LINEAR PRESERVERS ON IDEMPOTENTS OF FOURIER ALGEBRAS 傅立叶代数幂等元的线性保持器

In this article, we give a representation of bounded complex linear operators which preserve idempotent elements on the Fourier algebra of a locally compact group. When such an operator is moreover positive or contractive, we show that the operator is induced by either a continuous group homomorphism or a continuous group anti-homomorphism. If the groups are totally disconnected, bounded homomorphisms on the Fourier algebra can be realised by the idempotent preserving operators.

Erdős–Ko–Rado theorem in Peisert-type graphs Peisert型图中的Erdõs–Ko–Rado定理

The celebrated ErdH{o}s-Ko-Rado (EKR) theorem for Paley graphs (of square order) states that all maximum cliques are canonical in the sense that each maximum clique arises from the subfield construction. Recently, Asgarli and Yip extended this result to Peisert graphs and other Cayley graphs which are Peisert-type graphs with nice algebraic properties on the connection set. On the other hand, there are Peisert-type graphs for which the EKR theorem fails to hold. In this paper, we show that the EKR theorem of Paley graphs extends to almost all pseudo-Paley graphs of Peisert-type. Furthermore, we establish the stability results of the same flavor.

If $ fin mathcal {B} $ of the form $ f(z)=sum _{n=0}^{infty }a_nz^n $ , then $ sum _{n=0}^{infty }|a_nz^n|leq 1 $ for $ |z|=rleq 1/3 $ and $ 1/3 $ cannot be improved. This inequality is called Bohr inequality and the quantity $ 1/3 $ is called Bohr radius. If $ fin mathcal {B} $ of the form $ f(z)=sum _{n=0}^{infty }a_nz^n $ , then $ |sum _{n=0}^{N}a_nz^n|<1;; mbox {for};; |z|<{1}/{2} $ and the radius $ 1/2 $ is the best possible for the class $ mathcal {B} $ . This inequality is called Bohr–Rogosinski inequality and the corresponding radius is called Bohr–Rogosinski radius. Invariant means on weakly almost periodic functionals with application to quantum groups 弱概周期泛函的不变量意义及其在量子群上的应用

Abstract Let ${mathcal A}$ be a Banach algebra, and let $varphi $ be a nonzero character on ${mathcal A}$ . For a closed ideal I of ${mathcal A}$ with $Inot subseteq ker varphi $ such that I has a bounded approximate identity, we show that $operatorname {WAP}(mathcal {A})$ , the space of weakly almost periodic functionals on ${mathcal A}$ , admits a right (left) invariant $varphi $ -mean if and only if $operatorname {WAP}(I)$ admits a right (left) invariant $varphi |_I$ -mean. This generalizes a result due to Neufang for the group algebra $L^1(G)$ as an ideal in the measure algebra $M(G)$ , for a locally compact group G. Then we apply this result to the quantum group algebra $L^1({mathbb G})$ of a locally compact quantum group ${mathbb G}$ . Finally, we study the existence of left and right invariant $1$ -means on $ operatorname {WAP}(mathcal {T}_{triangleright }({mathbb G}))$ .

Invariant ideals and their applications to the turnpike theory 不变理想及其在收费公路理论中的应用

Abstract In this paper, the turnpike property is established for a nonconvex optimal control problem in discrete time. The functional is defined by the notion of the ideal convergence and can be considered as an analogue of the terminal functional defined over infinite-time horizon. The turnpike property states that every optimal solution converges to some unique optimal stationary point in the sense of ideal convergence if the ideal is invariant under translations. This kind of convergence generalizes, for example, statistical convergence and convergence with respect to logarithmic density zero sets.

Abstract Granville recently asked how the Mahler measure behaves in the context of polynomial dynamics. For a polynomial $f(z)=z^d+cdots in {mathbb C}[z], deg (f)ge 2,$ we show that the Mahler measure of the iterates $f^n$ grows geometrically fast with the degree $d^n,$ and find the exact base of that exponential growth. This base is expressed via an integral of $log ^+|z|$ with respect to the invariant measure of the Julia set for the polynomial $f.$ Moreover, we give sharp estimates for such an integral when the Julia set is connected.

Abstract Given a weighted shift T of multiplicity two, we study the set $sqrt {T}$ of all square roots of T. We determine necessary and sufficient conditions on the weight sequence so that this set is non-empty. We show that when such conditions are satisfied, $sqrt {T}$ contains a certain special class of operators. We also obtain a complete description of all operators in $sqrt {T}$ .

Amino acids are essential components of all living cells serving as building blocks of proteins, as energy source, and as precursors of metabolites and signaling molecules. Amino acid transporters are membrane proteins that mediate the transfer of amino acids across the plasma membrane, and between compartments in cells, different cells and organs. The absence, overexpression or malfunction of specific amino acid transporters have been associated with human disease. One of the projects within the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) TransCure was directed at SLC7 family amino acid transporters, with a particular focus on the heteromeric amino acid transporters 4F2hc-LAT1 (SLC3A2-SLC7A5) and 4F2hc-LAT2 (SLC3A2-SLC7A8), and the bacterial homologue AdiC. The project addressed questions of basic research (function and structure), pharmacology (identification of potent inhibitors and activators), and pre-clinical medicine (e.g., physiological role in the placenta) and disease models (e.g., tumor progression) of specific SLC7 family amino acid transporters. This review presents, summarizes and discusses selected main results obtained in this NCCR TransCure project.
