Impact of Job Satisfaction on Performance of Employees Working Nepalese Life Insurance Companies, Kathmandu, Nepal 工作满意度对尼泊尔人寿保险公司员工绩效的影响,加德满都,尼泊尔

Employee satisfaction is essential for an organization's success and survival. Job satisfaction measures how happy workforces are with their jobs and working environment. Many factors involve improving or maintaining high satisfaction rates, which wise insurance sectors would do well to implement. Employees’ job satisfaction is a multi-disciplinary concept that results from their perception of their jobs and the degree to which a good fit exists between them and the insurance sector. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction dimensions and employee performance, and it also explores how satisfaction influences employee performance in life insurance sectors. Descriptive and causal-comparative research designs were employed to examine the relationship and explore the dimensions. Data have been gathered from the 240 respondents through stratified sampling techniques and entered into SPSS version 20 for the analysis. The correlation result of the study clarified that there was a positive and significant relationship between job satisfaction constructs and employee performance. As per  regression analysis, payroll had a higher influence on job performance than other factors and was positively significant. So, the payroll system affected employees satisfaction to increase their performances. It has also reported significant positive relationships between interpersonal relationships and employee performance. However, there was an insignificant relationship between working environment and job performance.

The Impact of Corporate Governance on Nepalese Commercial Banks' Financial Performance 公司治理对尼泊尔商业银行财务绩效的影响

This research examines the impact of many bank-specific characteristics on the financial performance of listed commercial banks in Nepal, including board size, firm size, foreign ownership, and credit to deposit ratio. The panel data (70 observations) of 7 listed banks out of 27 banks was used to examine the determinants of banks' financial performance, such as ROE. The relationship and effect of the above-mentioned factors on the financial performance of commercial banks in Nepal were investigated using a correlational and causal research methodology in this study. This research discovered a link between board size, business size, foreign ownership, and credit-to-deposit ratio with financial performance. Again, the size of the board of directors, the size of the company, foreign ownership, and the credit-to-deposit ratio have all been found to have a major influence on financial success.

Knowledge Transfer in Community Schools: Factors Influencing Perspective 社区学校知识转移:影响因素视角

Purpose. This study examines the knowledge transfer through knowledge and communication-related factors in the context of Secondary Level (+2) education in Community Schools. Design & Approach. To obtain the objectives of this paper, data has been collected from the respondents of +2 level students of nine Community Schools and the schools have been selected using the key informant method. The respondents have asked structured questionnaire based on five-point Likert scales. While selecting the 430 respondents from different nine Community Schools, the researcher applies a purposive sampling method and the same count of questionnaires have been distributed to them, among these, with the final net count of 403 filled-up questionnaires taken for the study. To analyze the data, statistical tools such as frequency, percentage etc. have been used. Cronbach's alpha is observed to test the reliability of items. Similarly, Pearson's Correlation coefficient is used to examine the relationship between the Knowledge Transfer-dependent variable and the other four independent variables. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis is also performed for the testing of the hypothesis. Originality & Value. In the context of factors influencing knowledge transfer perspective in Community Schools, this paper made deep research through the various dimensions of knowledge transfer and which may assist the various stakeholders with regard to provide and improve the way out of quality education. Results & Findings. The major findings of the study were that Sharing of Understanding and Communication Competence has significant effect on knowledge transfer whereas, Information Technology, and Source Credibility has positive but insignificant impact on knowledge transfer.

Determinants of Nepal's Foreign Exchange Reserve: An Empirical Study 尼泊尔外汇储备的决定因素:一个实证研究

With the intent to fill the gaps in the empirical literature on foreign exchange reserve in Nepal, the paper aims to evaluate the empirical evidence of determinants of foreign exchange reserve in Nepal and to investigate the dynamic relationship among variables of interest using an autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) error correction model and impulse response functions (IRFs) with 40 years of data from the period 1980-2020. The stylized facts of the employed model in the short run, reveal that the previous year's foreign exchange reserve itself, and all other predictors except gross fixed capital formation and official exchange rate (have negative) have a positive effect on foreign exchange reserve. The empirical evidence also insights that net flows of foreign direct investment, GDP per capita, inflation, and official exchange rate have positively influenced the foreign exchange reserve in long run. On the contrary, gross fixed capital formation has negative effects in long run. Moreover, anticipated crucial proxies––current account balance and trade are positively influenced but not significant. However, any impulse on the current account balance reports a significant response of foreign exchange. Thus, the central bank of Nepal and policymakers are needed to focus on the productivity of gross fixed capital formation or domestic investment to maintain the reserve adequacy and should give their attention to the current account balance (import and export) that can maintain the foreign exchange reserve and financial/economic stability and safety.

Modes and Approaches of Teaching and Learning Writing in BBS First Year 论坛第一年写作教学模式与方法

This article analyses the planning, process and application of Patterns for College Writing: A rhetorical reader and guide that has been prescribed as a textbook for BBS first year English course in Tribhuvan University Nepal since 2019. The analysis focuses on two aspects of the textbook: the making of the textbook to facilitate the students’ writing in the classroom and the practical outcome of the application of the textbook in real classroom setting. The first aspect concentrates on the textbook itself, whereas the second one is on a survey among the instructor of the same textbook. The analysis of the textbook shows that the course is well structured and so is useful for the writing class in the college level. But the survey has indicated the mismatch between the process designed in the book and its real application in the classroom. Some good practices have indicated that if the academic institutions, instructors and students work honestly for the students’ skill development, this textbook can be a good guide for developing an international level writing skill of students in Nepal.

Role of Perceived Customer Service, Quality, and Price Fairness on Attitude Formation: An Empirical Evidence from Nepal's Online Business Context 感知顾客服务、品质和价格公平对态度形成的作用:来自尼泊尔网上商业环境的经验证据

Extensive development of information communication technology has widened the entrepreneurial opportunities and improved the multidimensional connectivity across the globe. Nepal does not stand aloof from this reality. At the same time, an abrupt outbreak of covid-19 crippled the global economy compelling many enterprises to face the unthought situation and act on issues unanticipated. Nepal's small and medium enterprises were forced to change their operation and marketing activities to reach customers. As a result, many small-sized enterprises started promoting thei products online, especially on social networking sites, accepted orders, payments online, and cash on delivery. Amid such a situation, this study aimed to identify how individuals perceive the customer services provided by online stores in Nepal. Further, this study also examined the role of perceived customer service, quality, and price fairness in shaping the attitude towards online shopping. This research applied the Ordinary Least Square to find out the effect of perceived customer service, quality, and price fairness on the attitude toward online shopping. Data was collected from 425 respondents through an online questionnaire. The collected data were processed in the Statistical Package for Social Science (25). The result of the study suggested a significant positive impact of perceived customer service, quality perception, and price fairness perception on attitude. The contribution of this study is the understanding of the relationship between the variables used in this study and the impact of the independent variable on the dependent variable in the Nepalese context. The results of this study may be helpful to the marketers in improving perceived customer service, quality perception, and price fairness and eventually increasing their sales.

Quits Versus Discharges Across Job Levels: Revisiting the Positive Side of Turnover 跨工作层级的离职与离职:重新审视离职的积极面

Although the functional effects of turnover have been argued from the earliest research in the field, empirical evidence so far supports a general negative effect on unit performance, and attempts to explore its potential benefits are scarce. It has been argued that one reason for the absence of positive effects has to do with a lack of specificity of the turnover construct. The present study focuses on two sources of specificity: the reason for turnover and the job level of the departing employees. Our objective is to perform integrative research to analyze their joint effects and discuss how the four turnover scenarios created by their combination make their potential benefits of departures salient. We integrate arguments from human and social capital theories with the literature on team adaptation and change to develop our conceptual framework, and test our hypotheses using longitudinal monthly data from 5,202 stores of a large fashion multinational retailer in 39 countries. Our results provide evidence of a curvilinear relationship between staff quits and unit performance, and show that discharges are linearly beneficial both for managerial and staff positions, although at different degrees. Our findings demonstrate that differentiating between quits and discharges matters, and that the relative value conveyed by the job level of the departing employees is a relevant contingency in this distinct effect over performance.

Arbitration Laws and Judicial Response to Settling the Disputes Through Arbitration in Nepal 尼泊尔仲裁法与仲裁解决争议的司法回应

The article aims to analyze the arbitration-related laws in Nepal, the domestication of international arbitration treaties and conventions, settlement procedures of arbitration disputes and the role of the Nepalese judiciary to settle the disputes through arbitration. To settle disputes outside the court through a mutual agreement in a peaceful situation, ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) is the best method practiced worldwide since time immemorial; Nepal has also proclaimed various provisions in different statutes and rules. Arbitration Act, 2055 is the current statute that governs arbitration matters and Arbitration (Court procedures) Rule, 2059 governs the court proceedings. The various provisions of Arbitration Laws and Rules have been proclaimed to mitigate the international arbitration laws and rules. Nepalese judiciary especially the supreme court and high court has played a pivotal role to settle the dispute that arose during arbitration, arbitral award, its implementation, the appointment of arbitrator etc.  The finding of the study is there have been significant changes in the decision-making process by the court and new trends mitigating the international proceedings have been followed. The analysis is significant as it helps to understand the arbitration laws and procedures and new trends adopted by the courts to settle disputes.

Determinant Factors Influencing Organic Food Purchase Intention 影响有机食品购买意愿的决定因素

Consumers have become highly concerned about their enduring health and moulding behaviour towards health benefits purchases. With regard to this, the paper aims to examine the determining factors that influence the purchase intention of organic food in Biratnagar. Among different exploratory factors, this paper aims to study the impact of trust, health consciousness and knowledge on the purchase intention of organic food. A self-administered questionnaire was sent on a random basis and 170 responses were recorded. To investigate the correlation among the variables Pearson Correlation was used and Multiple regression to find the impact of different factors on the purchase intention of organic food. The research findings reported that knowledge was the key determinant factor and showed a positive significant impact on purchase intention. Trust and health consciousness didn’t significantly impact organic food purchases. The article recommends that government and policymakers give immense attention towards organic farming and provide necessary awareness to encourage the purchase of organic food.

Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on the Net Profit and its Principal Determinants of Nepalese Commercial Banks 新冠肺炎疫情对尼泊尔商业银行净利润的影响及其主要决定因素

COVID-19's influence on net profit and its main variables, such as net interest income, fee and commission revenue, and total operating income of Nepalese commercial banks, is explored. It also aims to determine the relationship between variables as well as the short- and long-term effects of interest income, fee and commission revenue, and operating income on commercial banks' net profit. The panel data of 27 commercial banks from 2011 (fiscal year 2010/11) to 2020 (fiscal year 2019/20) are examined and collected from the Nepal Rastra Bank's Banks Supervision Reports. The descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, panel unit root testing, and panel autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model are all employed. Net interest income and net profit (0.901), fee and commission income and net profit (0.823), and total operating income and net profit (0.823) all have a strong positive connection (0.800). The COVID-19 outbreak hurts commercial banks' net profits in both the short and long term. However, the research produced some disputed findings. For example, consider the long-term negative impact of total operating profit on commercial bank net profit and the short-term negative impact of net interest income on commercial bank net profit. It is suggested to decrease unneeded expenditures that may be cut without disrupting the banking business to enhance profit. The importance of e-banking might be stressed to slow the rapid decline in bank profit and other earnings. This article is unique because the researcher is not affected by other researchers' tools, methodologies, and findings.
