On-chip, tunable, narrow-bandpass microwave photonic filter using stimulated brillouin scattering (SBS) 基于受激布里渊散射(SBS)的片上可调谐窄带通微波光子滤波器

We report the first demonstration of a narrow-bandpass (~20MHz), on-chip, tunable, photonic filter for RF signals, using SBS in a chalcogenide waveguide. Extinction ratios of over 20dB for a frequency range of 2-12GHz were realized.

We report the first evidence for strong field laser effects in x-ray ionization at LCLS. Experiments using a strong field optical-frequency laser and x-rays have revealed asymmetries in N2 fragmentation patterns that indicate sub-cycle dynamics.

Integrated spectrometer and integrated detectors on Silicon-on-Insulator for short-wave infrared applications 基于绝缘体上硅的短波红外集成光谱仪和集成探测器

We present a miniature spectrometer fabricated on a Silicon-on-Insulator substrate with center wavelength at 2.15 μm. The spectrometer is a planar concave grating (PCG) with 6 channels and 4 nm channel spacing with a crosstalk of -12 dB. We investigate heterogeneously integrated grating-assisted GaInAsSb photodiodes for future implementation as detector array.

We have developed injection-seeded terahertz-wave parametric generator pumped by a amplified microchip Nd:YAG laser. This generated high-peak-power, narrow-linewidth and tunable terahertz-wave with injection seeding by an amplified external cavity diode laser. We observed tunable terahertz-wave, peak power of more than 120 W and linewidth of less than 10 GHz by calibrated pyroelectric detector.

Dynamics of Er-doped ultrashort pulse fiber laser with carbon nanotube were investigated both experimentally and numerically. The highest output power of 114 mW and pulse energy of 3.5 nJ were achieved by optimization of cavity.

We present the first room-temperature photoluminescence from GaSb-based dilute-nitrides, enabled by minimizing the incorporation of non-radiative defects. This material system could provide a pathway for covering the 3-5 μm regime with diode lasers.

Polarization dependence of laser machining by area scanning is observed. This general phenomenon is explained by anisotropies of stress induced in material and spatio-temporal distortions in ulrashort pulse. The control of phenomenon is demonstrated.
