Emission spectra of excited yttrium particles ejected from the surface of the yttrium metal and yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) at Ar+ ions are studied. The efficiency of yttrium particles excitation defined from experimental data. The assumption is made that the difference in the excitation efficiency for yttrium atoms and ions is due to the different contribution of processes of formation of the excited atoms or ions ejected from solids at the ion bombardment of garnet and metal.

The fluctuations of synchrotron radiation (SR) energy losses during the motion of relativistic electrons in the uniform magnetic field in a storage ring are considered. The influence on the formation of the energy spectrum of the SR photon flux of the duration of registration of SR relativistic electrons is analyzed. It has been established that with the increase in the duration of temporal registration, the energy spectrum of the SR photon flux is regularly transformed into the asymptotically normal density in accordance with the law of large numbers of probability theory. It is determined that the main mechanism in the formation of the energy spectrum is successive convolutions of the current spectra.

A plasma-liquid system with the activation of H2O distillate and 0.1 M ferrocene solution in organic solvents (ethanol, acetonitrile) with a rotating gliding discharge plasma was studied. The research was conducted using various plasma-forming gases (air, Ar, N2, CO2). Determination of plasma parameters was performed by plasma emission spectroscopy methods. It was shown that the plasma of both the rotating gliding discharge and the plasma of the secondary discharge supported by the gliding discharge are non-isothermal. The study of the physicochemical properties of the synthesis products was performed by adsorption, luminescence analysis, polarimetry, chromatographymass spectrometry and NMR methods. It was found that cyclopentadiene ligands of ferrocene disproportionate into saturated cyclic hydrocarbons (cyclopentane and pentane). Also, as a result of plasma chemical synthesis, aromatic compounds (benzene and its derivatives) are formed.

A computer model of the system for forming neutron fluxes at the output of a linear electron accelerator has been developed in the Geant4 programming environment. The system for forming neutron fluxes consists of a monoenergetic neutron source, a graphite reflector, a polyethylene moderator, lead protection and detector. With the help of the model, a number of virtual experiments on 107 primary neutrons were carried out for the energy range of the neutron source from 0.1 to 1.1 MeV. The dependence of the ratio of the number of neutrons falling on the detector with a reflector to the number of neutrons without a reflector is determined, on the energy of the neutron source. Energy spectra of neutrons falling on the detector are determined. It was established that the graphite reflector not only increases the number of particles falling on the detector, but also moderated the energy spectrum of neutrons. The neutron background in the accelerator bunker when using a reflector decreases from 2 to 7 times, depending on the energy of the neutron source.

In the cubic nonlinear approximation, we analyze the processes of generating the electric pump field by an electron beam and its effect on the amplification of space charge waves (SCW) in the amplification section of a parametric superheterodyne free-electron laser (FEL). We found that the generated pump electric field amplitude is within 21…33% of the amplitude of the external pump electric field. We showed that the generated pump electric field is in phase with the external one. It leads to an increase in the growth increments of SCW; therefore, the length of the SCW amplification section is reduced by 22%. We found out that this field does not destroy the mode of amplification of multi-harmonic SCW. Thus, the studied effect makes it possible to create FELs with smaller longitudinal dimensions and powerful electromagnetic waves with a complex multi-harmonic spectrum.

The plasma energy transfer to plasma-facing materials, as well as the energy and particles exhaust, needs to be extensively studied for the implementation of the next-step fusion reactor project. Analysis of plasma-surface interaction features has been performed using QSPA exposures of reference plasma-facing materials. The parameters of the plasma streams imitated conditions of transient events in a fusion reactor. The influence of an external magnetic field on the energy balance during the plasma-surface interaction is also discussed.

Using the MCNPX program it was shown how the absorption properties can degrade during the 4 fuel campaigns in WWER1000 core. The nuclide composition of the emitter material was calculated for several coaxial layers in order to find out the burn-up profile. To assess the unevenness of the neutron irradiation, the neutron losses within the emitter layers were calculated.

In this work, the Gamow-Teller transition strength distributions in sd-shell region were investigated by using shell model. The calculations of B(GT) and their accumulated sum ∑B(GT) for the nuclei 34Ar→34Cl, 34S→34Cl, 37Cl→37Ar, and 37Ca→37K were performed using the shell model by utilizing the USDB and USDA effective interactions in the sd-shell. The transitions for the nuclei are studied. The results for the B(GT) and ∑B(GT) are discussed and compared to the most recent observed data. The measured GT distributions and the cumulative transition intensities B(GT) are in a fair amount of agreement with the theoretical calculations. We have established a qualitative agreement for the individual transformations, and the measured cumulative transformation strengths nearly match the observed ones.

An overview of existing neutron sources in the world, which are used for fundamental and applied research in various fields of science and technology, was conducted. The possibility of creating a neutron source on the basis of a superconducting electron accelerator, which is the basis of the multi-functional accelerator complex of the National Science Center NSC KIPT, was considered.
