolsonaro (dis)government period is vehemently affected by its ultraneoliberal dynamics of underfunding and moralization. Therefore, the present work seeks to present some aspects about the defunding, implementation and effectiveness of this policy in this period. Our methodology encompasses bibliographical and documentary research of the exploratory type, using historical-dialectical materialism as a method. Therefore, we conclude that Bolsonaro fulfilled the objective he proposed when he became president of the republic of dismantling any type of social protection for the most vulnerable, like the National Social Assistance Policy itself, aggravating social inequalities.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neuro developmental disorder that involves a series of behavioral aspects. Individuals with ASD have atypical development in the areas of learning, communication, social interaction, detection and handling of emotions, motor coordination and concentration. They may also have difficulty thinking flexibly and dealing with changes. With the advancement of information and communication technologies, an alternative used to assist in treating these children is the brain-computer interface (BCI). In this context, this article aimed to create a mental game controlled via ICC that would enable the monitoring of brainwave behavior and promote an improvement in the cognitive performance of children with ASD. To this end, a mixed methods experimental study was carried out with a sample of 21 children aged 9 to 11 years. The study was carried out in schools in the city of Fortaleza -Brazil. The children in the Experimental Group (EG) were exposed to a game that involved memorizing images to develop and improve reasoning by creating relationships between the images and the sequence of arranged cards. We investigated the cognitive abilities using the SON-R 6-40 Nonverbal Intelligence Test. Cognitive gains were observed in the participants of the Experimental Group (EG), including greater concentration, improved attention, and enhanced logical reasoning. Additionally, changes in some aspects of personal hygiene were noted in these children.

This article explores the benefits of using mother tongue languages in cross-border criminal investigations. It highlights the importance of linguistic ability and cultural awareness in detecting international crimes. Mother-tongue languages can improve information accuracy, trust, and communication. However, they can also lead to communication breakdowns, language barriers, and incorrect interpretation of evidence. The article also discusses the challenges of using dominant languages, such as resource requirements, technology's role in multilingual communication, and legal and ethical requirements. The article concludes that embracing linguistic diversity in law enforcement can improve investigations, promote cooperation, and enhance community safety and security.

This article presents the concepts and fundamentals of the lines of research on Language and Literature teaching from an ethnographic perspective, which we have been conducting in Argentina. Currently, these lines of research are being carried out at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional and focus on continuous teacher training distance learning, specifically addressing the challenges that affect Beginning Literacy in our country. The article explores how teachers describe their teaching experiences regarding the reproduction of educational slogans from the approaches that have guided curriculum designs and teacher training over the last four decades. It also presents how teachers produce other meanings regarding specific aspects overlooked by such reproduction. In this regard, the meanings through which teachers describe the challenges that their students face in mastering written language are defined and analyzed. Teachers sometimes do not know how to address these difficulties, as they have not been introduced to linguistic perspectives related to the distinctive features of Beginning Literacy.

Spatial segregation in the West Bank remains a pressing issue with profound social, economic, and political implications. This study examines the gap between the Palestinian Authority's (PA) political statements and the local implementation of strategic planning measures to counter segregation in Palestinian communities. By analyzing the Strategic Development and Investment Plans (SDIPs) from 2018-2021, this research investigates the extent to which these plans address the challenges posed by Israeli settlements and promote inclusive urban development. The findings reveal significant shortcomings, including limited coverage of settlement-related challenges, inadequate strategies to confront settlement activity, and a lack of context-specific approaches; Out of the 122 plans analyzed, only 15 (12.3%) explicitly addressed the geopolitical situation, while 67 (54.9%) acknowledged settlements as a challenge. Disturbingly, 28 plans (22.9%) neglected the significance of Area C, highlighting a substantial oversight.

British Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Nadine Dories proclaimed culture and sport the “third front in the Ukrainian war”. Russia, Ukraine but also national institutions in Western countries recognize this strong dimension in their own strategic conducts. Music is clearly part of this War whether on the side of belligerents or of third party States, cultural actors and artists even though they try to escape he dilemmas they cause. What does mean listening music in such figuration? Does it entail a “bellephonic sound” dissemination that could not be transcended or are there some experiments of musical diplomacies that tend to have another representation of otherness even in a context of war? By focusing on several musical programs and institutions in Europe since the beginning of Ukraine War, this paper aims at shedding light on the role of music as a source of recognition in strategic context from public diplomacy to people-to-people diplomacy.

Revisiting the sociological concepts of nation and reciprocities formulated by Marcel Mauss, the hypothesis of the European Union is put forward as a new type of society in which each member is integrated by the multiple differences in and between themselves, unlike nations whose homogenizing tendency comes from direct reciprocity between each member and the entire society. In this sense, supranational unions would result in communities that are both originally and intentionally diverse, while such international relations of indirect reciprocities within their scope would make national citizenships permeable to human diversity (mainly cultural) in general. Therefore, the current unification of European nations is a case whose study can foresee problems and possibilities of such unions to be undertaken in other planetary quadrants.

This article investigates the factors that affect online customers’ satisfaction from the perspective of Bangladesh. The study is a descriptive type of research. Data have been collected from 201 respondents who make online purchasing, using a structured survey questionnaire. For analyzing data, frequency tables, factor analysis and multiple regressions have been used. The findings from factor analysis reveal that information availability, convenience, ease of use, attractive website design and customization of product or service affect online customers’ satisfaction mostly. The study from multiple regression analysis reveals that there is a high degree of positive correlation between dependent variable and independent variables. The findings from multiple regression analysis reveal that product quality, delivery quality, after sales service and fair price are highly significant factors that affect online customers’ satisfaction in Bangladesh. The results of this research is suitable for the online product sellers or online service providers as they can take ideas about which factors they need to take into consideration with greater importance and caution for online customers’ satisfaction in a developing country perspective like Bangladesh.

This study investigated the benefits of Merlot grape pomace extract (EBUM) in experimental acetaminophen-induced intoxication. Swiss mice received the respective treatments for 7 days: Control (saline), Silymarin (100 mg/Kg), EBUM: 100 mg/Kg and 500 mg/Kg. On the seventh day, the acetaminophen control,Silymarin and EBUM received a single dose of acetaminophen 500 mg/kg. After 24 hours, the mice were sacrificed, the blood and liver were collected for analysis of serum transaminases (ALT and AST), bilirubin, hepatic markers of oxidative stress and histopathological analysis. EBUM was able to prevent acetaminophen-induced hepatic necrosis with a significant reduction (p<0.0001) in ALT and AST, bilirubin, as well as a significant increase in hepatic GSH and CAT levels. The histological data are consistent with the transaminase results, showing less liver damage in the treated groups when compared to the acetaminophen group. The results allow us to infer that EBUM has a hepatoprotective effect against intoxication caused by acetaminophen in animal model, proving to be a therapeutic alternative in preventing drug-induced liver damage.
