RFID based attendance system 基于RFID的考勤系统

Most educational institutions' administrators are concerned about student irregular attendance. Truancies can affect student overall academic performance. The conventional method of taking attendance by calling names or signing on paper is very time consuming and insecure, hence inefficient. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based attendance system is one of the solutions to address this problem. This system can be used to take attendance for student in school, college, and university. It also can be used to take attendance for workers in working places. Its ability to uniquely identify each person based on their RFID tag type of ID card make the process of taking the attendance easier, faster and secure as compared to conventional method. Students or workers only need to place their ID card on the reader and their attendance will be taken immediately. With real time clock capability of the system, attendance taken will be more accurate since the time for the attendance taken will be recorded. The system can be connected to the computer through RS232 or Universal Serial Bus (USB) port and store the attendance taken inside database. An alternative way of viewing the recorded attendance is by using HyperTerminal software. A prototype of the system has been successfully fabricated.

Choice for a support vector machine kernel function for recognizing asphyxia from infant cries 从婴儿哭声中识别窒息的支持向量机核函数的选择

This paper investigates the performance of several kernel functions of support vector machine in detecting asphyxia from infant cries. In this study, Mel frequency cepstrum coefficients derived from the recorded infant cries were used as the input vectors. These input vectors were trained and classified using support vector machine. Four types of kernels - linear, quadratic, polynomial and radial basic function, were experimented and compared. Accuracy, sensitivity and specificity were adopted as criteria to obtain the best kernel. Experimental results showed that radial basic function kernel (σ = 35) is the best kernel with an accuracy of 85.15%, sensitivity of 91% and specificity of 71%.

Microcode-based and FSM-based controllers are two widely known architectures used for programmable memory built-in self test. These techniques are popular because of their flexibility of programming new test algorithms. In this paper, the architectures for both controllers are designed to implement a new test algorithm MARCH SAM that gives a better fault coverage in detecting single-cell fault and all intra-word coupling fault (CF).The components of each controllers are studied and designed. Both of the controllers are written using Verilog HDL and implemented in Altera Cyclone II FPGA. The simulation and synthesis results of both architectures are presented. Further analysis of the logic area usage and flexibility of these controllers are done on the synthesis results. The performance of each controller is compared in term of speed and area overhead.

A new topology for dynamic voltage restorers without dc link 无直流链路动态电压恢复器的新拓扑

In this paper, a new topology based on matrix converter (MC) is proposed for dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). Matrix converters convert ac to ac with no dc link. So, applying this type of converters is an acceptable way to eliminate dc link in conventional DVRs. Three independent three-phase to single-phase MCs with 6 or 8 bi-directional power switches are applied in the proposed topology. As a result, the proposed DVR structure can be used to restore load voltage in both balanced and unbalanced voltage sag and swell conditions. The range of the DVR's correct operation varies selecting 6 or 8 numbered bi-directional power switches in matrix converters. The proposed topology increases the speed and efficiency of DVR and in return decreases the size of DVR, due to the dc link elimination. The proposed DVR can be presented as a package able to compensate voltage sag and swell regardless of the balance or unbalance conditions. Also, one of the most important capabilities of the proposed DVR is the voltage restoring in extremely disturbed networks. The experimental results as well as simulation results in PSCAD/EMTDC environment show that the proposed topology operates correctly and the voltage of sensitive load is completely controlled.

Dynamic Voltage Restorer based on stacked multicell converter 基于堆叠多电池变换器的动态电压恢复器

Voltage sags are major power quality problems in distribution systems. To overcome these problems, different solutions have been proposed to compensate these sags and protect sensitive loads. As a solution, Dynamic Voltage Restorers (DVRs) have been proposed to provide higher power quality. However, the quality of DVR output voltage, such as THD, is important. So, in this paper a configuration of DVR based on stacked multicell (SM) converter is proposed. The main properties of SM converter, which causes increase in the number of output voltage levels, are transformer-less operation and natural self-balancing of flying capacitors voltages. The proposed DVR consists of a set of series converter and shunt rectifier connected back-to-back. To guarantee the proper operation of shunt rectifier and maintaining the dc link voltage at the desired value, which results in suitable performance of DVR, the DVR is characterized by installing the series converter on the source-side and the shunt rectifier on the load-side. Also, the pre-sag compensation strategy and proposed synchronous reference frame (SRF) based voltage sag detection and reference series injected voltage determination methods are adopted as the control system. The proposed DVR is simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC software and simulation results are presented to validate its effectiveness.

Assessing combinatorial interaction strategy for reverse engineering of combinational circuits 组合电路逆向工程组合交互策略评估

T-way test data generators play an immensely important role for both hardware and software configuration testing. Earlier work concludes that t-way test data generator can achieve 100% coverage without having to regard for more than 6 way interactions. In this paper, we investigate whether or not such a conclusion can be applicable for reverse engineering of combinational circuits. In this case, we reverse engineer a faulty commercial eight segment display controller using our t-way test data generator in order to redesign the replacement unit. We believe that our application of t-way generators for circuit identification is novel. The results demonstrate the need of more than 6 parameter interactions as well as suggest the effectiveness of cumulative test data for reverse engineering applications.

Reliability of recursive concentrator 递归浓缩器的可靠性

The inverse omega network possesses various attractive properties and its constituent node has a fixed degree independent of the system size. In this paper, a proof for a technique applied recursively to construct an N -input concentrator switching network which is similar in topology to the inverse omega network will be introduced. Also an examination of a reliable inverse omega network in the presence of any single node failure will be presented. The new configuration of the system ensures providing the same high performance results obtained before the failure. In this paper, we show how to check the passibility by the inverse omega network of any given connection set and list some of the general patterns passable by this network. We also show that the concentrate operation passable by the inverse omega network is just a special case of the more general alternate sequence operation.

Peripheral interface controller as signal generator in the single-phase matrix converter as AC-DC converter 外围接口控制器作为信号发生器,在单相矩阵变换器中作为交直流变换器

This paper describes implementation of peripheral interface controller (PIC) to generate pulse width modulation (PWM) signal to control the synthesize output waveform of single-phase matrix converter. This is then extended to produce an active pulse width modulation (APWM) in order to maintain input current waveform to become continuous, sinusoidal and in phase with the supply voltage and hence near unity power factor. The proposed switching control has capabilities to eliminate spike that is commonly induced with the use of inductive load.

Transportation and emplacement system of pre-assembled EBS for HLW geological disposal in Japan 日本高放射性废物地质处置用预装式EBS运输及安放系统

HLW disposal is one of the largest issues to utilize Nuclear power safely. In the past study, the concept, which buffer materials and Overpacked waste were transported into underground respectively, have shown. The concept of pre-assembled engineered barrier has advantage to simplify the logistics and emplacement procedure, however there are difficulties to support heavy weight of pre-assembled package by equipment under the condition of little clearance between tunnel and package. In this study, Combination of air bearing and two degree-of-freedom wheels were suggested for transportation, and air jack was suggested for unloading and emplacement system. Also, whole system for transportation and emplacement procedure was designed, and Scale model test was examined to evaluate the feasibility of these concept and functions.
高浓缩铀的处置是安全利用核能的最大问题之一。在以往的研究中,提出了将缓冲材料和过度堆积的垃圾分别运入地下的概念。预制工程屏障的概念有利于简化物流和就位程序,但在隧道与包件间隙小的情况下,设备难以支撑预制包件的重量。在本研究中,建议采用空气轴承与两个自由度车轮的组合方式进行运输,并建议采用空气千斤顶进行卸放系统。设计了整个系统的运输和安置程序,并进行了比例模型试验,以评估这些概念和功能的可行性。

Fuzzy Blind-Spot scanner for automobiles 汽车模糊盲点扫描器

In this paper, an Intelligent Blind-Spot Sensing system is presented. This system exploits the power of sensor technology using multiple low-cost ultrasonic sensors to monitor the designated blind spots in a vehicle. In addition, an embedded Basic Stamp controller is used as the brain of the system that controls the actions of ultrasonic sensors as well as produces various warning alarms for the driver. The system uses a Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) as the main intelligence and the main decision logic of this system. Because of low-cost sensors, the readings are not very stable or precise all the time. It's the interpretation of the sensor data through the FIS which is responsible for the correctness of the decision. This system will assist the drivers in safe- maneuvering to prevent accidents. The FIS is structured to incorporate human perceptive power in making a similar decision as to whether there is danger or not‥
