Consumer trust is an important factor in business-to-consumer e-commerce (B2C EC) and has been studied extensively in the marketing field. However, the definition, classification and roles of B2C EC, which are subject to debate, continuously require further research. Therefore, the current study primarily aims to present insights into consumer trust as a multidimensional concept. This study also focuses on the antecedents and consequences of consumer trust by incorporating the perception of retailers' ethics, consumer repurchase intention (CRI), product type, consumer online shopping habit and attitude. The current research extends the 'antecedents-trust-consequences' framework and conducts a survey amongst online shoppers of a B2C EC website in Vietnam. A total of 518 valid questionnaires were collected and used to test the proposed hypotheses through the application of structural equation modelling (SEM). Results indicated that B2C EC comprises three types of trust. Consumer perception of retailers' ethics and CRI also play the role of antecedent and outcome of consumer trust, respectively. Moreover, product type, consumer online shopping habit and consumer attitude act as moderating variables in such a relationship.

Drawing upon Human Capital Theory, the purpose of this study is to understand how education as a critical human capital influences starting or stopping a business. Besides, we investigate how gender and two countries' context - Norway and China - may moderate the relationship between education and entrepreneurial intention or business discontinuance. Applying the data from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) from 2012 to 2016, we find that education is a significant explanatory factor for intention to start a business or discontinue. As for gender, Norwegian and Chinese contexts moderate the effect of education on entrepreneurial intention, they do not influence the effect of education upon business discontinuance. The findings of this study bring significant contributions to theory and practice. It extends the application of the Human Capital Theory in business start and discontinuance and how it improves or inhibits the decision to start or stop business. Practically, it helps governments to devise programs for prolonging entrepreneurial business success in developing and developed countries.

'Born global' firms have to be innovative to boost their international competitiveness. Using a sample of 744 firms from Chile, we studied the effects of innovation (measured by R&D, product innovation and business model innovation) on firms' export activity in the context of born globals. We used a configurational approach (fsQCA) to disentangle the complex relationship between born globals and export performance. The approach is appropriate for examining causal relationships and information asymmetry. With the robustness of fsQCA, we found that there are three configurations that link several born global attributes (mainly young and small firms), together with the three indicators of firm innovation performance (R&D, product innovation and business model innovation), and lead to intense export activity. This may be because these firms, with their shortage of resources, must take advantage of the resources they do have through innovation and achieve high international competitiveness by exporting.
