Chronic hyperglycemia will cause legs and blood circulation disorders. Treatment with insulin is still quite expensive and with some side effects of oral hypoglycemic drugs. This experience made the management of DM switch to herbal treatment, namely soursop leaves (Annona muricata). The study used a pre and post test control group design with random allocation. Quasy experimental study with a two group pre tpost-testest – post tepost-testst design at 36type-2 DM patients in the Pekalongan City area. Blood glucose levels in the treatment group were measured before and after administration of soursop leaf nanoparticles500 ml/20 gBB 3 times a day for 6 days and 500 mg metformin. Giving soursop leaf nanoparticles at a dose of 500 ml/20 grBW 3 times a day for 6 days is effective on fasting blood glucose levels clinically with a change in value of 65 mg/dL, and has a statistically significant effect on reducing fasting glucose levels (p=0.035).

A pattern of muscle imbalance is seen clinically in osteoarthritis. Quadriceps weakness has been identified as a cause of osteoarthritis in the genu, indicating a link between muscle imbalance and osteoarthritis. The DNS approach aims to exploit brain plasticity and reactivate the patient's dormant natural motor patterns, stimulating global motor reactions and minimizing muscle imbalance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of giving dynamic neuromuscular stabilization exercise on pain reduction in the elderly with genu osteoarthritis. This type of research is quantitative: a quasi-experimental pre-post test with a control group design non random sampling with a sample of 50 subjects divided into two groups, namely 25 experimental groups and 25 control groups. The research instruments used closed questionnaires, structured interviews, and pain measurements with NRS. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Exercise intervention was carried out twice a week for 4 weeks. Data processing in this study used SPSS software program version 26. Data analysis was carried out in the form of a data normality test using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test because the number of subjects was 50 ( ≥ 50) people, and the differential effect test used was the Mann-Whitney Test because the data was not normally distributed. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in influence between the experimental group and the control group of NRS values of p=0.044. There is an effect on the experimental group, and there is a difference in the effect on the experimental group compared to the control group. For future research, it is hoped that if you want to use the same DNS exercise, choose a different dose from this study so that you can see the difference in results and have a newer reference from a different dose.

The Nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester was physiologically due to an increase in the Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) hormone which affects the digestive system, causing complaints of nausea and vomiting. One of them was handling nausea and vomiting by administering peppermint aromatherapy inhalation. Peppermint had a sharp menthol aroma, a distinctive cold refreshing smell, and the smell of menthol which had properties against contractions by inhibiting muscle contact caused by serotonin hormone so that it could successfully overcome nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. This study aims to determine the differences in nausea and vomiting before and after administration of peppermint aromatherapy inhalation dose, 0,1-0,2 ml for 1-10 minutes to pregnant women in their first This type of research was quasi-experimental, one-group pre-and post-test design. The number of samples was 48 respondents intervention and treatments, with the sampling method "purposive sampling" type of non-probability sampling. The data collection tool was a Pregnancy Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea (PUQE) questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of data analysis used the Wilcoxon test and obtained a p-value of 0. 000 p 0. 05. This means that there were differences in nausea and vomiting before and after giving peppermint aromatherapy inhalation to pregnant women in their first trimester. It is expected that pregnant women use peppermint aromatherapy inhalation to treat nausea and vomiting because it does not have a toxic effect on the health of the mother and fetus.

This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of use by radiographers and image quality in the use of dental holders that have been modified with silicone rubber in dental radiography procedures. Motivated by the problem in the use of conventional dental holders that often cause discomfort for patients and the potential for motion artifacts, a modification with silicone rubber was proposed. The study sample involved 16 repetitions on each head cadaver using both the innovative and control dental holders. The results of the paired t-test showed a significant difference in efficiency of use by radiographers and image quality between the two groups. The efficiency of use by radiographers increased, supported by a Cohen's d value of 9.632. The modification with silicone rubber showed better images, with a Cohen's d value of 0.325, attributed to the adjustable conus guide capability according to the size of the patient's mouth and jaw as well as the increased comfort with the silicone rubber material. This study recommends the adoption of the modified dental holder to improve procedure efficiency and quality of dental radiography results.

Quality of life can be interpreted as a person's view of life related to culture, values, and other factors. The quality of life of adolescents in Indonesia can be influenced by various factors, such as family. Families with divorced parents must experience differences and changes from families with intact parents. The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life of adolescents in terms of physical and psychological conditions with divorced parents in Indonesia. The research method used in this research is Literature Review. The search for journal articles used 4 databases with a combination of the PICO(S) components and met the inclusion criteria so that 31 articles were extracted according to the research objectives. The results of the analysis show that the quality of life of adolescents with divorced parents depends on each of these adolescents. Physical condition can be seen from the components of pain and discomfort, energy and fatigue, and sleep and rest. And psychological conditions can be seen from the components of positive feeling, thinking, learning, memory, and concentration, negative feelings, self-esteem, and spirituality personal belief.

The number of maternal deaths in Semarang City in 2021 was 21 cases out of 22,030 live births, or around 95.32 deaths per 100,000 live births, with the causes of death dominated by bleeding (14.29%) and hypertension (9.52%). Postpartum hemorrhage is caused by four main factors known as the 4T: tone, trauma, tissue, and thrombin. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between preeclampsia, maternal age, and type of delivery with the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage at Central General Hospital Dr. Kariadi Semarang in 2020–2022. The study was an analytic observational quantitative research with a retrospective case control study. The study was conducted in February 2023 with a total sample of 100 samples divided into case (total sampling) and control (simple random sampling) groups with a ratio of 1: 1 for each group. Statistical tests used Chi-square and odds ratio (OR) tests. The results showed that there was no relationship between preeclampsia and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage (p-value = 0.063; OR = 0.347), there was a relationship between maternal age and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage (p-value = 0.011; OR = 3.455), and there was a relationship between the type of delivery and postpartum hemorrhage (p-value = 0.012; OR = 2.923). The community can be expected to play an active role in integrated service post cadre activities and ante natal care assistance. Health workers and educational institutions also need to improve their knowledge and skills to form qualified health workers through certified training.

Background: The highest prevalence of dental caries was in the group of children aged 5-9 years (92.6%), and in the age group 3-4 years was 81.1%. Unhealthy teeth and mouth can affect a child's development because the condition of the milk teeth will determine the growth of the child's permanent teeth. Caries are influenced by brushing teeth, how to brush teeth, consumption of cariogenic foods, knowledge, and possibly many other factors that can affect caries. Purpose: to review the collected literature on risk factors for dental caries in children aged 6-12 years in Indonesia. Methods: This study used the literature review method which began with searching research results in 3 databases, namely PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar with predetermined inclusion criteria. Results: The articles that have been obtained in this literature show that there are many variables in the process of dental caries in elementary school children in Indonesia. These variables are divided into several discussion groups, namely individual characteristics, parental characteristics, consumption patterns, dental and oral hygiene, socioeconomic status, and dental and oral health interventions. Conclusion: there are many variables selected to be risk factors for dental caries, but not all variables are proven to be risk factors for dental caries in elementary school children. This is because other factors make the hypothesis rejected.

One of the characteristics of metabolic syndrome (MetS) is the low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels. Jamblang leaves (Syzygium cumini L.) contain various phytochemicals, which have antihyperglycemic, antihyperlipidemic, and antioxidant properties. This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of ethanol extract of jamblang leaves in increasing HDL levels in the Wistar rats model of MetS. A pretest-posttest with a control group design was conducted using 30 male Wistar rats, divided into five groups randomly, with six rats for each group. Here, KN means normal control group, K- negative control group, and P1, P2, and P3: treatment groups that were administered the 100 mg/kg/day, 150 mg/kg/day, and 200 mg/kg/day of ethanol extract of jamblang leaves for 28 days, respectively. The rat MetS model was developed by administering the high-fat fructose diet and streptozotocin-nicotinamide. The data were analyzed using paired t-test and one-way ANOVA (α=0.05). This study found that extract administration in P2 and P3 increased HDL levels significantly, but not with the P1 group. However, HDL levels in P1 were significantly higher compared to the K- group. Moreover, increasing the dose was significantly followed by higher HDL levels, although the highest dose did not reach the HDL level as in the KN group.

Jamblang leaves (Syzygium cumini L.) contain various phytochemicals, which have antihyperglycemic, antihyperlipidemic, and antioxidant properties. This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of ethanol extract of jamblang leaves in increasing HDL levels in the Wistar rats model of MetS. A pretest-posttest with a control group design was conducted using 30 male Wistar rats, divided into five groups randomly, with six rats for each group. Here, KN means normal control group, K- negative control group, and P1, P2, and P3: treatment groups that were administered the 100 mg/kg/day, 150 mg/kg/day, and 200 mg/kg/day of ethanol extract of jamblang leaves for 28 days, respectively. The rat MetS model was developed by administering the high-fat fructose diet and streptozotocin-nicotinamide. The data were analyzed using paired t-test and one-way ANOVA (α=0.05). This study found that extract administration in P2 and P3 increased HDL levels significantly, but not with the P1 group. However, HDL levels in P1 were significantly higher compared to the K- group. Moreover, increasing the dose was significantly followed by higher HDL levels, although the highest dose did not reach the HDL level as in the KN group.","PeriodicalId":52993,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Riset Kesehatan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45688751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
