The link between culture and innovative activity has been extensively studied in recent years. Such research, however, is often limited to the direct relationship between culture and innovation without highlighting the role of indirect links through various socioeconomic factors. In this paper, we investigate both direct and indirect links between culture and innovation, proxied by the innovation output sub-index, using path analysis models and four sets of cultural dimensions: Minkov et al. (2017, 2018), Inglehart (1997), Inglehart and Welzel (2005), Beugelsdijk and Welzel (2018) and Kaasa and Minkov (2022). We find that aspects of governance and R&D investments play a significant role as mediators between culture and innovation. Our findings also indicate that the indirect effect of culture on innovation is stronger than the direct effect for all sets of cultural dimensions.
近年来,文化与创新活动之间的联系得到了广泛的研究。然而,这些研究往往局限于文化与创新之间的直接关系,而没有强调通过各种社会经济因素的间接联系的作用。本文采用路径分析模型和四组文化维度:Minkov et al.(2018,2018)、Inglehart(1997)、Inglehart and Welzel(2005)、Beugelsdijk and Welzel(2018)和Kaasa and Minkov(2022),以创新产出子指数为代表,研究了文化与创新之间的直接和间接联系。研究发现,企业治理和研发投资在文化与创新之间起着重要的中介作用。研究结果还表明,在所有文化维度中,文化对创新的间接影响都强于直接影响。

Despite considerable interest from academics and management professionals in creating sustainable, competitive advantages through business model innovation (BMI), and highly-prominent BMI success stories, the contemporary understanding of how company-internal antecedents can enable systematic BMI remains limited. However, this specific knowledge is necessary if companies are to repeatedly exploit BMI's strategic and financial benefits. Therefore, this paper aims to reveal the internal antecedents by applying an in-depth qualitative research approach to the systematic BMI of all five German automotive manufacturers. The results show that systematic BMI is enabled through: 1) unified orientation; 2) dynamic orchestration; 3) flexible operations; 4) adjacent fields, which are underpinned by 16 distinct second-order themes. These findings significantly enhance the theoretical and managerial understanding of the enabling factors for BMI, and contribute unique empirical insights to the ongoing academic debate - particularly from the perspectives of dynamic capabilities and strategic agility.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of dynamic capability (DC) (sensing, seizing and transforming) on performance (market, customer, financial and innovation) of small and medium manufacturers (SMM). I developed a conceptual framework linking DC and firm performance based on extensive review of literature. Data on the observed variable from 403 respondents were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) in AMOS. The study established a strong relationship between transforming capability and innovation, customer and financial performance. The study highlights the perspective of firm performance and DC for SMM. It also brought out the structural aspects of the associated aspects.

Healthcare is a determining factor for the well-being of a person, family, and community, as well as a requirement for equal human development. The third sustainable development goal of the 2030 Agenda is mainly to 'Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages'. The aim of this paper is to analyse the determining factors of innovation in human healthcare related activities in Colombia for the 2014-2015 period. The investigation methodology is a study using the ordered multinomial logit of the types of innovation from 1,061 companies, in accordance with the Survey of Technological Development and Innovation (EDIT V) from the National Administrative Department of Statistics. The results show that only 0.1% innovated strictly speaking, evidencing the pressing need to strengthen the alliance between the state and organisations with the purpose of promoting the innovative creation of products, services, and solutions for the sector.
