: The described study provides examples of the methods of refracted and reflected waves practical application for studying the near-surface section in various soil conditions. Examples of P-waves and S-waves at construction sites with soils of I-III categories in terms of seismic properties are considered. In each example, the bedrock conditions vary from 10 to 100 meters. The used devices and observation systems are described. As conclusions, specific tasks are listed, which are solved in practice using the study of soil strata by seismic methods. Conducting near surface seismic studies by the method of refracted waves in areas for the construction of buildings and structures for various purposes provides a significant amount of output data. This data used primarily for building velocity sections of the refracted waves and обра-studying the physical and mechanical characteristics, which makes it possible to assess the structural features of the near-surface section.

-Abstract: The modern technologies based on vibration impact find wide application both in surface and underground mineral mining. The impact source is mostly a pneumatic percussion tool. Such equipment is used in hole-making and in other types of mining activities. The com-pressed air-driven impact machines are advantageous for simple design and reliable operation in unfavorable conditions. Deeper level mining faces with the acute necessity to ensure safety of personnel when operating in highly gassy air. One of the ways of solving this problem is en-gineering of pneumatic percussion tools suitable for implementation of adaptive technologies. These technologies enable application of the remote drilling control, and the tools can operate as parts of robotic drilling facilities capable of automatic unmanned functioning. A feature of the adaptive drilling technologies is the ability of an impactor to vary the size and mechanism of impulse in a wide range subject to properties of a medium being treated. The proposed construction diagram of an air impact tool allows adjustment of output energy parameters immedi-ately in operation. The implemented simulation modeling of the pneumatic percussion mechanism proves feasibility of its physical modeling. The physical analogue model test produces an indicator diagram of the tool work cycle, and the graphs of change in energy and dynamic parameters of the tool are plotted. слова: самозапуск, This article shows the impact of sudden short-term interruptions of power supply on the example of the gold recovery factory GEF «Verninskaya». The technological process of the enterprise is briefly con -sidered, because of which the most significant groups of electric receivers are identified. These include crushers, mills, feeders, pumping and ventilation units. The characteristics of the equipment are analyzed and the consequences of the short-term disappearance of the power supply are determined. The damage caused by a decrease in voltage can be attributed to overspending of energy resources, chemicals, and water; reduction of the inter-repair service life of equipment; significant material losses; human casualties. The paper also calculates the power of non-switched electric motors depending on the duration of the short circuit. These calculations can be carried out in similar calculations for other enterprises.
